- Compared to mandolins and banjos, manufacture of mandolin banjos has grown scarce at the beginning of the 21st century. Historically, mass production of mandolin-banjos have been made by several companies, most notably Gibson, but also by Vega and the English company Windsor, all who built and sold 4 and 8 string banjos in the early 20th century.

What size skin would you buy for this?
I had to buy the larger size skin and cut it down.... 10" I got it from HighlandKilts on Amazon... I bought 2 for £14
But Austen, you didn't give us measurements for optimal playability. What's 12th fret action? 1st fret action? Intonation? Did you use a micrometer to adjust the head tension? (Or whatever drummers use to adjust their kits) A precision instrument like that probably has fine tolerances. Now I'll never know.😂😂 👌
