You ever had a russian guitar?

I bought one of these a few years ago from a charity shop the single pick up variant after the contacts on the Jack socket it actually worked cost me£10 the neck played nicely I sold in a guitar show for £100

Hi, does anyone know what lacquer used for this guitar neck. I am trying to find information, but no luck. Thanks in advance ☺️

I had my Epiphone Thunderbird 60s made fretless, a damn good instrument. I really don’t think that electric bass guitars need frets really. I like to see where the frets where at one time so I am sure to be fingering the right note. I thought that removing the frets on my bass would mean no more string bending but at least on my Epiphone Thunderbird I can still bend all the strings in the normal way. Standup double basses are fretless… Going fretless is a sure fire way to get rid of fret buzz LOL

These guitars are so underrated and overlooked. I just picked one up for about $120. It will make an incredible first guitar for my friend.

I have the 12-string version (HB612), and have found that, with a decent EQ pedal, you can get pretty close to the Rick sound. It’s pretty well built, and holds tune well.

My number one guitar for years now I changed the bridge for a Wilkinson cutout with brass saddles I’m thinking on changing the pickups to alnico 5 the factory ones are ceramic they sound good though

Maybe the pickups are just slowly dying with age, i would add a cheap pickguard with pickups included from amazon or ebay and it will likely sound much better without spending a fortune

My low E lacks sustain....is fine if the string is played open. Any suggestions? My gut says there's a void under the 2 - 6th frets....deep slot

I just bought it and waiting for it to arrive. The biggest reassurance is to watch someone doing repair work and if they don't have a lot of trouble, it usually is a good metric of how the guitar is. Great video

I use a plastic drinking straw with a notch cut out of the end with a pair of scissors to shovel the dust in before adding the superglue.

I have an older EMG bass PJ pickup set. They say to disconnect the ground wire in my instructions. Is that the case with the newer EMG guitar pup sets?

I bought a telecaster version for £99 from Dawsons in Liverpool about 20 years ago. Mine has a normal telecaster cutaway but not long after they altered the lower cutaway to this stubby type presumably to avoid copyright problems. Great guitar.

Why not remove the fingerboard to replay the truss rod? Fix the truss rod problem and glue the crack FB!

Love the idea of your channel, and that you invite people to donate any financial contributions to animal charities. Some corrections (regarding the image you put on the screen which named songs that the Futurama was played on). George Harrison's Futurama was not on 'She Loves You' or 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' - he used his (second-hand) Gretsch Duo Jet for 'She Loves You' (later given to Klaus Voorman, but then returned to George years later when he asked Klaus for it back). I think that George used his (first, of two) Gretsch Country Gentleman on 'I Want To Hold Your Hand', but would have to check that. So, no Futurama on 'She Loves You' or 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' (and George's model was different to the one you are working on here).

I don't believe that the rotary switch is original. It would have had a two position toggle switch in this position, which controlled the middle pickup. The other switches were for the bridge and neck pickups. One volume control for the bridge and neck pickups and the other for the middle.

The body wood is Jelutong, a very light and rather soft hardwood from South East Asia.

The new ones are branded Rapier, rather than the original Watkins or Wilson name. The new ones capture the look quite nicely, but the electronics are updated.
