Being a stay at home wife and mom isn't a trend. Cosplaying as a Pleasantville character for social media IS a trend. 🤦🏾‍♀️ This is an AESTETIC that is being showcased for content and coin, just like every other aestetic on these apps. And she has more than enough time to work too, because she doesn't have any kids. She lives with her husband and doesn't have much else to do except clean the house, run errands and cook. Unless she cleans the house from top-to-bottom every single day with a toothbrush and makes every single ingredient she cooks with from scratch, she has a lot of free time every single day. Hence the over the top styling and all the videos she produces and interviews she does. She is working as an influencer while pretending she isn't.

      @monicalong1371 3 месяца назад

@@Frugal637 I'm 55, have been happily married for 27 years and I would tell younger women the same exact things. Backup plans are not only for divorce, and having them does not indicate any disrespect to one's husband or lack of trust. It's just SMART. I'm a nurse, but have been primarily a housewife/sahm through our marriage with minimal nursing work thrown in occasionally. My husband is the traditional provider type with a six figure salary, but he has even said that knowing that I have viable career options and could work to support the household if needed is a source of security and relief for him. While I wouldn't call myself a trad wife, my husband and I both agreed that my role would be primarily in the home BUT that I would remain employable in the nursing profession as well. It's for my own security, plus that of our household. He finds the trad wife content bothersome, and says any man who would not want that extra security for his wife is dangerous and a low quality man (which he has told our 23 year old daughter as well). There are no downsides to having backup plans. I've always viewed it as added security for our family, and I do not choose to view my marriage with a defeatist attitude, but in the event of divorce, I would not be screwed. We're both 100% committed to our marriage, but we're also not trapped. When commitment and loyalty are present, good men will not feel threatened by backup plans.

  • @theechubbyone

The issue with trad wife content gaining popularity is trad husbands is not gaining equal ground. Men today want traditional value partners but fudge the lines on their own part in that dynamic. The dynamic has always asked/required more of women and we all peeped it watching women try to do it all or stay traditional to undeserving partners.

For sure, the types that like this type of content only want to cosplay traditionalism. They want the wife that caters to their every need and whim while being completely submissive, but she also has to go out and work a regular job too because he can't afford to pay all the bills on his own. They want 50/50% finances with 5/95% effort from the wife. And when they have kids she'll have to pick up every part of child rearing too, while he at most will "babysit" his own children once in a long while. But just for an hour or two, because child rearing is a woman's job! At the end the wife has three fulltime jobs (a regular job, taking care of the big baby aka her husband and taking care of the kids) and might come to the conclusion she's better off quitting the second job all together. In situations like these this would bring her relief instead of stress.

The woman at 14:30 is absolutely delusional. Your resume is supposed to set you apart from other applicants and set you up as the perfect candidate for the job. How are you going to achieve this when your supposed "household manager"-skillset is something literally everybody has. Everyone has a household to run, whether you're a SAHM or not, so how is that a skillset that will set you apart? Everybody organizes and plans trips, that's not a special skill. That's like trying to market yourself based on experience with using the internet for everyday tasks. Everybody has to cook, clean, organize finances, activities etc., whether you work or not. So on the one hand she's advising you to try to market yourself with skills that everybody has to have to be able to live, while forgetting that you will still lack the actual experience in the work field that would make you the perfect fit for the job you are applying for. The only employers that will not laugh at this blatant attempt of sprucing up a resume while not having the necessary degrees and work experience, will be the ones that don't care about your skillset and will offer you the minimum wage that usually accompanies such jobs.

I regret not listening to the older women giving me advice when I was 19-22...They were right. Old people are always right. Young people don't listen and are fixated on the NOW rather than the future. So right now, it feels good, things are going well and they feel like life will always be that way... young people are fixated and high off of the happy dopamine that they feel in the present moment.. but life has a funny way of changing circumstances that you didn't see coming.
Now I'm 32 and I want to protect younger women and guide them, so they avoid having to go to therapy or struggle financially, but of course, they know it all, and I am just a bitter old woman with jealousy. /s

All their points for relying on their partner quite literally do not make sense. Even if your husband is a man of integrity who would not leave you destitute in the event of a break up. Even a man who makes sure you have a personal account/allowance he cannot touch. Any man can be touched by layoffs, injury, illness and the ultimate inevitable life experience: DEATH. I'd rather my household not suffer from hunger, cold or foreclosure because we have multiple sources of income and leave well below what we actually bring in. A plan is not fear, it is insurance. I had chicken pox REALLY BAD at age 30. Had to sleep with tight socks on my hands at night like a baby or I would scratch in my sleep. Cool baths as heat makes the itching much worse, calamine lotion might work to relieve. There may be better creams on prescription. Do NOT scratch, those scars hyperpigment and last years/are permanent!
You'll get at least 2 or 3 waves of poxes through your body, so it could take 7-10 days to stop getting new ones. If you get them in your throat or airways contact your GP immediately, you may need medical help!
Do whatever you can for your mental health.... seriously it can get dark and I was not ready for how low I got! It's a symptom in adult chicken pox that many don't know about. Do/watch things that make you happy or self soothe.
Trust your body, it will heal. Eat nourishing foods and stay well hydrated. This is a moment in time, step aside and let it pass. Sending love and healing hugs. You got this! ❤

If any sores are open, let them breathe but cover them up when you go to bed. Wash your bedding a lot more frequently even like a week after it goes away to make sure you get rid of any of the virus that got shed or fluid from sores. I'm 55, happily married for 27 years, and my husband and I decided early on that my role would be primarily that of a homemaker/sahm. I would say that we're thriving, but whether I would be considered a trad wife is questionable. I married at age 28 and several years into a nursing career. Our plan was also for me to remain employable in the nursing profession, so during the course of our marriage, I have worked off and on minimally enough to achieve that. Trad wife influencers say they do not believe in backup plans but backup plans are not only for divorce, but also for illness, death, injury or job loss of the provider husband. Good men (and yes, they are out there) will not feel threatened by backup plans, but will encourage them. Trustworthy men do not want trapped women, they want mutually loving relationships. So while I've had a different experience from the older women in the video, I would advise the same things they do.

And your love, you SHOULD invest in it as a magical thing that will last a lifetime. And for it to last a lifetime-- you absolutely, HAVE to have power in the relationship. If you want to set your marriage up for best success, you must have your own power which includes the ability to leave. You will not have a happy, magical marriage, without you also having power in the relationship. The two cannot co-exist. It seems like people just don't think about certain things.
If you're a housewife, a allowance is mandatory. You have to have your own account and a retirement annuity and life insurance. I don't understand how this isn't obvious.
Also. What's stopping a housewife from being educated and maintaining a skill through a hobby or volunteering...
I don't think discouraging housewifehood is the solution. Everyone is being so extreme.

Ah....Yts gonna yt. Because I'm corny and likely jealous of their privilege (not for real for real), I had a hard time paying attention, but I truly appreciate the work. Money and class matter and they have no love for me, let along BIPOC Sisters (I'm Olive yt). I'm participating in the 4B West Movement for ALL womenkind, but my efforts and attention are elsewhere.
(Destiny, we love your BEAUTIFUL, natural face and we hope you feel better!!)

14:31 is my favorite advice!! I was a SAHM with my ex husband, he owned his own trucking company and I helped run the books and business operations. So when I left him I put on my resume that i was a bookkeeper and office manager for a “family company” for 5+ years

My mom was a stay at home mom for the first 11 years…She just wanted to go back to work as a secretary. She only did it because she already had the skills from HS and experience. And that was probably because that story was very common 30+years ago…

This is crazy so this whole time youd be a trad wife and not be stacking up your money on the side or behind his back like come on get some sense its absolutely stupid to depend on a man that can wakeup one day and leave you now your homeless with the kids because you didnt think ahead like seriously

I personally have wanted to be a housewife and stay at home mom since I was 3. Little House on the prairie really influenced that, and I truly love caring for my home and husband. I put some rules on myself though to make sure I wouldn't end up in a relationship where I was left with nothing. The rules were simple, find a man who will take into precaution the idea of him dying and leaving me and the kids. To come up with a plan so that he leaves us behind with money, shelter and food. Same for if he got hurt and couldn't work. And if we divorce, to ensure I am paid alimony fairly so that I can have shelter, food. I also made sure with all that in mind that I got an education and some work experience before even looking for my future husband, and when I did find him to have some sort of small side gig going on too ( homesteading) I happened to find a man that checked all the boxes and more, so I know that I will be safe, and prepared if anything does happen. And no, my husband is not rich. . . Moral of the story, everything they're saying can be prevented if they stopped and thinked for a moment.

I’m a sahm but I’m also a navy veteran so I have some disability I get every month. I also door dash sometimes and every now and then when things are rough I get a part time job to keep my resume active. It doesn’t matter if it’s fast food or what it SHOWS you’re still actively employable and not at home doing drugs or being lazy as some assume about sahms. Also got that gi bill so about to go back to school. I have a dpop shop and just started an llc too that I haven’t shared yet with the world. And I Trust GOD will provide if I ever have to leave bc HE always has. And I’m not going to lie I’ve almost had to a few times. But I let him no I’m not scared to start over I’ve take refuge in the shelter of the most high.

Sorry, 2 incomes is more "popular?" Like, we're only doing it to look cool, rather than because cost of living literally requires it?

Oatmeal bath girl! That and calamine lotion. Both are usually at pharmacy’s or grocery stores, but you can look online to see where you can find it where you are

Be careful ladies. I live in an area with women who were/are married for well over 25+ years. One of the ladies, her husband passed from cancer. She lost everything. She used to live in a very well to do subdivision, she now rents a room. She lost everything. Only the women who are professionals not only have skills but they are adept to handle the "outside" world. The women who stayed at home, are mentally behind. It is very obvious.

Believe me, HR departments are not fooled by giving basic homemaker skills executive sounding titles. They are not going to call your ex, your kids or the PTA to get a recommendation. Of course, being a homemaker requires skills, but most HR's do not believe those skills are transferrable to a business setting because everybody has at least some of those skills to just get by in life and they could have a million candidates with those same skills. Get relevant marketable job skills and stay relevant in those skills somehow.

It’s definitely an aesthetic and escapism for many people that watch the content in my opinion.
I remember watching the first women that was presented in this videos QA video. It was very telling . She even expressed the fact that her breast implants are making her sick but didn’t talk about removing them.

My dad was good to my mom until he was humbled by the world and didn’t become successful. He then started treating my mom like sh*t. But she survived it because she had a job, was able to divorce him, and move on with her life. She still struggles with depression but she’ll be ok. Would’ve been a horrible life if she wasn’t able to be independent.

Trad wife and stay at home mom aren't the same thing. Trad wife includes the whole religious submission thing.

Oh yes, submission. That's a favorite of the trads. But the verse that calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the Church is never mentioned. Men who love their wives as such won't be threatened by backup plans, but will encourage them. Good trustworthy men do not want trapped women, they want mutually loving relationships.
