Tremors directed by Ron Underwood (City Slickers) starring Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Finn Carter, Michael Gross, Reba McEntire, written by S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock.
This was a lovely surprise! We love this film, the tone, the humour and the playfulness. Kevin Bacon is excellent and so is the late Fred Ward as a great pair of lead characters. Pure popcorn fun and exactly the film we needed to see. This is how to make a B-Move classic!

Worms breath through their skin.. that's why when it rains they come up.. the wet soil makes it very hard for them to breath

This movie is THE master class of a comedy horror monster movie genre.
Wow tremors one of my favourite movies from when I was a teenager
“Broke into the wrong god dang recroom didn’t you you bastard”
One of my favorite duos in any film, Fred Ward and Kevin Bacon were so great together.
This was always a staple in my house growing up, we constantly rented this at the video store
One of my all time favs is Kevin Bacon in Apollo 13. (Based on true events-wonderful suspenseful movie) also stars, Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton (Twister), Gary Sinise, Ed Harris…just a great watch! Be interesting for J for sure. 😊
Yes we have this on the list
A bonafide studio!!! Yay!! Congratulations on the new home! May you fill it with wonderful memories!! Cheers!!
Yes! Thank you!
Thank you for watching Tremors! :) Yes for City Slickers. Great reaction, and congratulations on your new home!!
Thank you!
That machine she put brass in is a polisher for reloading ammunition
CITY SLICKERS!!
Yes!! Great one!!’
Cute and funny!!
Billy Crystal is so good, funny!!!
45:17 "CAT" is short for 'CATERPILLAR" which is a company that manufactures bulldozers and other heavy construction vehicles here in the USA
And Canada 😊
so glad you got to watch this
Mostly silly but also a horror movie with "underground monsters" 😂 Reba as a gun carrying prepper was the best!
You've got to do both City Slickers and City Slickers 2.
YES! BOTH! I saw the first one when I was 10 and my dad and I loved it so much, we kept saying the lines for years. Wonderfully funny characters.
90s nostalgia 😭
Yes to city slickers saw it as a kid about jays age I think he will love it
Congratulations on the move❤ Love this classic, RIP Fred Ward...
That’s Reba (McIntyre) ! Holy cow!
McEntire, and it's her acting debut.
@ Thanks for the spell-check! 👍🏼😉 I didn’t know it was her acting debut. 😊
@@cog4life NP, it's a common error. Yeah she really shows her chops in it, gave a good performance.
@ indeed!
Congratulations guys, you finally made the move to Bixby 😂
The vibrating machine in the basement reminds me of a tumbling machine full of abrasive for polishing things. I've always assumed that the machine uses that sand to polish their shell casings before they reload the casings.
It's is a vibratory tumbler for cleaning and polishing shell casings. It uses coarsely ground corncob or walnut shells, as sand would damage the brass casings.
This, 'Arachnophobia' and 'Gremlins' are perfect horror-comedy/family-bonding films. Exactly the right mix of scares, humour and general fun.
The “wife” country music singer Reba Macintyre !
McEntire
First time i saw this was in a drive-in theatre in 1990 and still a great film. Seen them all. to Fred Ward RIP 2022.
So glad you guys finally got around to Tremors, it's one of my all-time favorites! I recommended it many months ago after I first saw one of your videos (Arachnophobia I think), and you were gracious enough to reply; I can't wait to watch!!
Here it is!
Remember watching this back in the day and me and my bro sat on the sofa never seen anything like it before.
Long before the end we both ended up sat in the middle of the room coz it was safest and no spiders could get us 😂😂😂
I saw this when I was around 9 with my mom and dad when it played on TV and we all loved it. Like you said.. the movie is just "FUN". One of the most famous and respected American country singers, Reba McEntire, is in this film ("You didn't get any penetration even with the elephant gun"). Also the actress who played Mindy, Adrianna Richards, played Lex in Jurassic Park. She is now an award winning painter.
Thank you. We don’t know of Reba over here as a singer at all! So that adds a new understand to know this, thank yiu
The lil man has me convinced!
I now want a modern Tremors board game! 🙂👍
haha, he's getting well into board games recently !
38:24 The thing they were using in the basement is a tumbler (or something like that). You'd fill it with really tiny rocks, sand, or something else as a medium, and then put the things that you would like to polish (used shells, car parts, broken glass). The idea is it is shaking like crazy, making everything rub on everything. It works really well on the places that are hard to reach. As for the broken glass, the pieces end up just like those ones taken from the river's bed.
24:55 The funnest, "Fuck you!" in film history. 🤣
"Cat", short for 'Caterpillar', a manufacturer of heavy machinery like Bulldozers, Backhoes, etc.
Hi guys. Alfred Hitchcock's 1963 film "The Birds" is a horror-thriller that might fulfill the lad's interest in nature-fights-back style movies. It would allow him to see one of cinema history's most popular directors should you ever plan to watch something like "Psycho", which was groundbreaking at the time and is well worth a watch. "Rear Window" is also a great Hitchcock film. These are golden oldies that I wouldn't normally find myself recommending, but since you are open-minded and welcome suggestions regardless of their age, I'm glad that I can. Best regards to you both!
Actually considering J's comments in this reaction, you're right The Birds could be a good one. Thank you!
This is one of my sons favorite movies. Love this movie... it's fun.
Omg yes so excited! Perfect for you guys!
49:35 😂😂catch a dadgum big fish with one of those J!😂
Like Crocodile Dundee.
That's cool to see the eventual morphing of your reaction space.
Recommend Dance's with Wolves. Not a fun movie, but a good one.
Oh yes! Thank you!
Yup! And I would also recommend Thunderheart and Wind River
25:49 great “Jaws” reference! 😂
Agreed. 🤣
The opening and the climax of the movie mirror each other. A 'stampede' and a worm-like figure falling, first Earl in the sleeping bag off the truck then Stumpy off the cliff.
Stampede I got, but oh wow you’re right with the sleeping bag falling from the truck. Didn’t see this. Thank you !
The couple with the guns, the wife is singer Reba McEntire
First comment I've seen with her name spelled correctly.
You all should watch The Beastmaster
Good call. The violence stays in the TV edit, but the Blue Pencils remove Tanya Roberts' parts. (Also, the tiger died as a result of being poisoned by the black dye).Multiple PG warnings.
100% Such a fun flick.
That was really fun watching you react to this just like my dad and me. Good times.
I know that feeling. Living with boxes all over the place. Good luck.
Glad you both enjoyed it! It's a favorite in our household. I believe Tremors 4 is the prequel--Probably my favorite after this one. 🙂
Tremors, by far, is the best Jaws sequel.
Awww, this is a classic, I'm really fond of this, used to watch it EVERY time it was on TV, it's lovely to this on your channel.
I can't say the same for the sequel, prequel etc, as they're truly bad films, but this first one is awsome.
The 2nd one is pretty good, just more fun and less horror. The 3rd completes the life cycle of the Graboids. The rest (#4 onward) are pretty bad to really bad.
Good to know, thanks
The Jurassic Park Girl Pogo Sticks across the screen and... Silence. I thought you would be all over that one guys. Maybe you will spot her later? Excellent choice of film. A Perfect film to watch going in blind. You are in for a treat. Honestly, I had no idea who was Kevin Bacon at the time. I knew Fred Ward from The Right Stuff.
What about braveheart
@@michaelmorrison6635in the new year
Why do you want to wait till the new year just asking
@@michaelmorrison6635 only because we have drawn up the list already to take us to New Years Eve. I know this sounds a bit too organised but it’s easier for us to list the films up in batches sometimes, so that it satisfies the two of us. We will announce the list next week (combination of holiday films, comedies and classics) and we have a dedicated slot for voting on a poll as well. So maybe you could vote for it and it gets the must likes… 🎉
You didn't know Kevin Bacon from Footloose?
Congratulations on the move. Hope it's the first step into a brilliant bright future for everyone
At 20:12 the sign means "Three dollars" not "Three hundred." That was an old way of writing an even price (xx dollars zero cents) without using a decimal point.
ah.... thank you... this was clearly a Brit not understanding this! thank you
@@GenerationMediaReaction I figured that, you're not the first reactor I've seen make that mistake! 😉
It's like writing "Three and 0/100 dollars" on a check (or a cheque, for you Brits) for people who remember using paper money.
What's so funny about an elephant gun?
The creators of this movie got together to decide an explanation for the Graboids, and they decided there were basically four origins for monsters in old sci-fi movies: a) Mutations due to nuclear testing, b) things from outer space, c) something prehistoric awakening in the present, and d) something created by scientists/ the military. They let it go at that. However, they decided on an origin in TREMORS 2, should you watch that.
Aside from TREMORS 2, I'd recommend one of those 1950s movies that influenced TREMORS, like THEM!, THE BLOB, MONSTER THAT CHALLENGED THE WORLD, THE BLACK SCORPION, and the like. Heck, I even liked THE KILLER SHREWS.
"Just a few household chemicals in the proper proportion"
city slickers is a great easy breazy comedy.
You’re on a roll tonight 😂😂
City Slickers 1 and 2 are worth watching.
Definitely see Cityslickers
This one always felt like a spoof of the horror genre. It wasn’t a huge hit but got a cult following after it was released on video.
I watched this in spite of having the world''s worst worm-phobia. Then I saw the woman with the nose cream and I was ready for anything.
worm-phobia is a thing?
Have fun with the new digs! Can't wait to see the redo.
Thank you, we will enjoy doing it up
I like your vibe... First video I've seen of you...
Keep it going!
Hey thanks for watching, hope you enjoy more 👍😎
No way! It didn't occur to me that you'd watch this movie! I'm excited to watch
Glad it surprised you!
"Wormist". I think you've invented a new concept.
love it, love it, love it!
This movie is awesome
This is one of the best creature features in its class. A true modern classic that never gets old. I can at least recommend Tremors 2 - 4. Some of the sequels get a little goofy, but the second is really fun, and they're all worth watching for various reasons. Haven't seen the rest, so I can't vouch for them, but there you go.
CAT is short for Caterpillar, a brand of heavy machinery like bulldozers and excavators.
Congrats on the move!! You guys inspire me to start a channel with my 8 year old son.. I just have to get the equipment to record. I don't know exactly what I need.. if you have any suggestions of what you use.. I'm all ears . Great reaction... And thank you
You can do it! Equipment wise, I use a canon camera that can record for a long time (many DSLR types don’t record for long duration)
@GenerationMediaReaction thank you!!
Awesome reaction, I hope you guys watch the whole series, there's 7 total and they're all pretty good and as for Burt, he is in all of them, he becomes the central character.
Great Reaction 👍 You should try Tremors 2 Aftershocks. Pretty good movie also.
27:27 "The Core". You could watch that.
Next fun creature feature - Lake Placid (1999)
Shell Case Cleaner. To polish and clean shell casings, in order to recycle/process them and make one's own ammunition to one's own specifications. This is a common question from Brits, because we are not firearms obsessed.
Is a firearm a bit like a gun ? 😀
No , your government took away your guns. The reason the Japanese never attempted to land troops on America during ww2 was that they thought behind every tree and bush was armed people
@@GenerationMediaReaction Pretty sure that's a joke but, just in case, firearms refer to any gun that can be handled directly by one person and uses an explosion to launch the projectile while guns also include non explosive projectile launchers, like air guns, and larger weapon systems, like artillery and a tank's main weapon.
@@platinumspider7859it was a joke but what you wrote is interesting and makes sense , thank you
The first time i Saw the movie i ran home on the asphalt from my best friends birthday
Sweet Jesus, give "The Count of Monte Christo" (2002) a viewing! Your son will LOVE IT!
We have this on the list 👍
2:46 "So, I'm just going to give myself to this film and let it take me."
Well, I never would have guessed the little fact that Dee is a submissive...
Movie reaction suggestion - Big Trouble in Little China!
Yes!! You need to do City Slickers!
Second Hand Lions is an absolute must you both would really like. Has Haley Joel Osmond from the 6th Sense, Michael Caine and Robert Duvall, two of my favorite actors
Classic film. Recommend part 2
I believe the word you were looking for near the intro was phobia. I'm pretty sure you don't have a spider fetish, haha.
Doh! Oh yeah!
@GenerationMediaReaction I'm just a bit "medicated" while watching and for some reason that just tickled my funny bone, haha. Great reaction, I appreciate you!
@ haha, this a great film for that kind of mental relaxation 😎😎
I would say to look up creature features which mostly were older films from the 50s to the 80s but there are modern ones as well. Then you could watch a favorite of mine: Matinee 1994, about teens who, during the 60s Cuban Missle Crisis, want to watch the next big creature feature, Mant, at the theater while craziness ensues. Keep up the great movie reactions and your move to the new house.
Matinee, thank you!
That is a great little movie.
Great reaction you two.
- City Slickers is FANTASTIC. And the sequel.
ATTACK the BLOCK 2011 - Which takes place in south London I think. A group of hooligans have to fight strange monsters that crash land on Earth from outer space.
The BLOB 1988 - Monster from outerspace. This film has the very best death scenes. Super rad
Thank you, yes Attack The Block for local interest, definitely. Although we might wonder down an Edgar Wright path before that one 😉. The Blob though ! I’ll add to the list!
I love these movies, you should watch the second and third as well. I also suggest Lake Placid and The Ghost And The Darkness.
Movie suggestion: 8 Legged Freaks
As you can tell, another spider movie. However, this one is a lot more campy and has more comedic moments. But it checks both the creatures vs humans and the giant monster boxes. Might be a bit of an uncomfortable watch for you since you hate spiders but honestly, if you got through Arachnophobia then this would be easy. If Arachnophobia would be like the feeling you get after walking through a spiderweb then 8 Legged Freaks is like seeing a spider crawl on the wall 15 feet away from you. If that makes any sense whatsoever.
Great reaction. I think Big trouble is little China is something J might like. Comedy, action ,martial arts fantasy. Fred Ward was great in a film called Remo Williams the adventure begins. Siverado is good Western.
I think we might nudge Big Trouble up on the list 👍😎
You guys should check out The Monster Squad, another great B-Movie Horror-Comedy classic. And yes, watch City Slickers and The Rocketeer if you haven't seen it.
Kevin Bacon was 32, Fred Ward was 48
51:01 there ya go, J! Sell it!! 👍🏼✅
You should do a house tour for the channel and we would watch the progress of the renovation. Would be a great addition to channel content.
Victor wong from
Big trouble in little china
Like the Goonies and Indiana jones mix.
🇬🇧🤗🌟🙌🏻🍀🏡
Perfect intro to John Carpenter! Neither of us have seen this so it will be first time for both of us
RIP Fred Ward
Another great reaction. Congrats on the move. I’m sure you’re exhausted. Take your time settling in.
May I suggest Big with Tom hanks if you haven’t seen it yet.
Thank you, it’s a great suggestion. It’s added to the list, but might be next year now
I want to suggest two movies. One is "Hacksaw Ridge" (2016) a true story about surviving a war. The other is "The Impossible" (2012) a true story about surviving nature.
Thank you. Added to the list. The list is long, so maybe in the new year, i might put some of them up for poll/vote to see which ones should be viewed before the others.
At 24:17 you mentioned "stop motion or something", as you have seen - there is no stop motion camera work, despite the limited budget for the film.
Maybe miniatures/puppets with over cranked frame rate then ?
@@GenerationMediaReaction Nope, if you watch the documentary, they state that it is all life sized monsters.
Even though the movie didn't rate well at the box office initially, on VHS - grew into a loved cult classic, hence why 6 sequels and one of them being a prequel.
@@johnking2740 i found this behind the scenes video which is interesting ... ruclips.net/video/CWc8iEmohfM/видео.html
Yes there were some motion-controlled minature puppet versions used in a few shots (one in the Rec Room in particular). @@GenerationMediaReaction
Great movie choice.!! I think you would love the movie nothing but trouble with Chevy Chase and Dan Ackroyd.. It has a little bit of weird a little bit of funny and all around just a great movie it also has John Candy so it has a fantastic cast again. The movie is nothing but trouble.
What a coincidence! Hadn't thought of that film in years, but this week I heard a song on the radio that reminded me of it. Couldn't remember anything but Demi Moore and Lil' Debbil so that's what I Googled to get the name!
Caterpillar is a company in America that makes a lot of machinery for construction/earth moving. Caterpillar aka Cat
Animal films - Lake Placid, Turner & Hooch, Free Willy, Crawl, Deep Blue Sea, Honey I Shrunk The Kids, Eight Legged Freaks 😂 Mighty Joe Young
I think Harrison Ford the Fugitive would be a good reaction video.
Oooooo! Yes!
The movie that comes to mind about people vs animals is The Grey.
Starring Liam Neeson and some men trying to escape a pack of wolves.
It is dark and heavy with some gore and moderately frightening.
Because it’s mostly natural style violence and somewhat instructional I might consider letting my young son watch it before Deadpool (being violent PvP plus heavy crass sexual and drug innuendos)😂
Hadn't seen this one either, really enjoyed watching it with you (didn't feel like i missed out with the edit, I think you captured it well).
Would really like to see you react to The Mosquito Coast, Harrison Ford's best film imo and also the excellent River Phoenix. I've not been able to find anyone reacting to it on RUclips, which is criminal.
Edit: Second choice would be Deadpool 😉
Glad you enjoyed it! We will include Deadpool on a poll/vote next week for everyone to vote for a film we react to
‘Sup guys! Oooohh!!!! Yuk! 😜Did that last year/this year. Actually, my mom passed and been trying to get all her stuff disposed of, etc. I know you’re tired. It really is exhausting. I think I can get through this with you guys….😳… 3:09 um yeah….big worms😉😮😂😅
I cannot say this loudly enough. The movie that you two absolutely MUST watch is the original "Jumanji" (1995). It's filled with EXACTLY what that Jay likes. People perpetually being attacked by lions, crocodiles, bats, giant mosquitos, stampeding elephants & rhinoceroses, oversized spiders, raging monkeys and more. Plus, at it's core, it's about a father/son relationship. I think it'll wind up being the favorite movie of both of you. 🦁🐊🦇🦟🐘🦏🕷🐒
A great romp of horrocom movie. Kevin & Fred seemed to have an actual friendship and worked well for the movie. Also, even if your accent, to a Yank, didn't give you away, calling a camper trailer a caravan gives it away.
haha, the little differences in language is fun. Do you have something called a caravan or is it camper trailer all the way.
😂😂😂 17:47
8:23 😅
If you want to see Kevin in a really different role - check out The River Wild. Amazing action /adventure movie. Cheers from Canada! :) Have fun in your new house.
Thank you!
@@GenerationMediaReaction You're most welcome :)
Guys the poo truck thing...so funny to hear you talk about that ..cuz I drove and operated those poo trucks for about 4 years... Might be hard to hear this but it was one of the best jobs I ever had..lol
Oh wow, hope you remembered to press ‘suck’ not ‘blow’ !
@GenerationMediaReaction yes you don't ever want to push the wrong button LOL
