  • On Friday, June 16, 2023, the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, in collaboration with Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., conducted a cleanup operation at Venice Beach to address the homeless encampment. To ensure safety, sanitation workers wore white hazardous materials suits as part of the protocol. LAHSA (Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority) was also present, offering homeless outreach during the operation.
The motivation behind this operation was the significant health and safety concerns posed to both the unhoused individuals and the general public.
The cleanup involved two separate waste management teams with different roles working together. The City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, identifiable by their yellow safety vests, and Clean Harbors Environmental Services Inc., identifiable by their orange safety vests. The Clean Harbors team began by sorting through the garbage to identify, collect, and segregate hazardous waste items such as batteries, urine, syringes, and more. Once the hazardous waste was collected, the sanitation workers from Los Angeles Public Works took over to collect the remaining garbage.
In order to ensure the safety of all individuals involved and secure compliance from the unhoused population, Los Angeles Park Rangers maintained a constant presence throughout the duration of the cleanup operation, which aimed to preserve cleanliness and hygiene in the area.
The City of Los Angeles has been actively addressing the homelessness issue, and the Venice Beach cleanup is just one part of their ongoing efforts. It is important to recognize that these cleanups do not offer a solution to the larger issue of homelessness. The City of Los Angeles is actively working on implementing long-term solutions to address the root causes of homelessness and provide necessary resources.
In summary, the cleanup of homeless encampments in Venice is a significant step towards improving public health and safety. It also aims to restore the restrooms to their intended use. The City of Los Angeles remains committed to addressing the homelessness issue in the area and will continue its efforts towards long-term solutions.

Afraid so. And not just at the beaches, so many people are ruining the forests with graffiti, illegal campfires, Satanic rituals, or acts of arson resulting in brush fires as a result, more trash from parties and beer blasts, and other kinds of other damage or destruction. This is why drugs should have a hefty punishment and the state should not be giving out free drug paraphernalia and safe spaces for them to continue this harmful and illegal addiction. We need more mental institutions to help these people who need it. The public deserves to be safe, these liberal cities and their policies must change or this will continually get worse. We must make it harder for them to attain drugs and the paraphernalia. If we need more homeless shelters, then we need to open them. Those that are mentally ill need to be in mental institutions. What’s going on now is not working.

You have to do something immediately before it becomes a 3rd world country, 1 tent turns into a 100 in a week, stop it with the 1st tent.

Are those homeless using drugs? And then people is walking in the beach and children. Needles? 24/7 cleaning and security. It is dangerous to walk there. How many man needs to clean there. One or two clean others watching. Build new toilets. Restrooms. And worker that homeless can not live in restrooms. Time for toilet using and out 10 min. And out. What is coverment thinking and President?

Make that crime to live in outside. That they must go in jail. How many days it takes homeless to get that much trash to the beach?! that is on the video. Car seat?😂it is heavy urin bottle. And they left trash. Homeless i mean. All that stuff/trash. Make homeless clean the own shit trash. No workers. That dont work i think. If homeless dont clean them self. Jail If they don't clean. Example you must clean restroom/toilet every day. And those are dirty because homeless live in it. How about if children need toilets? Get away toilets in there. New toilets and time line for using and money locks. It is dangerous to be there aroud homeless. People make money in work and buy and pay aparment, Houses and they must watch homeless on The Window. In Expensive area.
