I think this might be my favourite version of Strutter - Paul's voice right here is absolutely phenomenal! Just on another level, and Bruce is ripping it on lead 🤘🏻⚡️🔥
You all say that this is the best performance, that Paul is at his best here, but it was because Paul was getting the top notes so wrong that he essentially lost his voice by the mid-'00s
Fantastic version of the song. I was there that year...Kiss were indeed awesome. Sadly that show will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. Kiss and GnR definitely put out the most powerful performances on the day - Maiden never really stood a chance following those two.
Straight insanity with these vocals I always knew he was a good singer, but man he really shows how great of a singer he really was. I wish he always sang this song like this. It makes me really like stutter even more.
WOW WOW WOW! Paul Stanley was unreal great -this line-up was the best of all of them... PERIOD! I know someone is going to come along and remind me that when they were 12 in 1977 that Ace and Peter were amazing and that this is not KISS because they are not there. I understand the magic of the four make-up characters of KISS - but - DAMN! This is So Good - so - listen again and be honest with yourself - this is the best version of STRUTTER.
all you knobheads saying it's not live.. or from donington yes it is the audio is from the radio 1 Friday rock show and has been put on the video to mach up..
How often in Rock music does a vocalist increase their range like Paul has obviosuly done here? It seems like he is singing an octave higher than usual. And that is saying something!
Are you high? Iron Maiden put out a multi platinum live album and Concert video of their performance from that show. And you just saw the Kiss song for the first time!
Was at this show. Kiss were, in fact, great. However, it was Maiden’s first headline slot at Donnington and they owned the crowd and were in no danger.
you're clueless yet posted this crap.. no official maiden video from donington 88 the official 88 videos was r double-DVD edition of Maiden England '88 was filmed across two sold-out nights at Birmingham N.E.C Arena, UK in November 1988
Damn ! Paul sounds amazing in this video, what an awesome voice he had in his prime. Let’s also not forget Eric beating the crap out of those skins too…..RIP to the Fox !
The audio is taken from the BBC Monsters of Rock show. I suspect it's been dubbed. I used to see live bands back then including Kiss and they never sounded like this. I'm not criticising, it's what bands do and they still produced the music but I suspect this recording has been enhanced and overdubbed etc. Paul's voice sounds great though.
He sung like this on that whole your, I have this set on tape from the original radio broadcast and I was there that day, this is how it sounded and how the show was in that era. There are a few recordings of Strutter from that tour like this, I guess they just switched it up a bit when they re-added the old songs to the set.
Just watched it again and I guess that is him...I've seen countless hours of this dude singing and this is the first time I'm hearing him do those super high notes. Hard to belive. @@squicker
@@curtissteen2953Yes, it's a really different approach, and I think the songs on this tour were all played at concert pitch as well, so must have been pretty tough on Pauls voice.
Wow, that’s Paul as he should be remembered! 😮
Absolutely 💯
HEAR HEAR!
Paul absolutely ON FIRE, spectacular performance!
I think this might be my favourite version of Strutter - Paul's voice right here is absolutely phenomenal! Just on another level, and Bruce is ripping it on lead 🤘🏻⚡️🔥

This is such a great vocal performance from Paul, love it!
Vocally, Paul was running on ALL cylinders in 88!
He was even better in 1990 on the Hot in The Shade Tour
Maybe should have paced himself!!!
@@jeffholt9437I don’t think he thought that they would be playing for 50 years, he sang and played every time like it was his last
WTF was this? This was in-fucking-sane! Paul rocks!
Monsters of Rock, Donnington
Different person playing the role
Best version EVER, literally need to listen to it at least once a day! PEAK Paul. He was so underrated as lead singer, while he was the real GOAT!!
I knew Paul's voice back then was insane but I have never heard this. Up there with Mark slaughter on high notes
Man….that voice…. At its peak. ❤️
Hell I was at this gig,I was 16 years old, they played so good that day
OMG 😮 this day I knew a lucky man
The hell I just listened?? Paul’S voice was amazing, this guy could do wonders with his voice
i was there. This is my biggest memory of the set that day. Superb!!
“Just like a chiiiiiiiiiillllllddddd!”
Holy shit that’s good stuff ❤🤩
This is the best version of this song ever recorded, probably the best version ever performed.
I was at this gig it was ace.
@@grahamtaylor8912 seriously? If so awesome
Lol facts! Those highs have their own highs.
I'd argue WInterland 75'
U right!!!!
Una prueba mas de lo increible que es Paul como cantante
Peek vocal power here. Outstanding. Glad I saw the 88 UK tour
Paul Stanley at his best!
Holysh*t Paul and the stage are on fire!!!!!
Kulick never tried to duplicate Ace's leads..just put his own spin on them.
Paul really hitting those high notes 🎶
This whole concert was probably the greatest performance Paul ever put on! He was at about 130% here!
Simply an awesome performance!!!!
WOW !
Paul was feeling that one.
My GOD,the best Paul capture live,EVER.....EVER...
Now THAT`S Paul Stanley...
I can’t believe I stumbled on this. Paul is ALEGENDARY for this concert!
Back WHEN Paul could sing ANY1 under the table! Amazing performance! \m/
Kiss went on after Helloween and Anthrax. Paul heard Kiske and Belladonna and said: "Hold my beer". That sheer power in the high register... wow!
wrong anthrax didn't play. megadeath did
@@ajjy1110 Not in The Netherlands (same MOR tour). We got Anthrax instead of Megadeth allright…..
I was at this gig. Only remember bits as it was so long ago, but i do remember that Kiss were fantastic that day. Best I'd seen them.
This is awesome . They could include this concert in Kissology's DVDs
This performance was absolute perfection
I remember this song more clearly than anything else I heard that day.
Paul Stanley ftw!! Never knew his vocals were this great
Back when Paul had a voice. 😢
Fantastic version of the song. I was there that year...Kiss were indeed awesome. Sadly that show will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. Kiss and GnR definitely put out the most powerful performances on the day - Maiden never really stood a chance following those two.
to each his own, Maiden '88 with the Ice Kingdom stage was unbeatable
Diamond Dave kicked ass too ,RIP the two lads that day
Wow, they sound amazing
In his Prime. Great performance of Strutter. Wow. Never heard that version b4.
Paul Stanley was freaking on fire here wow then High notes OMG ❤❤❤
God damn this is good! You know, after the past twenty years or so, you forget what an absolute powerhouse Paul was.
Woooow, I'm.. outta words, so amazed !!!! ❤❤❤♥♥
Wow, I was there. 15 years old.
Paul’s vocals from this era were insane.
Wow just discovered this one , top 5 version of strutter
Paul's voice was so powerfull back then
Straight insanity with these vocals I always knew he was a good singer, but man he really shows how great of a singer he really was. I wish he always sang this song like this. It makes me really like stutter even more.
He did an incredible performance in the unplugged album in Sure knows something in the 90´s
This is the Paul I've been lovin' for years !
The greatest frontman of 80s hard rock.
All time

Youve got to be Freaking kidding me....WOW WOW WOW ...KING ROCKSTAR ❤❤
Buen material se escuchaban poderosos
Wow... Paul Stanley. This is not from Planet Earth👏👏👏
1:29 the legacy of a unique voice
Well seasoned & still young during this period but passed on by aging fans. But seeing this live would create a new base. Great version!
As @rva would say, agility up and down the range. Best version of this great song.
The voice I loved
Best Strutter EVER!
All I have to say is....DAMN! Paul was killing it!
What a voice
Amazing 😮
Wowza Mr Stanley🔥🔥
Paul's voice is incredible but also gotta give gene absolute love for bad ass bass playing
Other than the cheesy, rehearsed banter between songs, Paul is a killer front man.
as the managing director of La Scala Opera and an internationally recognised vocal cords surgeon I approve of this version
all you knobheads saying it's not live.. or from donington yes it is the audio is from the radio 1 Friday rock show and has been put on the video to mach up..
Increíble voz, increíble rola! Kiss demostró ser un excelente grupo superando en vivo sus propias versiones de canciones.
Gracias al amigo q lo grabo ..porq ..Paul suena genial.❤
I was there that day and more or less stood where this is beind filmed
I WAS THERE!!!! And sam fox was stage right. Coz Paul was seeing her at the time.
Pauls fabulous on this
This is the Era that absolutely killed Paul's voice by forcing his voice to sing outside of its natural range. He can barely talk these days.
You are perfectly right.
the band is on fire !!!
1:43 helium
the vocals rule!!!!!! wow!!!! nice

CLASSIC❤❤❤❤❤
Bruce Dickinson didn't want to go out after this amazing beast smashed everything with his voice
Don't think even Pavarotti would fancy getting on stage following that performance.

🎤Paul❤
The sound is fantastic. Is the whole show out there somewhere?
I was front row at 16 got pulled over front at end of set!
Remember it well I lost my voice that day
i was there .
Best frontman…EVER!!!!
Was there! I always thought the steinberger headstock-less guitar looked a bit lame visually comped with an Iceman - my opinion hasn’t changed!
88 was the year be blew his voice out. By 92 it had changed significantly 😢
Kulick going insane.
PAUL FUCKING STANLEY!
Holy fuck...
Bruce was the last original lead guitarist for KISS. So talented. I wish he had written more songs and been a more active singer.
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Something’s going on here. I’ve never heard Paul sing like that. Not even a little.
He sung like this on that whole your, I have this set on tape from the original radio broadcast and I was there that day, this is how it sounded and how the show was in that era. No wonder he blew out his voice, this is not his natural range at all.
That's nobody's natural range.
Was there 19yrs old with my future ex wife😂
Too high I think he knew it becuase the other shows this tour he dropped down a bit
Except he didn't he sant it this way on all the shows
Monsters of Rock at Donington back then was a major highlight in a band carreer, so they go all guns blazing in these performances.
Are they wearing make up or not? I Can’t tell.
No they didn't wear makeup in the 80s and most of the 90s
I was at this gig. Front row. Not bad.
