Great highlights videos. Thank you for including the motorcycles and funny cars. Many many years ago use to go up with a friend in his pitts stunt biplane. Clay's right a whole different kinda of G forces in a airplane . Clay's is in excellent shape to be able to handle the G force in his top fuel car. Clay's team is competition at it's finest level.

Toledo, Ohio is about half way between Selfridge Air National Guard base in Mt. Clemens, Michigan and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. My guess would be Clay's flight was out of one of those two places.
Since Clay was flying with the Thunderbirds, which are USAF, then it seems they would have flown form Wright-Patterson AF, Dayton, Ohio, which is also very close to Toledo, Ohio. Also actually lived in Toledo area, and visited may times after we moved to MD, then personally to LA, CA. [left from there since too; over 30 years ago].

Cool Thunderbird story! Way back when I was a kid I had an autographed Thunderbirds poster. I don't know what ever happened to it. That reminds me, I had a huge Evel Knievel poster too that my grandmother gave me. Yup I was a kid in the 70's! LOL
Oh yes Jerry Clay is a HUGE Evil Knievel fan too
@@leighmillicanhubbard I didn't know that! The poster I had was about 4 feet long and it was Evel mid jump over a bunch of greyhound buses. Hahaha The good ol' days when life wasn't so complicated.
He had a poster or posters too 😁 & 💯 on back in them days
Consistency is key to a good season and I do have to agree, that left lane was gash. Paper wouldn't even stick this weekend. I know it's racing but at least let the 2 cars have a fair shot on track.

I went to high school (class of 76) wìth an Air Force Thunderbird. I didn't know him well, I think we were in Judo class together, not sure about that. I was working at Denver International Airport during construction 2 or 3 years before it opened. There was an airshow at DIA. The Thunderbirds were there. They were in the air, and their names were being announced. One name was recognized by me as Captain Pete McCaffrey. I wasn't sure if that was the same guy. A few months later, there was a program on The Discovery Channel featuring the Air Force Thunderbirds, and it was the same person. I was proud to be a classmate of his and proud of him for becoming a great Air Force pilot, having the skill to fly with the Thunderbirds. I believe he achieved the rank of Major before he retired from the Air Force.
Dan Jones, so if You attended the same High School as Peter McCaffrey who was from Colorado, which High School in Northern Colorado did You both graduate from ? Peter apparently was in the class which graduated in 1979.
As You stated Peter McCaffrey was USAF pilot with The Thunderbirds, with rank Captain in 1993-4, with the position as "solo" within the team.
It must have been a pleasant surprise to see this fellow schoolmate on that program, with those achievements too.
Did You know Peter during school ? According to such a person with these accomplishment, thus would image he is quite a character with a strong, good self-image, -confidence too.
Apparently, according to USAF records, Peter McCaffrey was promoted to the his highest rank of Colonel, within his last position as Director of Plans, Programs and Testing, United States Air Force Warfare Center (USAFWC), Nellis AFB, Nevada, along with as AFWC adviser. According to his profile, he retired, then became a pilot within a major US airline and partner within a consulting firm; profile accessible by on-line search and access.

Pull vs seat. Pull G’s is not going to gray you out 95% of the time. Seat G’s will gray, tunnel, or black you out.
9 Pull G’s is like 4 seat G’s for most people. Seat G’s pull the Blood out of your head to your feet (Night night). Pull G’s puts blood to back of brain and will not effect nearly as soon as loss of blood! 😮😊

Do you think because they don't have no racing during a summertime?That the race track is not as good as it should be with no one on the road.They shut it down when you guys leave.They shut the The place down no one else can run their cars.Or so you guys come back last year I don't get it

I have to say this, but it will not be popular. That young girl Jasmine? She is NOT ready for TF competition. How many times has she competed vs how many times has she crossed the center line? I am not trashing her. It is NOT an easy promotion to TF. Clay and others make it look easy. I just don't want to see anyone get hurt. She is super young, and I know she is filling in for her dad (I think), but she scares the crap out of me. She needs extensive testing time still. Anyway good run until they clicked you off, with the conditions Clay. And yes Leigh said that 1st Clay lol
