Why does mine turn black on the render screen?

a bit of a late answer - however, you have to change the exposure in the light, intensity in the lights settings.

Why does the Material turn black on the Material Editor ?????????????

Material slots turn black when activeshade is enabled. It's a bitch, but that's just the way it is. Change renderer back to production mode, and a few seconds later material slots should go back to normal.

Sorry.... your way of achieving colored transparent materials is not physically accurate. You really should use the transmission color to tint your transparent materials..... Transparent colored materials cast Colored Shadows in real life.... that´s not an error.
