Ayush Bakshi are you trying to render an ambient occlusion pass or you just want to do some general rendering with lights ??

But if you only trying to render an AO pass which doesn’t need any lights and it’s not working, you might need to try and update your Arnold by downloading and instal the latest Arnold version

@@tribeofenoch It's the first time I've to use Arnold. It sucks (right now for me) or may be it's too different.
Sometimes I get black renders other times, impractical render times, fast renders on the same projects which were taking forever on previous attempts for some reason..
i'll figure things out when I get time for Trial/Error and R&D.

Ayush Bakshi yeas one thing you need to bear in mind is that Arnold is Physical based renderer which means that it uses accurate lighting just as you would get in real life, so I am coming from vray and Arnold is seriously good not saying that vray is any bad, just play with your lights when you get black... keep increasing the intensity play with the light settings but i am planning on releasing a Tutorial on how to get started with Arnold
