I’ve actually started this blanket; have received the white and am waiting on my other two colors. So, while waiting, I thought I’d do the required number of white chains but I cannot locate anywhere in the transcript where you mention the number of chains needed for the completed blanket. Is there a recommended number of chains? Or did you just make the first chain to fit the need once the filet portion was complete and then count the number and replicate that for the balance of the chains needed? (Gosh, I hope my question makes sense-it’s a bit convoluted).
Ah, I just remembered you gave the dimensions of the completed blanket so I can use that as my guide…I do like a definite # of chains, though; so if you have a number to share that would be awesome. Thank you for sharing this pattern-am so excited to get one made for each of my sons for Christmas!
@@debbieedwards9508 Around 16 minutes, 142 chains worked for me. Maybe a little more or less depending on how loose your chains are. It’s also on the written pattern i-crochet.com/crochet-a-modern-farmhouse-plaid/ Make 20 of each color, 5 for each block, 4 blocks total. I hope that helps! 😊 Let me know how it goes!
@@handmadebysherri That’s exciting! I made a mistake editing the border and put too many of the same row. Or you can add it in the comments on my Pinterest account @debic321 Thanks for sharing!!
A multiple of 10 plus 1 more chain at the end. Every 10 chains will give you another square of 5 spaces to run your chain through. You would need to make 30 more chains to keep the pattern of alternating the three colors. In the pillow cover pattern, I chained 31 to give me 15 spaces, enough for 5 rows of each color. Does that make sense? Let me know if you need anything else.😊❤🧶
@@patanderson7136 I’m sorry, I haven’t tried it with a lighter weight yarn. Make one chain about an inch longer than the blanket, weave it through and it should lay flat with just the tail ends hanging over a little. I just had to keep trying until I got it right and then I made all the other chains the same length. Good luck!! What colors are you using?
You need to chain an even number to get your mesh to work out. Chain whatever length works for you. I did 224 with a 4weight yarn and 6.5mm hook it looks about twin width or a good Throw size.
@@joanlawson65 Sorry it’s confusing! I did mention it quickly in the video and it’s in the written pattern: “I found that if I made a chain of 142 it was just right for weaving in and out. You’ll need 5 chains of each color for each “block”. “ I have 4 blocks of each color, so 20 chains of each color if you’re making it the same size as mine. Does that make sense? I know I can sometimes be clear as mud! 😄
@@AngelsWips Hi! Look at the video around 18 minutes. I wove in each end of each chain as I went along. Just weave the ends back into the chain and back up to the edge and cut the ends when you feel it’s secure.

I love your videos and crochet patterns! I think you’re very talented and inspiring 💕
@@nancyherman570 You are so kind to me! Thank you very much 😊🧶
I’ve actually started this blanket; have received the white and am waiting on my other two colors.
It’s also on the written pattern i-crochet.com/crochet-a-modern-farmhouse-plaid/
Make 20 of each color, 5 for each block, 4 blocks total. I hope that helps! 😊 Let me know how it goes!
جميلة جداً ورائعة جدا❤
Thank you so much!!😊
Okay I almost finished it. I still have the border to go. I just don't know how to show my work to you
@@handmadebysherri That’s exciting! I made a mistake editing the border and put too many of the same row. It’s easier to follow if you look at the matching pillow cover video because it’s correct on that one. I’d love to see it! Email me at debi@i-crochet with a pic. Or you can add it in the comments on my Pinterest account @debic321 Thanks for sharing!!
That’s debi@i-crochet.com😊
Question please, if i want to make it bigger, chains are multiple of?
A multiple of 10 plus 1 more chain at the end. Every 10 chains will give you another square of 5 spaces to run your chain through. You would need to make 30 more chains to keep the pattern of alternating the three colors. In the pillow cover pattern, I chained 31 to give me 15 spaces, enough for 5 rows of each color. Does that make sense? Let me know if you need anything else.😊❤🧶
If you don’t want to use that thick of yarn, how many should you chain for your blanket?
@@patanderson7136 I’m sorry, I haven’t tried it with a lighter weight yarn. Make one chain about an inch longer than the blanket, weave it through and it should lay flat with just the tail ends hanging over a little. I just had to keep trying until I got it right and then I made all the other chains the same length. Good luck!! What colors are you using?
You need to chain an even number to get your mesh to work out. Chain whatever length works for you. I did 224 with a 4weight yarn and 6.5mm hook it looks about twin width or a good Throw size.
@@ladykathall Thank you!!
I’m confused. The chains are just a chain stitch right? And how many do you chain or do you guesstimate how many after you create the size?
@@joanlawson65 Sorry it’s confusing! I did mention it quickly in the video and it’s in the written pattern:
“I found that if I made a chain of 142 it was just right for weaving in and out.
You’ll need 5 chains of each color for each “block”. “
I have 4 blocks of each color, so 20 chains of each color if you’re making it the same size as mine.
Does that make sense? I know I can sometimes be clear as mud! 😄
Also, I switched to an 8mm hook for the chains and border.😊
Thank you!
@@joanlawson65 My pleasure! Please let me know if you need any help!
What size hook did you use?
9mm, but 8 or 10 would work fine also.
I also used 8mm for the border and chains. It’s in the description if you click on “more”.
You did not show what you did with the fringe before doing the border so I am confused
@@AngelsWips Hi! Look at the video around 18 minutes. I wove in each end of each chain as I went along. Just weave the ends back into the chain and back up to the edge and cut the ends when you feel it’s secure.
Yarn weight please and hook size. Thanks
Super bulky 6 weight, 9mm for the blanket, 8mm for the chains and border. If you click on “more”, there are more details.😊
👀👍🙏⚘️
Сколько метров в 100 граммах?
I believe it’s 99 meters for this yarn weight. 😊
