The first sequence shows 'yon hon kumibo' which is a sequence of four fairly basic bo moves with a parter. Then follows 2 kata called 'hino kata' (kata of fire) and 'kazeno kata' (kata of wind). Each is demonstrated twice, starting right side then left side. These are the first 2 kata that Shintaido students can expect to learn with the bo.
Shintaido (means new body way) is a martial art created in the sixties in Japan, by Master Aoki and a group of Karate shotokai practitioners (Master Egami way).
