  • This week, I am back at @theclimbinghangaruk in Sheffield to set some boulders on the Kilterboard! @KilterClimbingGrips
    Kilterboards are a great training tool and can be found across most towns these days with the easy-to-use app and LED board to train on a huge variety of boulders so can be used in your training regime to build power.
    I set three problems which can be found now on the Kilterboard app for you to try ranging from an easier problem right through to a 'pretty tricky' 8A which packs a punch at the end! The grades for these were all set on a 50 degree angle.
    I hope you have fun on these and let me know in the comments below how you get on!
    00:00 Setting out the challenge.
    00:25: Shauna 1: Easy Boulder V3/6A+.
    02:28: Shauna 2: Medium Boulder V6/7A.
    05:10: Shauna 3: Hard Boulder V11/8A.

    "V6 is quite hard." Thank you Shauna, this is the validation I needed today

    Instructions unclear. Heated the board to 50 degrees, avoided glowing holds and I was banned from entering both Sauna 1 and Sauna 2.

    Had a great time on the V3 and V6. The V11 was almost incomprehensible to me, watching you do the opening sequence statically is nuts and really shows your power in a way that WC climbing rarely does.

    Realy impressive last no foot moov on the Shauna 3 ! I love that ! But i will try with a right small foot 😅😅 thanks we need a episode where your explain how you build a kilter hard session !!

    So strong on that last climb (v11)! Really like it!
    Crazy how you can jump with so much momentum to that 2nd to last hold as the left hand is slightly tilted right. Always slipping off because of the momentum to the right. I need to cut loose before and campus to the 2nd to last hold to stick it.
    Thanks for these nice boulders!

    So cool 🤩 will try all three problems, they look really nice. Would love to see more kilter content! For instance a video where you try some of the most repeated problems over a range of gades and give your opinion on them and analyze the climbs, possibly together with a more "average" climber, to make it a bit more relatable ;)

    50° and easy don't go well in the same sentence for me :-/ Gravity is too high where I live ;-)

    Is a hudini considered a match? My hands never make contact w eachother at any point. Just swapping hands.
    Also it looks like that last one got downgraded to a v8. Did u do that?

    that 7a is really hard for the grade...cool,but this is not 7a...I've done 7b's in font that felt easier then this

    Personally offended by the v3 on 50° being called easy. Must get strong one day.

    matching on boards is a no-no. Shame on you.

    • @ClayWilliams
      @ClayWilliams 5 месяцев назад +7

      Matching on the kilter is fair game as long as it doesn’t say no matching and has the little hands symbol at the top. The hard boulder looks like it wouldn’t go unless you match

    • @MrWhoabuddy
      @MrWhoabuddy 5 месяцев назад

      @@ClayWilliams I know the rules. Still sucks. Forcing a match on the board is as dumb as it gets. Similar to the moonboard.

    • @daneelolivaw4323
      @daneelolivaw4323 5 месяцев назад +16

      @@patrickajello1931 Some people do board climbing for training strength and therefore refrain themselves from matching because it can lower the strength requirement. This is fine (though personally I like to use as much technique as I can in any kind of climbing, including boards).
      But some people demand that the rest of the world follow their made-up rules. Those people are bloody morons.
