This was really fun! Just an opinion but I think the dual perspective works much better when you're playing for evil. A big draw of player perspectives for a lot of viewers is solving alongside whoever's perspective we're following, so having all the ST info would detract from that aspect. But at the same time, it would also be fun to see all those little conversations we miss along the way, which is why I think an evil player perspective + ST perspective strikes a really fun balance.
Really enjoyed it, good work on the video!

I'll keep that in mind; that's actually a really good point, and not something I'd considered. I might try out a good player perspective + ST perspective hybrid, just to see? But... that was an angle I wasn't considering

@@aetreides I definitely think it's something worth trying, and would still be fun! It just caters to a different crowd ♥

Oooh, this is interesting! I do like this as a perspective, especially with you having an evil role.
I do agree with Asteyni who said in another comment that maybe it's a bit less fun if you do it when you had a good role, because it takes away the mystery of who's actually evil, but it could still be fun. Like, might be worth the try to see. I'll tell you I'll be here and watch it either way. ^^
I've seen the TPI stream this was on (well, I saw like half an hour of the start of this game, was delighted by a surprise Etreides by pure chance before going to sleep, and then watched the vod the next morning) but I will absolutely enjoy the added perspective from you.
Kazaliiii, let's go. That's a fun one. I do enjoy the picking someone you've not been on the same team with. If the app won't make it so, you just do it yourself. Also the J-Team is funny.
*snrk* yes, cutting back to very important nighttime discussions during the first night. Very good. I did desperately need this content in my life. Thank you for sharing that xD
Evil Triplets, lol. Surely. But, what a great opportunity to connect with one of your minions immediately.
Also, I really am terrible at remembering what most people are. I remember a few key roles and otherwise when it switches back to your side I'll stare at a name and an empty role token and for the life of me can't remember what was supposed to go there half the time. It takes a few switches for me to actually remember. Amazing. Just, amazing.
Professional Flow Charts.... sure. Of course. ....I want to see them.
Love the poisoned Seamstress. Always a fun thing (though unfortunate for said Seamstress). Nice side effect of Jams getting possible confirmation for herself there.
Also between all the info you collected, the grim is looking pretty good now. It's kinda fun to see how your info overlaps or differs from the actual game-state.
"How does Cannibal Juggler work?" "Very badly." I love it when that is the answer to "How does X Interact?" Some of them just are like that though. Funny.
Also yes, these poisons are pretty good. Very nice hits there.
Yeesss, Plague Doctor Goblin. Very good. Always love a good Goblin.
Oh yes, more very important conversations are had. Cookies. Very important business. But, really, love the switch from you saying you want Kiwi George to see George A, and then switching to Aero just deciding on showing just that. Nice when things work out like that xD
Sadly, it wasn't actually believed, but still. Worst case they get no new names.
A Waffles or Pancakes. I'll take either, really. Give me any and you'll make me very happy. Also, yes. A. Very. Serious. Game. Indeed. Just because it's about death and murder, doesn't mean that you can't talk about delicious foods in between.
Sketchy Dreamer info. That's so nice to know, always. Hopefully Jen will 'confirm you' too then.^^
All the ties. Sure. Luckily not enough votes on you. Not a 'we can't get anyone on so we randomly kill the demon'-day.
Aero is having a LOT of fun with the Angel protections, yes. It's great. xD
...Richie saw someone? Like, the PIXIE RK? Why keep up the lie after death? Lol? Maybe to keep the fact that a real Ravenkeeper would still be alive hidden. (and looking at your grim, it works nicely)
Ah, the Goblin claim. Not good enough, but so fun.
Seamstress? Sure, George A. Sure. xD
Also, always nice to get a good deadvote out of the way, even if it might have been a mistake.
The dragon is GREAT, and also this interaction was what made me, kinda offhand, mention to my sis that I needed a big plush dragon, so she took like one look and identified what dragon that was and sent me a link. I ended up buying a different variation that I for one liked more color wise and that was very much cheaper. But it's just as big a fluffy and I love it to pieces. Also, a giant plush to cuddle into is SO comforting.
I do love the Goblin nomination.
"100% you are the Cerenovus." Well, yes, you would hope so, wouldn't you? xD
Oh, yes, Jen flipping would be mean here. xD
Love me a good Goblin win though. Two people who spread that they saw Jams as evil and no one thought about the Plague Doctor adding on a cheeky little Goblin there. OR, well, no one who had any interest in prevent said Goblin from just getting executed there.
Very nicely done. Sure, Brendan just outing to you at the right time was lucky, but it was well done.

If you've ever seen NRB's Clocktower videos, their format works really well. Basically, it's a storyteller perspective that only includes the highlights of the individual conversations.
While you won't have everyone's perspective to do quite that, having two perspectives will still provide a lot of conversations to pull from.

    • @aetreides

I might attempt something more like that... I'll have to think how to actually do that given the streaming aspect of things, but... that could be interesting

I like the ST + Demon perspective, it feels like omniscient narrator + MC inner monologue. I'd be interested to see more like it but it's alright if it's too much work, all kinds of perspectives always have their own charm.

I hope to make more in this vein... just can't do so at the frequency I currently operate on. But I agree... in constructing this video, and seeing the other perspectives, it was illuminating to some of the events that took place throughout the game

Glad you enjoyed them. I think that's a part of the game that is so often left out of most videos - the silliness that happens between players while the Storyteller is handling business.
There's a way to balance this game around fun and winning... and it's moments like these that help to quell overall competitiveness about the game

  • @dmitridimitriev

I loved this format! I personally normally prefer the storyteller perspective because it let's you see all the interesting mechanical interactions as they happen and what most of the town talk about too. But the st perspective still misses out on many funny or important conversations because they just can't be everywhere at once.
So this hybrid format is my favorite style - it combines a clear picture of what's happening with the silliest, wholesome and most interesting conversations (or at least, it has more of them). Reminds me of the NRB games where they usually have a dedicated editor who combs through many people's perspectives and picks out the most interesting bits. Very professional! Thank you for the dedication and the time this must have taken.

    • @aetreides
      @aetreides  5 месяцев назад +1

It was a lot of fun, and yes. That's what I was going for: something of a more holistic perspective of the game, featuring all the little insights that might be mentioned in the aftermath of a game (indeed, as they were during the recounting of the game after the grim reveal), but are really fun to see in real time.
Like... the events leading up to Jams and my first conversation, where we both didn't have the entire story, but had come to some similar conclusions as to who was what based on things we've overheard or just general reads combined with mechanical data.
Glad you enjoyed. I'll have to try to make more of these~!

Wow, the effort this must have taken! What a cool project. And a fantastic game to showcase with it, I love it when a bluff comes together that well. But since it takes so much more editing work, and coordination with the ST to have them also record and send their POV, in my opinion it could be a special occasion kind of thing if others also like it. Celebrating a milestone, a Spooky Season special or some such.
Btw, those glove-bracelets, whatever the proper name might be, are absolutely sick and it needs to be said. They totally had me rewinding the video at one point because my magpie brain got distracted from the conversation by shinies.

There is a reason I was happy to debut this particular video when I did. Seemed a good one to herald in the start of a new year... at least for me.
Also, yes. The wrist/hand accessories are VERY fun. Draconic Wares is the particular company I purchased them from. You can find them on www.etsy.com/shop/DraconicWares (No, I'm not on commission, but tell them I sent you anyway... who knows?)

Having multiple perspectives definitely added interesting context to the game, though your single perspectives usually do well at providing coverage of the game-happenings.
Also, having 2 perspectives made for better watching than some most-people-have-a-perspective videos I've seen in the past, since you don't need to try to give every perspective screentime.

I've seen one or two games where the ST and a player both recorded their videos separately (without editing together) and it's interesting seeing the different perspectives. Player perspective can be so confusing when someone says "I think [streamer] is evil." and [streamer] has zero context for where it's coming from. Lots of work but it turned out really cool.

The Bounty Hunter. The Bounty Hunter begins the game knowing an Evil player, and if that player dies, the following night they learn another. But, to counter this, one Townsfolk is turned evil.
