The large buckets are difficult to carry these days so I purchased 2 gallon buckets with lids at Walmart. The hubby and I can carry our own.😁
Your puppy walked by to remind you that they need a bucket too.
Add utensils...bowls
I have an emergency meal bucket that also includes innstant voffeee and a variety of drink powders. I added water purification tabets mine is set up for one person, probably for 5 or 6 days but it could feed 4 for probably 3 days
If you get rid of the packaging on some items, you can actually increase your oats, rice, and other dried goods.
Instant milk, coffee, tea, chocolate, bear Creek soup really good comes in a package
Definitely chocolate! ❤
Don't forget your can opener! This was a great video and helpful comments! ❤
OMG This should be the PINNED COMMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!📌📌📌📌📌📌
even if you don't bug out, these type buckets would be good to have to give to a neighbor or relative who wasn't "ready"
Great idea Jinne! I was sitting here thinking what a great idea to make these for family and friends as gifts. I know my family members would love these.
Old pill bottles are great for spices.RX, aspirin, Advil or vitamin for example.Make sure to pack paper plates, plastic utensils, bowls and small pan.
Love the idea of keeping the bug-out food in a 5-gallon bucket!
Great! Paper plates and bowls plastic cutlery. 👍
Been working on food for my get home bag. Decided to go with Jerky (two 8oz. Bags) and Clif bars (12). Two 2,000 calorie days with a lot of protein. Also, some electrolyte packets to avoid leg cramps, especially. Thanks for the video!
👍Healthy choices!
Never tried jerky. What's a good brand?
@@missperfect2657Jack Links is good
You need a can opener and matches and silverware and plates or bowls
I made me one too I did rice and pinto beans also veg all cans of chicken and tuna egg noodles in Mylar with a can of roast beef and mushroom soup and other things too!!
I buy the Hereford Roast Beef in the larger cans. Good with mashed or fried potatoes.
Great info! I would include storage bags if you need to store extra leftovers
Thanks. I’m thinking of putting one together for my son’s family.
GoGo Squeeze applesauce pouches, applesauce cups, fruit cups, fast food packets of salt, pepper, ketchup, taco sauce, mayo, etc., precooked rice in packets, oatmeal packets, canned chili and roast beef, crackers, something chocolate, plastic utensils, napkins and JINNIE YOU FORGOT TO PUT IN THE MATCHES! 🤣🤣🥰
That is really a good idea , good thinking , THANK YOU JINNE
Hi Jinne 👋🏻
We have a bug out box with 24 hours worth of open and eat foods for our crew of 4. We also have a no meat 72 hr bucket. It wasn't cheap for those chicken flavored goodies. 😒 Plus 2 buckets of fruits. I did grab all those freeze-dried buckets on sale and I am happy that we have them. Adding a bucket like this would give us 5 days of food to grab on the fly.
Instant rice! I have all kinds of dehydrated and instant potatoes, but I just may pick up some instant rice.
Throw some dog food, a can of pumpkin and some freeze dried liver in the bucket for your dogs…
Great suggestions! The pumpkin will work well if your pet has been upset by the emergency (like a hurricane). It settles their digestive system.
The spicy beef crumbles ARE spicy. It's more punched up than regular no bean chilli is and would work great for anything you would have for something spicy.
Need to get another bucket - great ideas. Tx😊
you might want to have a water filter for drinking water and rehydrating dry food
all foods that come in boxes or packages I put into vacuum seal bags and vacuum sealed for longer storage, most of my canned goods have been dehydrated and vacuum sealed into canning jars, which saves so much space, just about everything I prepped is vacuum sealed in bags or glass canning jars, took me awhile but its done.
I LOVE this!!!❤ I already have a "kit," but I think I'll go back through it on the next rainy day and make sure it’s right. Thank you, Jinne!!
Good ideas, I like that it wasn't all freeze dried.
Nice choices! Do you need a can opener, paper plates or bowls and something to cook in?
Believe its a food kit not a camp kitchen bucket
Great video!! Except you forgot the coffee!! 😂😂. 👩🍳
I love the bucket idea. Better than a backpack for the food stuff.
That's a great 72 hour bucket Jinne, a good mixture, & like you said, put in what your Family likes.
TFS HC, take care & keep really busy everyone. ❤🙂🐶
Great video! This is one of the most important things I’ve pretty much overlooked. I think I’ll make two buckets and stack in our entryway closet because I can’t fit pet supplies in with our food all in one.❤️🇺🇸
Great ideas, much better then purchased buckets. Protein, veg and fruit this way. The purchased one are mostly carbs, does have some calories.
It's just me in my household now, but you've got me thinking I need to do this, thanks. 😊 I think since it is just me, though, I am going to get big freezer bags and make individual day/meal bags. There are alot of comments too from others that were spot on also. 👍 Thanks for sharing!
Another great video !!! Much appreciated ❤
Thank you...
Great video!! An alternative to a bucket might be a large duffle bag. Might be easier to carry for some. I use buckets in the garden for different chores and I have learned to loath them. LOL I hope folks listen to you and do this instead of buying all those commercial emergency buckets. And Look Out, girl! You got some hot...HOT weather coming. FYI Ryan Hall mentioned Maine today.
I did a recent canoe camp trip and people always ask how to deal without refrigeration. Many of the items you have here are same I use for camping. Foil pack tuna and salmon and chicken are great since they are light and no can to deal with out in the field. Great job
Putting the whole thing together though. The rice is a great one I use minute rice which is just boil and soak 5 min.
Thanks for the tips. Stay safe.
Another meat option…$ General in my area has Hereford “meatballs” in a similar package with a shelf life of a couple of years…..I bought 4….but haven’t tried them yet. Thanks!
I am getting ready to make some meals with a friend that has a freeze dryer and then mylar bag them for a seven day bucket breakfast lunch and dinner. It will last 20 years, stored well. I have no place for a freeze dryer.
Don't forget the water. You need it least 8 to 10 gallon of water just to make up thoes meals. Drink mixes are necessary too.
Excellent video thanks for sharing 👍😎
Dollar General has some Campbell's soup that is a dollar a can. I always check with them first, and then Dollar Tree next on canned soups.
Great bucket prep. We tried the packet of spice beef crumbles mixed in a can of refried beans on instant rice it was a good meal in a pinch.
How are the meals cooked? Pans? Sterno, propane plate, oan, matches. We need to have a cooking bucket organized i guess. We have our RV but during last fire evac it took 45 minutes to turn off our little road no one would let us out.
Great ideas!
Great idea!
Thanks for the inspiration. 😊
Jenn, did you include food for your animals?
I think for me, a go-bucket for 3 days of emergency food would center on protein, fat and water. We're not trying to make balanced meals in such a situation, we're trying to just make it through the next 3 days. I love your video but I just wanted to weigh in on that.
Great idea...thanks for sharing Jinnie.
This is an excellent idea Jinne. I have some of these items already plus others. Thank you so much.❤
Thank you for focusing on this topic👍
Peanut butter and rice make a good meal. You can also have a box or package of instant potatoes in the bucket.
What a great idea. Thank you!
Thanks, Jinne!
Thanks again for the information 👍
Thanks, great ideas and I will be making a couple of these for friends.
Good kit , thanks for sharing YAH bless !
Enjoy your videos
Great idea and a you did a great job.
Good idea
Great idea!😊
I love this idea and am thinking about getting a couple put together. Are you concerned about having glass in the buckets? Could you wrap a few napkins around/bottom/sides of the jars to help cushion them? I would rather put my own canned items in because I know there are no bio-engineered foods in them. We've in the past made "I-told-you-so" buckets to give to family members who don't prepare for themselves, but they didn't have this level of items in them. Thanks
🤣🤣🤣I told you so buckets!!! Love this!!!!!!
Thanks Jinne
Thanks ❤😊
What No Coffee???
I am 1 person, probably looking out for more than than that. It looks like a condensed KIT.
Whos the grizzly bear in the back ground??...lol
Yea he looks like a guard dog for sure!!😅

Beware especially of $ stores. TONS of their stuff
is nasty Bio-engineered.
The advertisements show nearly all carbs in them. Not good for diabetes
That's why I love making my own, you can switch things up to what you and your family like and foods you can eat. The meal kits you buy are just as is.
Those emergency buckets of food are down right junk. I hope people try those instead of sticking it in the closet and forgetting about it. And if that's all they have, I hope they have some laxatives too and PLENTY of water. Do what Jenni suggests. Make it yourself.
Please forgive me. I know once I saw how you spelled your name. But, I forgot. I was reading comments and realized that others were spelling it different than I did in my first comment. I saw about four different spellings. LOL HOW do you spell your name dear???
Thank you...
Great ideas!
