You are putting out lots of consistent, quality content. I appreciate the effort and work you are putting into this channel. Keep it up man, you deserve a million subs!
Thank you for this video. I've been a live bait guy all my life (69 years old), and I want to try plastics. Your presentation on this subject is great. New Subscriber from Duluth 🌲🌲🌲
Great overall video on plastics. I wish we could get away with lighter weights in Lake Erie but it rarely settles down enough and we drift too fast. What about Ned Rigs? Short stick baits are killer sometimes too. Also, during the mayfly hatch, Ned Rigs with a Lunker City Hellgie is great.
@@codybertram6122 For Lake Erie, it's tough to do. We use a drift sock to slow the boat's drift but if the boat is moving at a fast clip the only possible solution is to fish the swing . Even then you only have a brief minute to work your bait until the bait starts moving with the drift. On high pressure weather days, the fish won't chase.
Excellent video, straight to the point, informative, and after watching your how to select the right jig video I think I know what my picks will be for upcoming walleye tournaments later this year. Plain old round head, lead jig and chartreuse, purple, black, white or orange curly tail (could be combinations of those colors). Lead round head jigs just because they are cheap and areas of Danube that I fish are full of snags (formations 30lb+ rocks) and curly tails because I like their presentations the most, maybe some ribbed paddle tails too.
Great informative video! Heading to N. MN to walleye fish next month. Hoping to use less live bait and this is helpful. My fear is we’ll catch less. Those 6+ eyes an hour at sunset are amazing. Used your link for Billy Rub
Great Video. I'm in Alabama and just got back from a week up in NW Ontario walleye fishing. I make a trip once a year but have a question from watching your video. I noticed you hold a paddle tail with tail "down" but show a moving bait with it rigged with the paddle "up." I know there must be a difference in vibration and maybe speed. Do you do this on purpose and if so, when and why make that switch? Thanks in advance. We have Sauger and a few walleye here in the Tennessee river and I'll work on them this winter.
Here’s my answer. You just get more out of the bait that way. When one side gets tore up, I flip it over and re hook it. I haven’t noticed a difference in how fish react to the orientation so I don’t worry about it too much.
I just troll mini crankbaits but now the water level is wayyy up and I cant get down to the fish anymore. Anything pink or purple and deep diving usually slays but the water is like 15 feet higher into the trees now. Got to pull some plastics thru the brush this year.
As someone who’s relocating to Wisconsin (from Colorado), I’m new to walleye fishing and these videos are super helpful.
Good to hear! What part of Colorado?

You bet! And thanks!
Keitechs and B fish'n are my favorites out on the river.
Classics for sure!
Another great video. I enjoy the depth that you go into with your videos. Keep it up. 👍🏼
Thanks! I’ll do my best!
Thank you for this. I’m getting ready for my second season of focused fishing. And this is good to be extremely valuable
Good deal! Glad you found it useful.
@@calebwistad absolutely the wife and I bought a fishing boat last year. Had a little success this was extremely helpful and informative.
Lots of great info here! You do a fantastic job with these style of videos!
Thanks man!

Have you tried drop shotting or Tokyo rigs to get the weight you need to get the plastic down while also leaving the plastic and hook weightless
Ned rigs and small insect plastics both work!

Nice! We caught 4 nice walleyes today with 0 live bait. You don’t always need it!
Thank you so much for your videos! I have learned so much with your jig video and this video to catch walleye!
Awesome! Good to hear!
Excellent content and attention to detail. This is an outstanding channel. I hope you reach 100k subscribers soon. Please keep up the good work.
Thanks so much!
Great stuff, thanks! I’m getting ready for a BWCA trip in June, and am trying to keep things simple to get my first walleye. This helps.
This one might help too! ruclips.net/video/0FYHhQcGqzU/видео.htmlsi=6taufNJXdES0NsHA

We don’t have those here in Mississippi but I’d sure love to catch one
I’d do it if you get the chance!
Can any of the plastics absorb the power bait solutions?
I think any plastic can to some degree but I prefer using thicker grease or paste scents that stick to the plastic and the jig like Billy Rub.
For fishing the Susquehanna and just preference I love zoom swim baits for stripped bass small mouth large mouth and walleyes they catch everything
Which ones work best?
@@calebwistad blue pearl and white ice and plane white are my 3 favorite. I like the paddle tails better
@@calebwistad and to add to that if you want color to them just dip them in spike-it dip and glow
And disco violet

Got to adapt!
What do you think about the walleye assassin swim baits?
They are great little swimbaits actually.
Great because I spent a little to much money on them and almost doubled on every color they make
Great wealth of information!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
Great info as always
Thanks!
Awesome info! thanks
Thank you!
awesome as always
Thanks!

Thank you sir.
My boyfriend's gonna wonder how I catch more fish than him 😜 lol thanks!
Haha. Nice!👍
