Just listen to that live clip of Slade again. The power and volume is immense ! There's no mucking about or fancy effects going on there. That's what raw RnR sounds like kids

Saw Slade live in Cardiff late '81 as a kid. They were absolutely deafening! As loud as Motorhead, never forget it, amazing power.

Felt sorry for these guys regarding taxes in Britain! That’s why so many artists shifted to Europe and US to get away from the high taxes. I do admire loyalty, and these guys and many artists in England forged their roots there..

David clearly says that he got to number 1 in America with Rock On and compares its sales, in America with the cover version in 1989, which did reach number 1, as he said. But according to wikipedia, David peaked at number 5.
It did get to number 1 in Canada.

Well technically he isn’t wrong. If he was No. 1 in Canada that counts as part of America. He didn’t say the No. 1 was in the US, only that he had substantial sales in the US 😁

Are they talking about Jimmy Savile at the start?
I guess none of his and Glitter's crimes were publicly known at that time.
