The first kata is called 'hakuson' and is a Shintaido variation on a traditional bojutsu kata. The second kata is a new jo kata, which I believe the announcer called 'tsure no kata', although I'm not familiar with it. The bo kumite is called 'shinjo sho' and is unique to Shintaido. The next kumite shows how to disarm a swordsman with a jo (walking stick), but only in Japan would they be crazy enough to perform this in public, with kids running about, using a live sword!
So I believe this is a demonstration in how the mind recognizes/detects the flow of ki energy and the practioner is manipulating his own (via seika tanden) and also interfering with opponents source of ki energy?
