- Noddy Holder of Slade and David Essex discussing the 1970s on TV-am's Good Morning Britain on 17 August 1990, with presenters Lorraine Kelly and Richard Keys.
Just listen to that live clip of Slade again. The power and volume is immense ! There's no mucking about or fancy effects going on there. That's what raw RnR sounds like kids
Saw Slade live in Cardiff late '81 as a kid. They were absolutely deafening! As loud as Motorhead, never forget it, amazing power.
I had this on video years ago always used to watch it noddy holder great bloke keep on rockin
The 70s was without doubt the greatest decade for music

When they asked Noddy if he'd like a kipper tie, he said "Yes, two sugars please!"
The glorious 70s .
David is soo cute. 💋💋
class, hard to believe this was 31 years ago
Felt sorry for these guys regarding taxes in Britain! That’s why so many artists shifted to Europe and US to get away from the high taxes. I do admire loyalty, and these guys and many artists in England forged their roots there..
Was that a reference.tp.jimmy saville at.the start?
David clearly says that he got to number 1 in America with Rock On and compares its sales, in America with the cover version in 1989, which did reach number 1, as he said. But according to wikipedia, David peaked at number 5.
It did get to number 1 in Canada.
Well technically he isn’t wrong. If he was No. 1 in Canada that counts as part of America. He didn’t say the No. 1 was in the US, only that he had substantial sales in the US 😁

11.29, sounds like Noddy dropped one when he stretched.
Lorraine always sounded like someone's mum and I'm glad the guy with news got sorted for being patronising!

Dlaczego pani speaker mówi szeptem a nie pełnym głosem?
Embarrassing they mention Gary Glitter
Well yeah but in fairness this was before he was discovered to be a pedo nonce.
Host " Garry Glitter" Noddy "Who"
Noddy could have and should have been a policeman
Are they talking about Jimmy Savile at the start?
I guess none of his and Glitter's crimes were publicly known at that time.
Paying 83p Income Tax in every Pound....same old Labour, government.
I would’ve been tempted to say the 17p in pound they did make was too much 😂
Reminds me of max bygraves…
