You are the only one that explained in detail how to quilt as you go. Thank you so much!!! I look forward to seeing more videos. I am new to quilting so I will definitely be a subscriber😍
REALLY ENJOYED YOUR WAY OF FINISHING OFF QUILT AS YOU GO QUILT...I HAD NO IDEA HOW TO DO IT NOW I AM GOING TO GIVE IT A TRY. I WILL WATCH YOUR TUTORIAL ON HOW TO BIND THE QUILT. THANK YOU MARGIE .....FROM AUSTRALIA
Hi Anisa. I'm a little behind but I really enjoyed watching your steps for this quilt. Pretty clear and you make it look easy. Thanks so much! Warm hug for your loss. :)
Great tutorial. I do my joining in reverse….I.e. 1” I back, 2” folded in the back. I sew squares, or quilt rows, back to back. I then fold the 2” on front. It gives me a narrow trim. No hand sewing. Lol. Thanks for taking time to demonstrate
Hello, I am a Totally New Beginner to Quilting 😁 & actually only made some scrap string blocks 😁 & just made My Very First Project using 6 HST blocks table runner 💕 by MSQC called the flickering starlight reversible table runner 😁 & recently looked in my local small fabric shop & online for me in the UK. & Batting here is Polyester 😦 I cannot seem to find cotton batting or cotton 80% polyester 20%. Which for most US tutorials that is used. But thank you got some great tips from you today 💜 Erica x
Erica- I am so excited for your new quilting journey. Yes, most of us in the US use cotton batting. However, polyester batting works as well. Don’t let that discourage you from quilting. 😊
Great videos! I put the 1” strip on the BACK and folded 2” strip on the FRONT. It turns out the same as what you’re doing, so it doesn’t seem to matter. I have a problem when adding TWO borders, first narrow one (2-3 inches), then 6”. I pre-quilt the 6” but add batting to the narrow one as I add it. Is there a better way? I need the extra 4-6 inches (each side) to make quilt large enough for a queen sized bed!
My narrow border is wider than my sashing. As stated, I need the extra width/length. I also use the wider, folded sash/border on the FRONT, not the back...looks good. Only gives a narrow sashing, but when wider, it needs batting
wouldn't it be easier to manage if you made the borders you want, attached them together, mostly bound them, and then attached to the quilt all at once? instead of struggling with the whole quilt over and over?
Incidentally, I LOVEthe border!
That is a beautiful quilt
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much. This helped me to attach all the pieces to my first quilt as you go quilt with borders. 🧡
This has been so helpful. Now to try it with mitred corners
Thank you! I like your methods. 😀
Love your quilt AND theborder

Question. When attaching blocks with sashing, why is the top a different size than the bottom?
Do the 1” n 2” strips for QAYG method need to be bias or will straight of grain strips work fine?
What do you clean your iron with when u get glue on it?
What kind of baby lock machine do you have?

I use 505 in place of glue?
Is your batting cut narrower than sashing and borders?
Hi Audrey- Yes. But not by much. Just about 1/4". 😊
One inch....wrong side down? Thank you
Intro says border (and sashing?)
Hi how are you guys doing?
Hi Linda- We’re doing okay. How are you?
@@TheCraftyAuthor I'm doing good too.
wouldn't it be easier to manage if you made the borders you want, attached them together, mostly bound them, and then attached to the quilt all at once? instead of struggling with the whole quilt over and over?
You could definitely do it that way. Finding what works best for you is the key. 😊
Where did you get your background fabric for this quilt?
Nancy- I purchased my background fabric from Hobby Lobby.
@@TheCraftyAuthor thanks, I'll look the next time I get to one.
Apparently, spray 505, etc., should. E sprayed on batting, NOT your fabric
