Throwback to a better time in life. Nothing compares to anime on VHS/Laser Disc. Also late night satellite dish Action Channel, and SciFi anime. What happened to those days of past? My collection is pretty solid, but I still am missing A LOT of classic titles on VHS or re-released DVDs. My ex sold sooooo much of my titles that I can't replace at this time 😭. I struggle to watch anything but Japanese Anime. I've delved deep into it, and still I find titles I've yet to see after 20+ years of being diehard. It's a (near) endless rabbit hole that allows me to relive my days of youth. I cannot thank the creators, producers, animators, and uploaders, for bringing such nostalgia back too me. The glory days are long gone, no doubt. But, I respect certain current titles as much as the pioneering art that laid the groundwork for modern animation. I feel like I can travel back in time with anime, and I truly appreciate the talent, time, and effort that went into producing such prolific works. Galaxy Express 999 and Gundam started it all for myself, and recently 'The Drifter(s)?' keep me going with Japanese Anime. Nothing will ever compare to the genius of the brilliant minds and people and who brought them into existence. I'm glad I live(d) in a time where I was able to witness such works. All I can do is wish for the coming generations to be able to witness the same. Hopefully it will continue onward like the days of their release. Much love and respect for the pioneers. I fell in love with the other day with someone who I never thought to bc of anime, and I felt I was a sole survivor in my area. I will try my best to keep these traditions alive and continue to follow and spread the word of the forefathers until I fade away. Y'all keep on spreading these titles despite the powers that be so they never disappear like the knowledge of Alexandria. Cheers!!!

You sound like a good well educated anime professional. My brother or sister I am looking for an anime for 25 years now. I was a little 4 or 5 year old child in 1996.
I still can't forget what I saw to this day and I am 33 now.
I watched a lot of TV and cartoons as a kid at least 6 hours a day.
But back then my father brought a VHS from his friend and told me that he told him that I should watch it. This was my first VHS and I didn't know why someone stranger send me a VHS. I didn't even know who this is today. Just someone randome. I had thus VHS only for 1 day because he brought it back the next day.
Oh boy even now as adult after watching 200 animes I can't forget the feeling of this VHS.
The depressing thriller film noir feeling on my neck.
I don't know if it was a episode or OVA or movie. I never found it. Maybe it's easy mainstream or difficult rare.
I can only remember the beginning and how scared and confused I was. I didn't understand anything even I watched any movie or cartoons. Hell boy I even went into James Bond cinema with my father and I was a kid 6 years old lol.
The VHS began with a space ship and a few protagonists.
The spaceship had a lot of colors who turned on and off crazy like and some terrific sound from the space ship. It was so annoying the sound of the ship.
It landed in some ice crystal cave. The rainbow colors from the spaceship reflected in this cave like crazy. If you have epilepsy you would die. And the loud Noise sound landing the ship made me crazy.
It reminds me to this day as something scary. I had very adult vibes and that this is not designed for children.
      But I was a child. I don't if I am remembering wrong.
But to this day I am still searching and don't find any clue.

The only horror animes I could think of in a spaceship with protagonists are Root Search, Lily Cat and Hell Target.
      There's also Memories: Magnetic Rose
I hope this helps you, maybe the anime you seen was probably one of these if it was a horror.

Just bought the light novels, OST, and shitajiki prints for this series. Gotta say, while I wouldn’t say this is one of ARTMIC’s top works (Bubblegum Crisis and the Genocyber manga are pretty damn good ngl), I can appreciate just how much love went into these OVAs and the other Rhea/Earth Chapter Gall Force stuff. You can tell the lads at ARTMIC really were proud of their work for this entry in the Gall Force franchise, possibly even moreso than the first 3 OVAs. Definitely a decent little watch even these days if you want something fun to watch for an evening.

These 80's and 90's anime are better than the most movies at that time. Watched them as kid was great but nowadays they are much more interesting with this experience. They had some way out stories but so real nowadays. We all expected flying cars in 2024 but look where politrictians and big corp got us. Non stop wars, technology (real) is only for army and multi rich people, and pushing us on the edge of WW3. That's why I like to watch them today to forget everything and free imagination to wonder through cosmos.

Classic anime but the English dub is just so horrible in comparison to the Japanese version. Not only is the voice acting stilted and lacking but they completely changed the entire soundtrack for the English dub.
