    About this video:
    In this video Yaro from Aviator Inspirations talks about pilot benefits. Pilot perks, especially airline pilot perks and flight benefits are not very well understood. The benefits of working for an airline are numerous, and there are different perks of being a commercial pilot, as well as airline pilot family travel benefits. Flight attendant benefits are similar to pilot benefits for family, and airline travel benefits can open up your whole world. Enjoy!

    Hi Yaro! I am considering a pilot career, and I recently watched almost every videos you make, thank you for all the information you provide in the video! I have two stupid questions to ask, hope you don't mind, I would really appreciate your answers.
    One is how safe or dangerous the pilot career is, for example, for big planes that have more than one engine, even one fails, the other can possibly keep flying the airplane, but what if it happens on the small plane? and the other thing is pilots are exposed to higher radiation up in the air so frequently, that some people say they have higher chance of getting skin cancer and other issue, is it just rumor?
    Second question is many pilots mention one of the reason they love their career is they get to travel around the world. It makes sense, however, after you and the crew land in one city, how long can you stay there before flying back? I heard it is just two days, that's why I am wondering do pilots really have a chance to travel around?

    • @AviatorInspirations
      @AviatorInspirations  4 года назад +1

      Happy to hear you are finding my channel helpful!
      To answer the 1st question, in my 15yrs I’ve only had 2 emergencies. In single engine airplanes, you land anywhere you can, usually a road or highway, but those are so rare that most pilots will never see it. However, you train for engine failures during flight training.
      Yes radiation is a thing, but there are mixed scientific studies on it. I’m planning on making a video about this in 2020.
      In terms of travel, it’s sometimes a catch 22, yes we travel, but layovers are short and we usually stay in hotels beside the airport. If you do long haul, then yes you can have up to 2 days somewhere, but on short haul your average layover is around 15hrs. Your only advantage is flight benefits like I talked about in this video.

    Hi Could you genuinely answer this question?
    Is flight training or becoming a pilot risky job ?

    • @AviatorInspirations
      @AviatorInspirations  2 года назад +1

      Genuinely it depends on the country you are flying in. In North America, it’s a safe job, as airplanes are maintained really well, and pilot training is top notch. In other developing countries, there is a lot of bribery and cutting corners in maintenance, lack in pilot training and poor safety records.

    And also is the airline responsible for all the hotel charge in case there is a layover? because I remember watching another video, that pilot changed his career from airline pilot back to flight instructor, and he mentioned that sometimes when there is delay in one flight, that results in he is late for the second flight he is responsible for and so on, and eventually he even needs to pay for the hotel fee...I am not sure if it is because he is not a Canadian pilot, but that makes me really confused.

    • @AviatorInspirations
      @AviatorInspirations  4 года назад +1

      No mountains! The majority of the people in BC live in the lower mainland, so there are fewer aviation jobs. Alberta is flat, and the flying spans border to border, with more cities that need to be connected by air. Plus more flight schools if you want to be a flight instructor. I’m not saying you can’t find a job in BC, but historically most pilots leave BC to build their hours, then later come back.

      Everyone is trying to get into the USA because of the high pay, but it’s very difficult to get a work permit for pilots (3-5years wait minimum). Europe has had several airline bankruptcies, so I’m not sure how desperate airlines are for pilots at the moment.
