My stepdad used to build and race his own rally cars when I was a child, he particularly liked Opel Mantas.
His favourite one which he kept for many years was and one I got many rides on was an Opel Manta 400, engine swapped with a supercharged 2L Cosworth engine, straight piped, that redlined beyond 9K rpm. It was deafening and the backfire was like grenades exploding. The neighbours always went mental when he let the engine "breathe" on the driveway.

Theres nothing like it in the world outside of The Lord Himself Youd think I was gonna get to take it down track the way I actted The energy that comes off of one of these literally pushes you back. If youre not prepared it could knock you off your feet ! Think im kiddin, go see for yourself when they come to a track near you.

By in large the absolute BEST sound from a non-human being EVER!!! Scott I noticed though you didn't turn the fuel pumps all the way to Full when she let the clutch out. I don't suppose its a lean condition when you open the throttle blades, I just usually see most teams release the clutch, hold the brake and fatten the fuel whether they blip the throttle or just let it idle while seating the clutches. I'd love to be your neighbor or in your vicinity.

Hey there. The car is equipped with an "All Valve" the fuel lever is pulled all the way on at the startup and left there till shutdown. Not all fuel cars have it, and it is always a good habit to pull it right before Stage to make absolutely sure fuel is full on before the run (it can move during burnout and backup)

That's only one of the most badass things I have ever seen. As someone who has attended the NHRA Northwest Nationals ever since 2005 I always try and be back in the pits between rounds to experience a top fuel or funny car warm-up.

My brother had a 60's model Nova with a 350 and dual Holly's carburetors on it. When he started it up to work on it, our cousin who lived 2 or three miles away could hear it. We'd see him in the convenience store and he tell my brother "well I heard you start your car this morning". Nothing like a top fueler but still pretty loud. LOL
