Not an icon fan but the ability to change from a street helmet to an off-road helmet with something so simple is pretty dope. Applause to Icon for that!
Oh very nice. My Shark can do that too but I will say it's still a bit too hot for real off roading in Texas summers. Icon variant is also too hot. So far I haven't seen a street/dual sport/off road helmet that stays cool like a full on off road or MX helmet does. I love the versatility of these helmets and that Airflire looks pretty cool like that.

Ok that is badass brother. That just took this helmet to another level completely. Icon is changing the helmet game one Lid at a time and I must say I am impressed. And yes the Airflight Rubatone is the best color, hard as hell to keep clean but killer looking once it is.
curious, what is your padding set up and helmet size? i have new to me medium/large shell airflite and trying to find the right padding combo. currently wear a large Arai signet q with Arai's large cheek pads and liner...getting ready to try 2xl cheek pads and xl liner for the airflite...it came with large cheek pads and liner those were surprisingly snug since i am extra long oval with head shape. love this channel!
A new variant is coming soonish, I read. Here's hoping it's lighter, toolless, and holds up better for daily riding because that was a fantastic lid for commuting.

Hey man, I've been thinking about picking up this helmet for awhile. But I am not sure on sizing. I currently wear a size large Icon Variant and it fits great. Should I size up for the airflite?
I dunno.. I have mirror visor on my adventurehelmet, but when I need airflow or better lighting I just flip it up and put on goggles. The visor rests under the shadethingy and it doesnt change the airflow around the helmet noticably.
I think I'll go for the Variant Pro. I have been thinking about the Airflite with the peak but not if I have to rock goggles or glasses with it. So, thanks! Made my decision.
I bought an airflite because of chase's review video, but I noticed his tinted visor is way more reflective than mine is. Has anyone else seen that? And the fact the the fliteshield is not even remotely scratch resistant, mine is trashed from tiny little scratches
Looks good but the peaks do nothing but catch the wind and rip your head off at the neck. That was the whole reason i brought an airflite to accompany my variant.
I was gonna get the Airflite, however even the 3x wouldn't fit even though according to the size chart it should have. The rubatone with the blue faceshield was a great look, but not for me I guess
Cool setup! Love taking a custom twist on a stock helmet. (and taking a healthy twist on nutrition!) Did similar with my Bell MX-9 adventure (keep with it boi you got this!) Taking the peak off turned it from dirt helmet to aggressive street bucket (stay hydrated and keep being awesome!)
Motocross helmets are mostly not DOT-ECE approved making them not street legal. Also. for those of us with odd helmet head, i only managed to fit into Airflight or Variant, and Airflight was cheaper but i ride ADV - so best of both worlds!! :D
You have some different laws in the U.S. huh?... I understand about the helmets being approved. Seems weird in a country where I see lotsa guys riding with no helmets. A state deal I guess. The ease with getting yr license one week and then getting a superbike the next is amazing... although I'm not so au-fait with the laws. In Oz you start on a bike @660cc or less and have three plates (L redp greenp) before an open license and about 2 years at least. Makes me wish I grew up in Texas!...
@@relativetruth8889 Yes. It's definitely a state by state case with helmet laws. Here in Pennsylvania, you have to wear a helmet and cannot haul a passenger or ride from sundown to sunrise with a motorcycle permit. Once you pass the test and get your full motorcycle license, you no longer have to wear a helmet and can ride whenever you like with or without a passenger. Just south of us, in Maryland, you must wear a helmet anytime you ride, regardless of a full license or not.

that's great and all, but I only ride on the street.
This setup would come in handy on super hot days though.

The new Variant comes out next season. You can run the peak and shield the same time on our current Variant and the new Variant Pro coming out.
