I lost both my parents last year. I didn't think I had anymore tears left. Well I do. My mom always hummed this song while in the garden. Everybody needs a good cry once in awhile. Thank You Lukas.

@@andrewinsinga2993, I am so very sorry for what I can only imagine you are going thru. I lost my dad unexpectedly at age 27 (me, not him.) Take things really slow and easy, right now. Remember to show yourself the same patience and understanding that you would to your best friend. If you live in the United States and have a working telephone, dialing 2-1-1 will connect you with United Way. (I just dialed myself to verify.) Here is an info link: www.unitedway.org/our-impact/featured-programs/2-1-1# I received very low cost counseling in my 20s, subsided by United Way. United Way has access to programs all around the U.S. related to probably every condition imaginable. If you belong to a church, synagogue, temple etc. I imagine there is a religious and/or spiritual community there to understand, console and possibly assist. I and many others have benefited almost beyond words from Bereavement Counseling (a special type of counseling sometimes offered by clergy and others specific to loss such as you have just endured.) United Way may also have info relative to funeral expenses and likely any other matter you might name. Please allow me to keep you & your father and for that matter your entire family in my thoughts and prayers. Lighting a candle with the knowledge that while such a gesture may or may not help, surely our prayers do no harm in such a situation. Wishing you all the best. Music and good friends got me thru my turbulent 20s. Sometimes the distraction of physical labor; e.g. a close friend with a college degree got herself a job in a restaurant washing dishes when her husband passed unexpectedly. Loss comes to everyone, in one form or another. We each grieve in unique and personal ways. I remember that when my father died, it was as if gravity changed, a universal constant in my life was suddenly very different. There is nothing in my experience (I am now an old guy entering my 60's) that equates to losing a parent. Remember to practice deep breathing. Cry manly tears when needed to let out the pain, and in time, my friend, you'll discover as I did that eventually the pain goes away, but the person stays with us always, in our heart and in our memories. Try also if you can to be patient with the sometimes annoying vexations of modern living. Hoping you have good friends along with a supportive loving family. Take good care, and know that the sacred (or Holy) spirit of God loves you.

Wow!! It's funny how life is isn't it? I had no idea two weeks ago our world was heading for a disaster of such a magnitude as the one we are ALL living in right now. I never thought I would be explaining to my kid's what a global pandemic is and why it's important we don't leave our homes (We're Dallas Tx) right now. Fast forward to tonight, I sat down on my computer kinda feeling sad and defeated about my financial situation(a direct result of this pandemic) and somehow landed here listening to you. Thank you! I can't explain it but I just feel better now. Music does that though. He is obviously passionate about his music & sings because it brings him joy and peace. He chose to use his voice to bring joy and peace to the rest of us tonight and that is just a sweet beautiful and selfless thing. Thank you Lukas!

I pray you’ll stand for freedom, liberty, read history, read what happened to every oppressed people in the world same storyline over and over. Read and teach your kids the Declaration of Independence, the whole thing, Read the Federalists Papers. Read YOUR Constitution. Learn what common law is, not the codified law that is shoved down our throats. Rise up and be counted as a person who stands for freedom and liberty, free will, the exact things God wanted for all. God chose America to be the torch carriers for this task. We are sincerely close to losing it all. #standForFreedom

Just random thought knowing his father has always been his authentic self while most of us older people had to change to fit in to society. If pot was legal where I live I know it would take away so much of the anxiety &bring out my own creativity like it did back in the day but I'm older now ¬ gonna weaken my lungs by smoking so it is what it is. I've heard of edibles but never seen them. To be young and free again to have parents and siblings. Mine are all gone their memory is all I have.

I like this song but never paid attention to the words before like 'tied me to the kitchen chair & cutoff my hair' it's bizarre ,I don't get it... Of course the Hallelujah part & melody is all beautiful . I want to sit down with a harmonica & magically play along but I'm just bewildered to the point of motionless. My brain thinks 'what am I going to fix for upper' thats about it. I really appreciate the brothers and their dad. He wrote some of my favorite songs to sing and play. Blue eyes crying in the rain. Amazing version. So personal and heart felt. I saw Willie Nelson on campus at University of Memphis around 1999. What I love about this family, other than their amazing musical gift, is how down home they are. I feel like a buddy just sent me that song.

I watched all of Lucas‘s evening sessions and enjoy each and everyone of them. So far this is my favorite I watch it over and over. Lucas looks so happy peaceful and content singing this song. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him look so happy when singing as he does when he sang this song. I wish Lucas the peace happiness and contentment he felt was singing this song.
