The first rollover is to be sure that the cylinders are clear of CH3/No2. Otherwise it will detonate bad enough to cause $11,000 of damage. And the first fire was just alcohol and blower lubricant
Every time I see a yellow top fuel rail car, I think of Eddie Hill and his Penzoil Nuclear Banana. They don`t make them like Eddie anymore.

When I went to my first Gatornationals I was surprised how you could not breathe in the pits when they started up. Pit pass is must at any NHRA event.

Gotta' love the smell of nitro in the morning (or any other time of day). 11,000 HP is a wonderful thing.
Haven't been in a long time but always remember the crowd hovering around until the nitro exhaust hit them and they would disperse.

May I ask about the fact that it may be absurd. How many decibels does a top fuel car typically have at idle?
In the range 85-96 something I would think. Full speed 150-160 decibels.
This is the same team who had an engine explode on the track, sending several team members to the hospital.
