For people who complain about bad dubbing or think this has bad dubbing, you've obviously never seen Battle Royal High School, shit makes Speed Racer sound like Shakespeare.
+Sly “SOUL'D OUT” Rocko That was a gag dub made with the original studio's permission (as long as they didn't change the character names or plot) because the show had poor ratings.

great anime about scientific genetic experiments and the monsters they create. Also it inspired the anime series the Guyver which is my favorite. Thanks for posting and I hope you post more anime like this in the future.
BAOH OVA should have around 60 minutes or made as a two episode OVA instead of 46 minutes because there a a lot of scenes that were cut out from the manga. The ending scene from manga after the girl Sumire finish her narrative speech about Ikuro still alive, she now live with an old man and old woman and how she find happiness and The End, that final ending scene was cut too.
Saw this a long time ago during the early 90s in raw Japanese. I still think back to how cool it was seeing real anime for the first time. Thank you for posting!
There's a bunch of stuff from the manga that this OVA omits, which could take a while, but other than some relatively minor details (Ikuro playing banjo during the crash and nearly drowning in ice water as a kid, Doress being around since WW2 and under the command of Douglas MacArthur after Japan lost and their lab being under a Buddhist temple with a statue that read your retinas for access, Notsuo being able to inflate his tail like a balloon to fly and having retractable spikes in his knees, generally more explanation given to how the Baoh Armed Phenomenon works and inner monologues and of course "BARU!" etc.), here's the main ones: 1. In the manga, there was an old couple who take Ikuro and Sumire in as guests (hence the title "Baoh the Visitor") and Sumire lives with them at the end. The old man, Rokusuke, was also hypnotized by Dorudo (the cyborg) into shooting Ikuro, but it doesn't work. They also have a son and it's sort of implied that they're Ikuro's actual grandparents. 2. The manga also has some more mutant animals for Ikuro to fight: a giant mandrill made by Doress called Martin with weapons in his stomach, some bats called Aroma Bats with weird breath that screws up Baoh's sensory organ (the yellow thing on its head) and giant spiders called Sap Spiders that drool acid.
+Orion Bixler Haha I remember when "anime" itself was a new slang term and when it hit the States at first it was marketed sometimes as "Japanimation." I distinctly remember Kojima in MGS1 referring to it that way as well. Now you never hear that term anymore. It's like considered old and "uncool" now, like calling the internet the "world wide web" which was "new" and more "hip" back in the day, lol. It's not like it ever stopped being the world wide web, but people will look at you like you're a senior citizen if you call it that... language is funny like that sometimes.

There's not much to continue. I read the manga it was a short series and the anime did a great job to cover all of it. There's a few differences like a few more battles one is with a beast tamer and the beast which was good and that girl who died in the cave with the professor she died earlier in the manga.
