What an outstanding performance of this F-4 Phantom. Plus a butter smooth landing. It doesn't get any better than this. Absolutely magnificent in every respect.
The ultimate achievement for any RC modeller. Fantastic aircraft and flying presentation. Best I've seen in my 50 years of RC flying. Congratulations are definitely in order.
Dye that white smoke black, and I'd believe it was real. Had F-4Es at Korat, D models at RAF Bentwaters / Woodbridge. All of them belched a black exhaust trail. Easy to pick up an inbound flight, just look north and watch for the black cloud. to appear. Beautiful aircraft, coupled with some great flying.
@@victorrcjets7660 What got me interested in watching it, the take off. For those unfamiliar with a full-size F-4, the thrust line of the engines actually points down. In full burner, the pilot has to overcome this and hauls the stick full up. The forces on the stab will overcome the down thrust and get it airborne. Once airborne, he can release, so the sharp takeoff, then leveling out, is very scale.
@@iamtuben2 I can remember having a strike force out, and when waiting for their return, all you had to do is look north, and watch for the black cloud of jet exhaust on the horizon. Then it was counting individual trails as they approached the base, and confirmation that they all made it back, or how many we lost. The North Vietnamese military didn't need radar, just good eyes and watch for the black cloud.
That was some treat. Beautifully executed flight. What a wonderful job you have done on this aircraft. I have looked up many times an have seen this wonderful silhouette passing overhead. Thank you for sharing and bringing back some stored memories.
I've been a lover of the F-4 since I saw my first one in 1968 and VF84 the Jolly Rogers is absolutely my favorite navy squadron marking of all time. The jet is beautiful the pilot obviously knows his stuff and that landing was a thing of beauty! Nicely done I'd like to see some up close pictures of this model well done.
I'm also a fan of the F-4, even before I saw one fly. I got to see it in action in that same year, sat in it, photographed it on the ground and generally admired its beauty.
Dammmm! If there was no mention that this is an RC or the size comparison on safety staff by this modeI, i would think this was a full size F4....even the rumble of those turbines...u feel it! Just incredible....so enjoyable to watch! Amazing flying & landing!
What a beautiful craft and display! I don't even know where to begin, torn equally between the master-level build and the piloting. Sad to hear of this build going down, hope it is salvageable. Best wishes to Mike Adams!
Great plane but really utterly fantastic piloting. If one was to tune into this video in the middle they could be forgiven for thinking they where watching a real F4 going through its paces.
I could never get so involved with this activity because I could never recover after s crash, looks fun no doubt but also don't have the cash flow.....are the aircraft insured by am insurance company? I've heard some RC can cost upwards of 10 grand?
There's no such thing as crash insurance, Airplanes can cost this cheapest a $100 for sure it can go up significantly for like a turbine. There are much cheaper turbines set up though like 6K. But sure they can go up even more than 10K like more like 30K!
Mike flew this Phantom so well, I have one myself, any idea what happened? Do you know what lights Mike installed across the top of his F-4, they're super bright and I wouldn't mind a set on mine? The Kings Canyon video you shot of it was awesome!
I do not know exactly what happened I didn't want a bug Mike. I agree it has great lights, Is not sure about what brand. Because yeah we enjoyed video tape video taping the the golden hour at the event 😀
@@victorrcjets7660 Hi Victor, that's fair enough and understandable. If you see him, let him know that his videos have been an inspiration, they've really kept me going with mine! Take care.

"Sadly Mike's beautiful Skymaster F-4 went down when we went to the hotel for a quick shower. This is the last video of it flying." Maybe he should have been controlling it instead of showering with you.
Loved how you greased that landing. Outstanding model and flight ✈️ 👍
Phantoms Phorever!
Thank you but it was my friend Mike Adams.

Absolutely the BEST RC Scale airmanship I have ever witnessed!!
Yes I want one someday

I said the same thing about the black smoke, that would put the cherry on top of the realism cake.

As I witnessed in their RAAF (Australian) service, just look for the bright landing light trailing black smoke!!
What a gorgeous model of one of my favourite aircraft, expertly flown and such a smooth landing!
For sure!

You're most welcome, We had a great time at the event. The airboss did a great job of grabbing as much video as possible!
Beautiful model, excellent flying as well. from an old aircraft maintainer, everything looks great.
Yeah quite a few RC pilots are also full scale pilots.
AWESOME!!! One of the best flying I've ever seen.👍👍

Sweet ship and great flying... Phantoms Forever!
Yes I always enjoyed flying mine! I love Mike's F4 though maybe someday I will build one as big!
Sure is great to see AND hear a real jet...well done.

😮It looks like the nose gear is in the extended position as is for a catapult launch. (Former F4J plane captain). Have a nice day.
Yeah the r c version has needed some adaptations to function properly
Great pilot and wonderful Phantom.

That was a BOSS flying display. Awesome plane...
Thanks joe Mike is a great pilot
Absolutely top of the hobby,I would get an ulcer just starting the engines..

I think that’s the best flying RC plane I’ve seen. The good ones make it look easy.

Beautiful bird! I often just fast forward to the end to watch the landing, and as redairt4 said, you really greased it!
Yes it's hard to not wanna watch the whole thing completely action packed!
Super model and nice to see ‘scale’ take off.
For sure John
Where's the smoke trail? Beautiful RCs, well flown.
It really depends on what you use for smoke oil.
@@victorrcjets7660 I was teasing, but I'm just used to old smokey J-79s leaving their mark on the sky.
Outstanding, love F4s
Yeah who wouldn't
Talk about a perfect landing!
for sure dude!
Beautiful model, and awesome aircraft.
Indeed! that's why we try to grab Mike's flights!
Beautiful! Looks a lot like the ones I used to repair.
Skymaster does take a long time to try to get it right.
That looked more like an Air Force landing than a Navy one.;-)
Beautiful F-4 so beautifully flown. So sad to hear it was lost.
Yes the 2 main days was going to be great if it didn't. We took the golden hour flying of it too because the NAV lights on it are fantastic 😎
Wow! That thumbnail pic looks like the real deal. Beautiful video of a classic jet fighter. 😄👍❤️

Agreed 👍
Nothing like the sound of baby J-79's !!!🤣
for sure dude!
I am in awe. Wow!
we always feel like that each time he flew it. He flew it so well at the Kings Canyon event too!
Beautiful. Only this missing is the black exhaust.
We're trying to use cleaner fuels. I use kerosene.
That ain't no parkflyer. That thing looks like a credible threat to half the nation's airforces. Good gravy!

WOW that was to say the least fantastic.
always when he flies!
F4 and F14 are my favorites.
I got Steve's tomcat on our Playlist too.
Beautiful jet and flight! That dusty environment makes me cringe, though, thinking about the dust getting sucked up into the turbines.
Yeah it is a great site despite the dustiness. Even the gear on both my turbine jets needed to be cleaned badly.
I am glad it was a "rip" and not the end of the plane, as "RIP" seemed to hint at. Great flight demo!
I wish that was not true but sadly it was lost the next day.

Masterpiece, sad that this was the last flight!
A truly beautiful get hard to not want to watch it, We tried to film it as much as we could.
F-4 is proof that with strong enough engines, even a brick can fly.
They were plenty fast enough under power, just couldn't turn well as a mig-21.
worked on them in the air force during vietnam conflict worked on the D,C the RF and the E model,,,,,great aircraft
I'm glad you appreciate seeing it in an RC version, we as modelers love to show how beautiful they where!
I failed to mention l been flying
Rc now going on 40 years in fact
Got rc f4 myself, keep up the good

I'm not an RC guy so this is probably a stupid question, but just what kind of MPH can these things hit?
Around 170mph
548 mph, glider, dynamic soaring

Try to fly everyday and try to utilize the simulator. I have been flying 29 years myself.
Auto focus & small fast moving objects DON'T mix unless you are using very high end equipment.
Yes only Simi high end, clouds and sun make it hard or something in the way like people walking past.
That landing was smooth.
Why did it crash?
He didn't really elaborate
What kind of engines are in that F-4 phantom
I would have to ask Mike.
Are they real turbine engines?
where can I go to see this demonstration?
Any rc field
Great aircraft …needs trailing smoke…lol
Rc smoke trails are not the same everyone use different smoke oil depending on what your using for fuel. I use Kerosene.
They may have been huge, and not very maneuverable, but damn they were sexy. Nice model. Only one problem, no smoke coming out the rear.
Yes the rc world its hard to duplicate that level of reality 😕
How fast does it fly?
Around 160mph level flight.
GREASY! 😋😎
