We do things for our stories and the channel. I agree that there are times that you shouldn’t risk the money but we felt like it was worth it to create this character. 😊

@@pinkseifuku they don’t fall off, but her left side does get loose. Arm and leg. I took her apart a couple of weeks ago and tightened her screws but she’s loose again already 🤷♀️
Shes so cute but the pliers used are the wrong size. I tried with the 3/8 josten, but it doesn't fit. I bought a 3/8 based by what was provided in the video, and it is too large to do the spine. I bought a male spine cause a female is hard to come by in the hopes this tool would connect the spine. It won't fit, just slides around it, so unless they sent me a larger tool than what was I purchased their tools don't say the size it is so I can't verify if is the right one needed. Looking at their tools, it should actually be a 3/16 MO3018 Jeton 26175, not 3/8 stated in the video.
Well, we wanted her to be a younger sister to another doll. And of course we could alter her head to fit on a shorter body from another company, but she is a prototype and her head is irreplaceable. As we explain in the video we basically created a stunt body to use for video/camera work knowing she only really looks good with long robes / dresses on.
Lol she still has a full size body. And while Danny is working on a 1:4 scale doll, the pocket dolls will be a scaled down version of the smart doll with smaller heads vs a “younger” version. The proportions will be all wrong. Doesn’t seem to be something he’s interested in.
I agree I don’t understand the point of cutting a doll no matter what kind it is or how expensive it is. All that hard work put into making those dolls and they get cut up. This is just my opinion.
John used some pretty basic tools. The most complex being the rotary cutter / dremel tool. Other than that it was some clamps, a hammer, the sharpest Xacto knife, and a heat lamp.

She is definitely not perfect but suits what we need quite well. 🥰 I made her some slippers using Beth Ramsden’s pattern today. So cute!

Changing the head isn't the only way to use a DD body. You can modify the neck peg on the body instead. This is awesome though, you did a great job.
Probably could have, but I have to say, John’s modified smart doll is still more stable than my mochi ashi body.
