Great instructor. Friendly, competent and very encouraging to the student pilot. A credit to your flight school.
Yes. Very good instructor.
Where is this
This Instructor is such a ease by the look of his teaching.
Yes, this helicopter flight instructor is really good at simplifying flying techniques, he is patient and calm. He is very professional coz he makes it look very easy to fly.
All of my students (fixed wing) were men, and none of them displayed the happiness of this young lady. Her instructor helped her to rapidly improve her hover, which is something that troubles so many students. When it comes to aircraft controls, less is more. Also, I am amazed at the good weather that day in Elstree. I always picture UK weather as rainy and dismal. I am glad that this dispelled that idea.
Rachel had so many great questions.
Very professional and knowledgeable instructor , very impressive how he’s explaining everything in a very easy way to understand on how to manage flying a chopper .
Indeed a ger8 instructor and definitely has a remarkable technique to teach.honestly I’ve no idea how he’s focused on flying and teaching while sitting next to such a cutie 🥰
You’re the one ☝️ well done
I must say, I've seen a fair amount of training videos that are out there on YT and found this video to rank as one of the best, if not the best, that I have seen of late. Friendly, calm instructor that actually explains his actions and that of the helicopter when explaining the helicopter reacting to his in-puts on either the pedals, cyclic or collective. I found that to be quite nice to see. Also that he didn't mind praising the young lady's efforts, because, frankly, she did exceptionally well. I can see that this young instructor will be bringing in new aspiring helicopter pilots in the near future. Well done, young man. Keep up the great work. Fair winds and safe flying.
2 years later - Rachel is a Eurocopter EC155 pilot :)
Wow, 2 yrs well done.. private or emergency services?
Well done I'm just thinking of having a try again flght training so fingers crossed 😃 now I have money to pay for lessons in helicopter flight training but well done to you, best wishes , Peter 😃
Well done.. I bet that cost a fair bit!

That is super cool😎 I wished I would have learned how to fly when I was younger. I am almost 70 years old now my dad‘s cousin lived in Oregon and owned a mooney super 21. My dad‘s cousin was a very wealthy man. He owned logging trucks and also worked on Peter Green. Damn he had plenty of dynamite ha ha he wanted to teach me how to fly and boy did. I want to learn, but my mom was always afraid of flying, and she convinced my dad not to let me learn kind of broke my heart, I had to find a new hobby. I have a safe hobby I’m a solo instrumental guitarist, but I sure wished I would’ve learned how to fly too late now, but I sure enjoy it when I can go up a great video I wish that beautiful lady all the luck in the world. I hope she learns how to fly, especially a helicopter there are not easy I’ve been told have a great day. I love this video.😆😁😎🎸
Stumbled across this by accident and was then riveted by the whole video. Never even thought about flying anything let alone a helicopter, but this really has me intrigued! Congrats to Rachel for a valiant effort!
Ditto. Awesome 😊

I did my first helicopter trial at the very same airfield back in the 90s. The instructor is a true professional and will be a great mentor for any student pilot! Full marks!
Agreed...very calm abd communicates so well. My instructor back in 90s had some odd habits of going into threat type grimaced and facial stressor that became very unerving. He was aware but hadn't been told it can be quite distracting. He asked when he did it and I said when I took the controlls..lol I was a technically decent student coming from 20 years fixed wing multi engine prop and jet aviation for Government and could be overly agressive at the much more sensitive touch needed for help driving. He said I CAN TELL. LOL GOOD MATE.
I am a helicopter watcher/enthusiast-RC Pilot.... this is the best demonstration of how to operate helicopter controls I have EVER seen... and I have seen a lot over the last several years. Thank You and please keep them coming !!!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! More on the way soon.
Having been an instructor, I would say Rachel concentrated well, asked all the relevant questions (including "why did you open the door" which was what most viewers were thinking) and showed a rapid improvement for each task she was given - which is all you can ask of a first attempt. She was focused and alert. She even had the slight look of fear as she was about to take control for the first time.
She may have joked she won't be going to flying school anytime soon but I would say she would be a good candidate.
A very enjoyable video with good visuals and good audio.
If this was her fifth flight i would say she did an incredible job of flying, but as it was her first flight, I'm blown away by her abilities and understanding. 17:49
what an amazing instructor well done superbly explaining how to fly a helicopter
Well done great video. I took lesson at northeast helicopter in Ellington Connecticut !❤️
Great instructor, really explained everything to the student so well.
I’ve flown on several orientation flights on both fixed n rotary at different schools.. this instructor is best I’ve seen so far.
V comprehensive and clear. Even the rt with atc was easy to understand.. helicopters r difficult to fly but a lot of fun..
His students are lucky to hv him as their instructor…
When she said "Do i hold this" i stopped working and had to look up lol great video
Yeah agreed. I will let her hold the stick anytime 😊
The best beginner helicopter video I have seen. Looks like fun and challenging too.
Very nice video. Audio and camera positions are superb. Good luck to Rachel if she continues with the PPL (H). Please keep the videos coming.
Brilliant instructor. So patient and calm. I’m sure he’s seen a lot to be so good at what he does.
Agreed. Well typed.
Congratulations beth we are so proud of you.the dca in south africa grounded me permanently at the start of my ppl due to high blood pressure. Wise decision as i had a stroke in 1999.so my dream shattered.good luck im following your career
Best wishes from South Africa. Broederstroom
Fantastic video. i hope she keeps going with it.good luck!,
Great job with the flight instruction and the explanation of each item in order to conduct a safe flight, even the "why did you open the door"? I was a pilot and instructor back few years ago and that bought a chuckle as had the same comment couple times...........take care and safe flying!
one of the best helicopter videos on YT!
She would make a brilliant helicopter pilot. She asked some great questions too. Bravo!
Excellent video. I am taking my 1st exploratory flight in 2 days to see if it is something I can do. Been on my bucket list since I as a child. Now 62 yrs old, I am finally going to be able to give it a shot. This was very informative and gives me a good idea of what to expect. Thanks for the video.
@sinkher1st Did you take your exploratory flight and if so, how did you find it?
I got my helicopter rating at 68 years of age. I had a commercial airplane, seaplane and glider rating. Age is only a number.
Wow! Great tutorial. I love watching this. Calm instuction and great camera shots. Calm happy student . I just did my into flight at BC helicopters , in the same helicopter.
This should have WAY more views
It's very clever of him to introduce each control separately, while taking the other controls and explaining what hers does and what effects it has. Gorgeous helicopter, student, and teaching! :-) It sounds like someone left his cell phone on and the audio system is picking up the digital transmissions. :-p This is one reason for AIRPLANE MODE! ;-)
Splendid !!! To BOTH of you!
Excellent introduction to helicopter flying. I loved it.
Gr8 instructor such a gentleman. Enjoyed every second of the lesson. Wish i was nearby to take lessons.
Just happened across this video by accident also! Absolutely could not stop watching till the end. So very real in all the aspects of learning what helicopters do. Top instructor too. Rachel is a very able student. I was impressed at what she was able to do on the first flight. Ten out of ten Rachel. Very interesting and entertaining video. Well done. Apart from the cost, it would make a lot of people want to head to the field and have a go..... Cheers.
Was pleasure watching.
This is by far, one of the best "trial lesson" videos I've ever seen! Being a PUT myself, I can see just from this excellent footage just how stable the G2 is in comparison to its basic & dated American equivalent... I imagine that QFI uses that cringetastic cyclic line with every female on a trial lesson 🤣🤭 glossing swiftly on, I'm hoping to get back into learning as my last hour with an instructor was a decade ago this year, that was however in a flimsy r22 & I plan on restarting my lessons/logbook in a G2, they look an extremely modern, well built, robust & stable design, based on well known European design qualities & mixing new modern technology & safety features into a beautifully crafted little two seat light piston helicopter! Ideal for training in by comparison to Frank's now almost 50 year old teetering deathtrap of an aircraft.
the basic American equivelent. You mean r22? If you can handle those, you'll find the turbines are easier by comparison
Very Cool vid. and awesome instructor enjoyed it very much Thx.
My second flight/ hour this last Saturday. Chipping away each week. Great instructor and good student in this vid.
Hope your journey continues.
I love these videos. I earned my fixed wing ratings in 1979. In 1982, I started learning how to fly RC helicopters which I still enjoy these days in 2020. Around 1985 or so, I took my first flight in an a helicopter, a 194? Hiller OH23D. As a rated pilot and a reasonably competent RC helicopter pilot, I was hopeful that my RC experience might help with the full size bird. We did the same basic scenario as the instructor did in this video. We flew around for a while and then settled in an off airport field for the hover work. First the tail rotor, then the collective, then the cyclic. The tail and collective weren't much of a problem. The cyclic was a rodeo. I was all over the place. The only thing my RC experience did for me was that I fully understood what I was doing wrong but that didn't help me fix it. I was rowing the cyclic all over the place until I finally got angry enough to just freeze on the cyclic control in one position until the aircraft started moving in one given direction and then trying to neutralize that and then working on the next direction. I finally got it stabilized, relatively speaking, but it was sure an eye opening experience. ;-)
Yes Steven you right I did first big helicopter in USA Bell 47 and than Rc in the helicopter it was after many hours easy to fly and Solos as well, but on Rc it was a total different ball game 10 - 4 crash after crash for a long time, now I fly Turbine Rc as well still very difficult like big shopper but one flight hour about 4 - 500, - € in Germany.
@@Novadean1 - they're both challenging in their own way, that's for sure! The biggest advantage the RC versions have is that when you do have a mishap, the only thing that says ouch is your wallet. I eventually ended up with about 6 to 7 hours dual instruction in the 1:1 scale birds. Ultimately, it wasn't something I could afford.
Thanks for a very informative video .
Great video and advert for your school!
For a moment I thought "Who wears a necktie and a v-neck sweater to fly a helicopter?" but then he started talking and I realized "Oh, he's just British."
He's a jew
She'll do splendid! 👍
Brilliant ! Really enjoyed that
that md520 at the start looks coooool
Great instructor .
Oh, how fun!!!
Great instructor, very calm.
Good teacher !
Wow greatest flyer instruct tech ever!!
This guy has got 1000 x more patience than i will ever be able to have.
I would have liked to have done my license thru him. Although my instructor were very good i would have prefer this guy.
well done to the young lady and a very good instructor and a very good and safe helicopter
Very impressed with the instructor.
I've built a VR helicopter rig, based on the G2.
So this video is very helpful for me.
She did great as well.
Thanks! If you need any other info on the Cabri just email us at aviation@ice.co.uk and we'd be happy to help with your VR rig. We are in the process of setting up our own simulator too!
@@ICEHelicopters Oh cool! I'll send some photos of what I'm doing. I have something for you that nobody else has 😁👍🚁
@@ICEHelicopters emailed you 👍
Very nice flight !!!
Very nice video ...
Cool instructions easy to understand, you have a Munu supporter.
I was SOOO bummed when he said the joystick buttons was for radio. I was really hoping for cool missiles
Spettacolare, very nice video and She is Very good student.
Thanks for the great video. Helicopters are just fascinating. Just looking at the cockpit of the Cabri G2 it looks like another generation compared to the R22/R44/R66. Apparently they are less critical to fly too.
The feeling of flying is greater a feeling than any Drug..Flying is hardly a job...it's a privelledge only matched by Carrier Landing a Multimillion dollar Government Millitary Je
Great Instrtuctor, i almost flew away with my office chair. explained great
Intelligent Lady IMPRESSIVE
Good Instructor.
An Instructive pleasure to watch.
An Appreciative
Raptor Rob 👍👍
Super cool video... I wanna learn to fly !!!
Well done 👌
I thurly enjoyed the short flight, but what a lot to learn about flying a helicopter, hope the young student gets on ok & passes the test & has great days ahead of her flying helecopters,. P S keep safe.
wow thats awesome
Nice graphics! And good physics, rather realistic!😂
Instructor was absolutely brilliant throughly enjoyed watching this video. I plan to have a trial experience in a helicopter soon hope my pilot is as good as you. Wow your not that far away to come visit will look into coming there. Do you have a link to your website to check out further details please.🇬🇧❤️👍
Good instruction.
Wished my students looked like that.
Really like this video you are a good instructor
I would love to fly an early copter which I have cerebral palsy
I will not be able to
I’ve subscribed to your channel
Stumbled across this video in a YT rabbit-hole, I think I definitely wanna have lessons now!
so patient, really interesting to watch how easy it is to overcorrect,i would love to have lessons, maybe one day awesome
Remember not to switch off the fan at any cost however cold you might feel.
Everyone here commenting about the instructor, who is great don't get me wrong, but what a great student as well. She was asking all the right questions and seemed very interested. She would be an excellent pilot some day.
Interesting how the brain works to build muscle memory. She's new at it and understandably loses control during the hovering at the end and he takes over and instantly stabilizes it with little effort. If she continues, she'll eventually have that control and confidence as well. Great video.
Cabri looks like such a nice ship to fly. I trained on the R22, and first saw the G2 on PilotYellow's channel. Can't find a school close that has one here in GA (closest is waaaay down in Macon :P )
ahh MIddle Georgia State
notar looks lovely
This 2 persons are such a sweet match. I just hope that they get together and have baby helicopters! :)
That's really creepy
Nice!!! love itII Lesson 2?

It is so beautiful. That 520N.
RUS: Симпатичная девушка!!! Удачи ей в обучении!!! Видео просто супер!!!
ENG: Nice girl!!! Good luck with her learning!!! The video is just super!!!
Bon instructeur 👍
Fantástico.
Rachel is very pretty, O ya the chopper looks ok too
top marks
Impressed how quickly she got the hover with the cyclic I was all over the place
Legend has it,
It is still cooling off today... 🤪
Kool
What a delightful couple of people. My instructor was not as nice as this chap and the lady is absolutely beautiful, (makes me sad my partner has a face like a rhinos arse). I notice the string on the windshield is still used today as it was when I learnt to fly, and it will be used a long time after I am gone lol.
Well done…your on your way…be safe…
Mesmerising lesson, clear unhurried calm … just wish it had been me…
The instructor could make a Tourette dude fly that whirly bird for sure😂🎉Beautiful student btw
The QHI reminds me of the character Will McKenzie from the Inbetweeners…..😂😂😂
This has got to be the best introductory helicopter video I've ever seen! Well shot and packed with practical details from start to finish. The only downside is pervert me was constantly finding himself distracted by her lovely legs.
phew,i thought it was just me.
Me too lol
A pervert wouldn’t be distracted by her legs. He-he
Does this helicopter have a governor to keep rpm’s in the operating range? I have about 8 hrs time from 40 years ago in a Hughes 269 and Bell 47 and had to change throttle every time you moved other controls to maintain rotor in the green range, only turbine powered had governed powerplants. That must make it easier? It was so fun to fly a helicopter, wish I had the budget to get a add on rating.
Bravo! Easy to crash,
Safer than a lot of people might think.
Come to America anytime.👍🇬🇧☠️💕🇺🇸
Would it be possible to put a small rear facing camera on the cabin to see the tail?
I am not a pilot of any kind. With that string on the windshield can you use that as a reference point for maintaining specific attitudes? Or does it just look like you could in the video?
