hard to imagine the emotions you two felt. i thought it was a telling moment when there was drone footage[ footage?] of the flight. the drones taking over what was once a helicopters job. i'm looking forward to following the adventure
Thanks for replying so quick. I am a commercially rated fixed wing pilot but lost my medical a few years ago. Always wanted to fly helicopters but that's a past dream that I fill by watching your videos. Congrats on all your success and I hope you have as lovely a child as I did 39 years ago. She is now flying for Jazz.
What an awesome looking helicopter! It was pretty awesome watching how excited you were to fly that thing. That clockwise rotating rotor would take a little bit to get used to while hovering I would imagine. I love how the front windscreen is one solid piece without the support beam to block the view. And the interior.....just pure awesome.
Compulsive viewing. So interesting, it's like the viewer is actually with you experiencing the first flight and all the excitement that brings! Just makes me want to visit Canada and learn to fly right there with you :). Great video.
funny how i haven't had the pleasure of actually meeting you guys yet, but here i sit grinning like a banshee watching that 1st departure!!! all the best in the future with GELP... she truly is an awesome looking bird and i look forward to seeing her more in flight!!! Grant
That was so exciting to watch! Congratulations Mischa and Sancho. Just yesterday I bought my tickets to come in May and didn't think I could be more excited. Then I watch this video! There's a guy over here going crazy now. And, I also have to say I have been waiting to see this dialog happen for a long time: "You have control." "I have control." loved all the ATC talk as well. It's a topic I'd love to see and know more about.
I love this little machine. Its so much fun. I was just watching the video you talk about choosing the CABRI G2. Don't you think the engine lacks of power a little bit? Is always/usually working on the edge to take off and so on... I dont know. They could done just a little bit more power. Dont you think?
Fantastic, I have just returned from a beautiful afternoons flying in a cabri G2 where I was lucky and got a flight in a gazelle. I'm looking forward to seeing some flight footage from your new cabri
That's awesome. Pretty sweet that you were able to fly the Gazelle as well. That much have been a lot of fun. We'll get the footage coming. Hopefully our weather start clearing up so we can get some sweet footage.
What a lovely helicopter you have there,I take it that you have been to the factory to fly it before you imported your own machine ? the quality of manufacture is evident, please do some more videos on autoroations and explain more about how this helicopter handles, are you the Canadian agents for Guimbal ?
Congratulations! What an awesome experience that must have been. The smile on both of your faces said it all. So did you guys flip a coin to see who got to do the first lift off?
Is there a difference in have a 3 blade main rotor then having 3 for students? I'm seriously considering getting my rotor wing rating here in the US but finding a place close to me is no luck so I will have to travel. I own my dad's Mooney M20C so traveling is not a problem but the cost is
Av8tore71 yes 3 bladed is much better and safer especially for training. I would suggest traveling if necessary. Or relocating while you are training. It’s well worth it.
....and #3 Cabri2 is arriving sooooon!🤘🚁👌🇨🇦 How come you couldn’t register as C-GELB?🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁🚁I love seeing you guys flying overhead all the time! And one day I will purchase a Cabri in Xplane and fly it from BC Helicopters site as well!
Yes they do have some great experience with building some fantastic helicopters. The Guimbal Cabri G2 is no exception to that. We are loving it for sure.
Mischa, looks like you guys had a blast on your maiden voyage! My instructor used to fly an AS350 part time when he wasn't teaching, and regarding the CW rotation he told me "you just keep the nose straight". Do you feel the same way?
Really enjoy your videos. Couple questions. What is 'Pilot Yellow'? What does it mean? Also I hear you mention 'Plasma' on/off on the checklist. What is that?
My last name is Gelb, and in German Gelb means Yellow. My background is German. The plasma is an electronic ignition like what you would have in the car. They have decided to make the engine a bit more modern by adding electronic ignition instead of just having the old magnitos. That being said they still have the redundancy of the old magnito.
No not really. I know the manufacture has a very stringent safety system in place to ensure their products are made to the highest safety standards. We check everything over as well before we go flying. They also do test flying before we receive it. It's a very safe system.
It is a new model. It has been in production since 2008. They are built in France. They are certified in over 46 countries I believe. They have almost 200 of them flying and the fleet hours is over 150,000 hours. We are very excited to be the first ones in Canada.
That looks like a nice 2 seat helicopter. I like the collective and cyclic where there always seen. The Robinson brand has this center joy stick that just seems you have to get used to. I guess you can get used to anything, even a left-handed mouse.
Why didn't Guimbal keep everything uniform when it came to main rotor direction. Could be problematic transitioning to standard configuration especially for a newly qualified pilot..
How much is it to own a helicopter like this? and what are the information I need to check with my local authority to how a machine like this in my home country?
Thanks for sharing your excitement. I almost had as much fun as you guys.

I have learned a lot about helicopters 🚁 by watching your videos

Ya it's pretty awesome. It takes a little getting used to. Not too bad unless you are doing emergencies, then it gets a little more tricky.
First flight was all smiles, congratulations fellas
Brought tears to my eyes
Congratulations
Wishing you many hours of incredible flying.
Bar safe and have fun
Aww thanks a lot.
A dream for so many of us... Congrats, guys!

awesome, great patience, and now the rest of it's life ahead of you. Congrats, I love how you got to call in the first flight in CA to ATC !
That was an awesome experience. Thanks a lot

So are the cup holder horizontal because they expect you to slam the beer all at once?
Congratulations guys, hope she flies as sweet as she looks..
Yes she sure does. We love it and we think our students will love it too.
Great job guys, well done.....
great looking aircraft and a late congrats, your enthusiasm is so infectious good job guys and a great vid
I saw you take delivery and build. Then the first run up video. I was so excited to see the first flight as if it was my own haha! Great videos.

Awesome machine! Congratulations #bchelicopters
looks amazing with some great filming... and congrats on beating the 6k sub mark
Thank you so much
How much does this helicopter cost??
you know how long it took me to "get" the registration and the "b"?? safe flying
just epic, thanks for bringing us along. I only wish youtube had another 10 like buttons for this video! :)
Aww thanks man.
Congratulations! What an awesome experience that must have been. The smile on both of your faces said it all. So did you guys flip a coin to see who got to do the first lift off?
No coin flip, it's just a given that the younger brother gets to do the first liftoff. ;)
Congratulations on your first flight
saw you flying over dewdney by stave lake april 7 at 245 the G2 looks sweet
Awesome, that's sweet. That was me.
congratulations! Hopefully I'll get to fly one if I train with you guys!
We would love that.
My favourite helicopter in X Plane 😁
Very nice
Superb video!! Great little chopper. Your videos are excellent- I've subscribed 👍🏼😎
Thanks a lot man, it's great to have you on the channel.
Awesome thanks so much, it's fantastic to have you.

very exciting!! Congratulations on the first flight. i'm looking forward to seeing much more of that helicopter far away from that damn French air.
beautiful bird!

proud to be French ! and congratulations !
Very nice alternative to an R22, that machine looks better in every way
Yes they do have some great experience with building some fantastic helicopters. The Guimbal Cabri G2 is no exception to that. We are loving it for sure.

Bear paws? Floats?
congratulations 🚁
Rock on brother good for you
Just wondering, flying brand new Copter for the first time, are you nervous, or is it just like going from one model of automobile to another?
No not really. I know the manufacture has a very stringent safety system in place to ensure their products are made to the highest safety standards. We check everything over as well before we go flying. They also do test flying before we receive it. It's a very safe system.
Thanks, and by the way, the color is awesome.
Thanks
Who owns the company
Pretty Bird!!!
7:55 Used an Mavic for this shot?
Yes it was
So...does Robinson (R22) suck in comparison?
Ari Lehtiniemi I would never buy a Robinson.
Totally awesome :)
Awesome!
thanks man
🚁 Congratulations 🚁
Wait.. did you request GELP because it sounds like GELB? :D Awesome chopper btw.. big fan of it's safety features as well!
Haha yes it was the closest we could get to GELB.
Love it, congratulations FROM Montgomery Alabama jjmbunnyhopping
This helicopter must be a new model or home built?
I understand it was the first flight in Canada.
Thanks for the great video...
It is a new model. It has been in production since 2008. They are built in France. They are certified in over 46 countries I believe. They have almost 200 of them flying and the fleet hours is over 150,000 hours. We are very excited to be the first ones in Canada.

I guess you can get used to anything, even a left-handed mouse.
True, except with a conventional cyclic you can get a more steady hand on it especially in turbulence.
Can't wait to come! And fly cabri ! 😍
Looking forward to having you.
Awesome.
damm that new helicopter is sweet
I'm starting on a G2 then moving to finish up on a airbus h130.
Why didn't Guimbal keep everything uniform when it came to main rotor direction. Could be problematic transitioning to standard configuration especially for a newly qualified pilot..
The sideslip indicator is CAN$ 1.00 peice of string. I was expecting a digital ball center rendered to look like traditional ball in alcohol.
Congratulations Guys ,,fully articulated Rotors Can't imagine how Smooth
Yes it's super smooth.
nice
How much is it to own a helicopter like this? and what are the information I need to check with my local authority to how a machine like this in my home country?
Almost sounds like a lawnmower on start up
And the fences come tumbling down because you can fly over the top of them.
You bet
Think of taking a cat with you
TODAY is not like every day. 🤣
I like helicopters but your videos are boring ... from presentation and talking ...
Annoying people
