When putting the screw in the vise I'd recommend having a scrap piece of hard leather or even just a rag to wrap the threads in. Very easy to squish them.

Vise jaws and bolt hard, use of gas🔥 gun quenching was soft. I have same vise in INDIA
Feels like a rough and ready restoration.No grinding after the rust removal, leaving the filling and priming part before the painting is a huge miss.It's not a huge effort to make those phases, but it could make a big difference in the looks and durability.

just the fact that he is working with the most basic of tools and producing a decent finished product gets my respect. not priming before paint or not doing the electrolysis rust removal comes off as trivial imho.

What is the make of the vise? I believe that I have it’s big brother that weighs about 200 lbs.
Nice cleanup but I would not have painted the slide, anvil or behind the jaw plates.

Though, I would've used Electrolysis to get rid of all that rust, it's easier and cleaner. Recently done a Vice restoration myself. Can't wait to use it for the next project.

Why do people keep heating stuck bolts with a blowtorch? Aren't you supposed to heat the surrounding metal and not the bolt itself to unstuck it?

Should be fined for mistreating tools. No need to heat the screws, the threads were fine. Just thin oil overnight and a good screwdriver. Moreover, he should have honed the rails instead of painting them.
А сразу нельзя было болгаркой шлефонуть, стоял пол видео вручную надрачивал)

Hmmm. No sand blasting, no filing of casting seams, no rust or grease removal, no priming, no grease on sliding surfaces, handle is a mess, mis-matched fasteners, no polishing.
ALL in all a less than average attempt at the restoration of a cool vise.
