FLYING A CABRI G2 in New Zealand

- My friend Mike let me use his helicopter to go for a flight. I got to see what it was really like flying around here in the mountains and exploring. It was really awesome being able to fly a Guimbal Cabri G2 in a different part of the world.

Flying the South Island is totally different terrain again with snow and knife edge southern alps for the heights. Cool look around the inland behind the Kapiti Coast

great we chopper nice contolls and large open cockpit plus the controls are not nearly as sensitive as in say the r22s and 44s great flyign

The snowy mountains are in the South Island, North and South Islands of NZ are literally like chalk and cheese.

Is it just me or is the G2's ASI horrible at displaying an accurate low airspeed? I've just started instructing in one and it's certainly not as accurate as a standard ASI at low speed.
The take-off with door wide open, does that replace the air conditioner?

Miroslav Danko that would have been really fun. We saw the jet boats and visited the Huka Falls yesterday. It would have been fun to meet you. We are up in Auckland now. We fly home tomorrow. Maybe on our next time over though.

North island is more Bush and mountains the south island is more glaciers and lakes
South Island has southern alps with lots more mountains and bigger and more snow

Bit confused though. Maybe it's just me. You seem to be playing the game from both ends. As one who in other videos pointed out that your transition though the 07 / 08 crash was nerve wrecking at best how are you preparing financially for the next hit....which cyclically we know will eventually show up?

Hey Micha, just a small comment. It is illegal under NZ law to rebroadcast NZ aviation radio traffic. I understand that in the USA and Canada it's totally acceptable. I don't know why it is this way here, personally I think it's stupid but I didn't make the rules. You probably won't get into trouble, but you never know.

Rick Jones lots of great questions. We will see. Their company name is IMZ Inc. I believe. But it’s not fully operational at the moment. They are just learning to fly. They would like to get something kicked off though to keep the heli flying. I’m not sure what their Facebook pages are but you may be able to look them up through the Kapiti Aero Club.
