When I wanted to leave, there was a $250 cancellation fee. I was like; $250 for what? They weren't providing a service. They were only providing a building. They did have group sessions but my monthly fees covered those. All cancellation fees everywhere is a trash business model. They should be illegal. I'm done with your product so we are going to retaliate by charging you one more time but we will charge more than 5x the monthly fee for you to leave.

In fact, when members do not use the services, the company profits more because less use is minimal wear on the equipment and less money needed on maintenance and trainers. Cancellation stops the flow of money to the owner, who is using for fundraising.

I joined a kick boxing gym. It was a hobby for me for like a year. I bought all the equipment. All they really provided me was a building and an opportunity to join group sessions weekly. When I wanted to leave, there was a $250 cancellation fee. I was like; $250 for what? They weren't providing a service. They were only providing a building. They did have group sessions but my monthly fees covered those. All cancellation fees everywhere is a trash business model. They should be illegal. I'm done with your product so we are going to retaliate by charging you one more time but we will charge more than 5x the monthly fee for you to leave.

Not going is not the same as cancelling a subscription. In fact, when members do not use the services, the company profits more because less use is minimal wear on the equipment and less money needed on maintenance and trainers. Cancellation stops the flow of money to the owner, who is using for fundraising.
