- Join us as we follow the construction of Hyperia at THORPE PARK. Opening in 2024, this 236ft tall Mack Rides Hypercoaster will be the tallest roller coaster in the UK. In this series of construction vlogs we'll be covering the build of this exciting new roller coaster!
In this video we share the moment that THORPE PARK announced the name of this record breaking ride as Hyperia! Along with that I share my thoughts on the name and theme for the coaster along with taking a look at the latest constructing for this huge coaster!

Hi Shawn and Charlotte sometime this October or next October you should definitely try a Halloween attraction I went to last year called horror at hinchinbrooke house it is a 45-60 minute experience in a spooky, historical building located in Huntingdon Cambridgeshire it is a great themed and scary experience. You book a slot online and the dates are 21st until the 28th of October.

Well the only other theme park that can spend something like this is towers and they have a height limit.
Hyperia is amazing, from the layout to the name and even the soundtrack, it could easily be a top 10-20 in Europe.
That outer bank stall into dive loop ( I think it may be a dive loop still 😂 ) looks insane icl
It does look epic and we love the theme!
Its cool as alot of Thorpe Parks themes are kinda darker and this being brighter will be a nice change for the park, hopefully the area around it will be well themed

The Smiler is the best coaster in the UK. How has it not made your Top 10??
@liamallison8689 the smiler if you don't get front row is unbearably rough lol everytime I go I get back row so I stopped going on it. Also their list is for top 10 tallest in uk smiler doesn't even fit in there

Extremely excited for this one, exactly what Thorpe park needs tbh. I like that they’ve gone their own theme and not gone straight to another movie/tv theme (as I’m not a fan of those! 😂)

And I agree with the length, we do need some longer coasters but you’ve got to think how compact Thorpe park is and being so close to london and the airport there’s probably only so much planning permission they can get.

Big one and the smiler pack a lot into small spaces. Just have to be more imaginative with planning sometimes.
@@86wellacreok but the Big One is boring as hell with its flat layout. Also the Smiler is short (by height), has 14 inversions so doesn’t require much space, and it being compact is part of the theming

After having recently ridden Helix and the Ride to Happiness, I'm rly happy that Thorpe went with Mack, this is going to be a fantastic attraction. Thanks for keeping us updated 👍

Then straight into an insane element with airtime at 144ft that’s gonna pack a punch! Then into an insane turnaround at 165ft then a stall dive loop at 158ft plus the splashdown outwards airtime hill and final airtime hill into the brakes this is gonna be insane!!! 😍 easily the best coaster in the country

That turn around with a twist before I never seen that before on the coaster. RMC will do the same I reckon

The name itself is really amazing! I’m glad that the theme is going to be more lighter than the more darker themed rides at the park like Saw: The Ride and The Swarm. I’m honestly really excited for this!

I like the name, soundtrack, and "Find your fearless". Its like the park is using its biggest coaster as the hero for people to conquer their fears and ride the "villainous" other coasters! 😊

i am so excited for this coaster, the soundtrack is amazing and sort of reminds me of the galactica soundtrack for some reason, i think they could do an amazing entrance portal to the queue line with those wings in the logo, im so excited for the entire area around this coaster and of course the ride itself. if the theming and styling is done right this could be something world class

All the promo here is giving me Ride To Happiness vibes (maybe I’m just too used to dark themes in the Uk I dunno) but I am HERE FOR IT! My best friends never been to Thorpe Park, so I am absolutely waiting till 2024 till I drag her down there!

I really like the name. If anything, I wouldn’t have minded if it was literally called “Exodus” but I ain’t complaining! Giving me Wonder Woman vibes, I love it!

I agree with you Shaun after being on the rides in America and the length of the tracks just a shame after spending all the money on doing this project it isn't that bit longer would have been the making of it
I really like the look of this coaster and as its by MACK i can already sense the quality of the ride experience as it will feel similar to Icon, just really tall! I do wish theyd just put a couple of airtime hills at the end, i think thats a bit of a missed opportunity as it does seem a bit short, compared to icon, but i cant complain really, it looks amazing. The one thing that made me think, is the video says it shows you how it will feel - so does that mean the music as well, i.e. on board audio because the music seems timed to the coaster elements. Slowly, Thorpe Park is turning into our own little Cedar Point with its evolving skyline! Id also still like to think, one day in the next 10 years, they will go for a B&M Giga, i can dream!

Im excited but i have 1 big concern with it. We all know merlin cant do general upkeep well (the smiler) but this is all bright colours. Darker themed rides can get away with it, this one cannot at all. I just hope they look after it.
For the next coaster we need an RMC that could compete with Zadra!

I think the name hyperia is also a nice nod to the lumber theme of the past as hyperia is the river goddess and logs usually flow down the river to a lumber mill so its like the logs of loggers leap and creakfreaks are sailing for one final journeh
I think hyperia still has the potential to be an amazing coaster for the uk even though the POV looks a little short. I mean some of the best coasters in Europe, like Zadra at Energylandia, and Fenix at Toverland are pretty short rides, but they do pack a real punch! I reckon that Hyperia will be like that too!

Hyperia sounds very similar Hyperion just seems a bit unoriginal but looks a great ride and it’s Mac so can’t often go wrong

Love the name and soundtrack to this, am 100% excited to see it finally go vertical. Yeah the layout is short, also think it could of been a bit longer with maybe an extra few inversions, but mainly for me which I find disappointing & hope will happen is we get theming added to this. As coasters that are created in UK parks are good, but think theming is needed more 100% to bring story to life same goes to Sik at Flamingo Land. Think these both need immersive theming surrounding them. Be good to see it run in action, but yeah think & hope theming is really big as it will need it in my opinion especially with this name and the coaster layout. But nice vlog, enjoyed and look forward to more updates on no longer Project Exodus, but now Project Hyperia. How wrong I was about name, thought it was going to be themed around Exodus : Gods and Kings film. But glad its not as prefer original creations instead of IPs. But cheers again & look forward to next vlog & update. 😀👍

great update... Can't wait for the coaster - about time something like this finally comes here - as for the name - SHOCKING choice in my opinion - I try and not call it Hyperion @energylandia each time and have to stop myself... to everyone else, though, that hasn't been there they will just be glad this coaster will finally be here soon - it wouldn't have been a massive job for Thorpe to have thought of something out the box though for this one rather than something like this but still I can't wait to get on it like everyone else ❤

I’m glad they are moving away from dark themes. It’s like UK or should I say Merlin theme parks got addicted to dark themes for coasters. We needed a breath of fresh air.

Doing things they never can or will do at Alton Towers. Looks like Merlin has switched focus to a different park with more options and less restrictions to be the top one in the UK.

They have actually completed the smallest of the loop parts if you look at the model the left hand side is done , “mini stealth part”
Didn’t like the name at first but it’s growing on me and can’t wait to see it go vertical 😛

Ride is about 47 seconds once it goes down the main drop.....but I can't wait to experience it, has some AWESOME elements and a splash down apparently 😀

I quite like the name, love the music and am really pleased it has a lighter theme. The ride does waste a lot of energy, it can't be denied, but I think there's just enough there. Overall, I'm just pleased the UK is getting quite a "normal" coaster without an unusual gimmick or dark theme.

In a way it’s a similar theme to Colossus. I’m glad Thorpe are finally moving on from their horror / dystopian era. Unfortunately they aren’t moving on from their short ride length era.

Personally I think the name is a bit "oh that'll do" like Thorpe Park in general, Exodus would have done nicely, extremely concerned for the through put and short length of the ride, sound track decent. I still wish Thorpe had gone down B&M hyper route and made a people eater and park touring machine to be proud of. Hopefully it's decent enough to warrant the hype (no pun intended) but I won't be in the queue until I hear your thoughts Mr Sanbrooke

Hi Sean, I couldn't agree more with you about Merlin putting in place such a short Roller-coaster, Very disappointing. Merlin may claim Hyperia being the tallest 🇬🇧 Roller-coaster but The Big One in Blackpool Pleasure Beach will still remain the Uk's longest Steel Coaster lol😅 Steve from Manchester 🇬🇧
