In this video I do a restoration of a rusted and stuck vise that I got for free. - Please let me know what you think! 😁 Also, don’t forget to check out this old vintage pipe vise I restored! ⭐️ ruclips.net/video/P1WmOUrOGIk/видео.html Have an awesome day! R&R
Ok so two things. First I give mad props to anyone that hand sands for hours. You’re a better man than I am. Second the “fancy lathe work” was pure genius. I would have never thought of that.
If I may, when you're using heat on stubborn fasteners, try to apply the heat to the surrounding material (vise jaws in this application) so the material surrounding the threads expands, not so much the actual bolt. Over time, either works because expansion breaks bonds but I've found its often a bit faster heating the material around the fastener instead of the fastener
Great job! I liked all you did. I noticed at the end you had John 3:16 on the blue tape. Coincidence, whenever I refurbish a vise I write my initials, the date, and John 3:16 on the base. I gift them to family and friends. Thank you. Carl
Just came across your channel, as I watch other like channels. I appreciate your attention to detail and extra effort you put into the work. I don't see the usefulness of the anvil areas in the rough cast form before you started, or the pipe fitting jaws for that matter. Good call on finishing them out! I subscribed and will watch more of your work.
Nicely done…new subscriber here! appreciate your attention to detail…and your reference to John 3:16. Keep up the good work…and I like the safety addition….always work safe, glasses gloves etc…
Реально хороший восстановительный ремонт. От ржавчины очищено и окрашено, рабочие поверхности восстановлены, на некоторые наведения дома. Хорошая работа.
My old vice had threaded balls on each end of the 5/8 handle, a first for me, threaded then rounded off I reckon. The best part of your build & restoration ? “Made in USA” 🙂
Yes. "Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna". (Jn. 3, 16) ¡Happy Easter!
I see lots of channels doing the painting of the lettering on these kind of cast iron tools, I think it would look cool to instead use black to have a kind of shadow, like if you paint the entirety of the letter with black, then the very front part(which is the part you painted black in this one) with white, so it's like a shadow with white lettering on the front, it won't look original obviously but cool looking in my minds eye
I subscribed, just for John 3:16. For it as well. "Mert úgy szerette Isten a világot, hogy egyszülött Fiát adta oda, hogy aki hisz benne, az el ne vesszen, hanem örökké éljen." (Jn 3,16)

Nice. I like that you didn't use a lathe or other tools that are out of reach for most people, looking forward to more videos. Subscribed.
Thanks for the feed back. A lathe would be fun but yes they are out of reach! $. :)
Very nice restoration of a handy little vise. I don't usually use the slide of a vise as an anvil. Otherwise nice job.
Thanks for the comment! I understand. I would like to some day get an anvil but right now I’m just limited.
@@RebuiltRestored I understand and I really like the job you did on that vise.

I can hear your Grandmother yelling,"you did what with my fabric scissors?"
Lol Sorry Grandma!
Do you think a "rock tumbler" would do well enough to remove rust? I don't see myself building a sand blaster.
Hey Bob. I have never used a rock tumbler. You can find a cheap blasting cabinet online.
