You’re currently spoiling me with your content sir. I’ve recently bought a Cross Country one of these, a forbidden fuel 5 cylinder auto and I like it very much. It’s super duper comfy, very economical with a decent turn of speed and generally feels like a Very Nice Thing. I think it looks great, build and material quality seems very good, the upgraded stereo is excellent and there are loads of interesting and thoughtful little details. Mrs Miller and I are very happy with our new whip.
Had one of these up to a year ago it being a facelift '68 model with the Thor hammer headlights but auto. Very well built and the seats were very soft and comfortable.Fancied a change of car and was lucky enough to get the same price I paid for it due to the used prices hike. Never had a problem with it but the interior was starting to look a bit dated. Now own a newer Mazda 3 lovely underrated car.
Well, we do very much like Mazda3s on this channel as well! By the end of production in 2019, the interior was a bit dated, sadly. The facelift ones do like rather agreeable.
Really had a soft spot for these. Love the look, love the value they give. I just don’t think I could be entertained by one for long enough to justify getting one
@@lloydvehicleconsulting I have to agree. My dad has an '08 V70 and it's the best car he's had in decades. Never wanted for anything and never been too small.
My friend has a forbidden fuel version of this in R Design Trim (Job at time involved a lot of travelling from the Scottish borders to central Scotland and occasionally up to Aberdeen) Think his has covered 210000 miles since he got in 2018, he originally went to purchase a Mark 3 Focus Estate but test drove the Volvo and found it to be a better car all round compared to the Focus. It's also survived a Deer strike, Hi lux side swiping it and a boy in a Toyota going into the side of it, all within the time he has had it. A great review as always Sir.
Got the prefacelift S60 version of this but with 1 more cylinder and a nice blue badge on the back. A nice car but the earlier Volvos are so much more reliable and rust resistant.
@@lloydvehicleconsulting anything with 5 or more cylinders will suffice, preferably with manual transmission but I fear you would not like/ be allowed to test drive either of mine sir. They're a bit frowned upon.
Apologies, sir, that the Americans demanded less steering feel. Them demanding Americans dominating market decisions, eh? Funny thing is I don't remember seeing too many of these over here.
Yes sir, a very odd choice... I am not sure the Mark II V40 came to America at all, to be honest! Certainly, the S40 Mark II was sold there, although only with some of the larger engines.

Sir, I am sure that you and Mrs Miller are happy with your new Volvo, but rules are rules, and thus we are unable to discuss said V40 on this channel.
This was enjoyable, informative and educated me, thank you.
Thank you, sir! Glad you have been educated and informed.
Great review Joseph. Always really liked the design.
Thank you very much indeed, Mr Shaw!

I actually prefer the previous generation of Volvos this size, but if it had a lighter interior, it would be a lot better.

Yes, that would be the P3 V70. They are known for being quite good, although the earlier P2 V70s are regarded as being even better by some.

We do like white block Volvos on this channel, sir, don't we?

@@pizzalover3 , sir, thank you for your self-censorship, we will not tell the Mayor of London what is in your collection.

Tiny windows allied to a black interior means, as you said, a "sombre" atmosphere. I find it unappealing.
Sir, we need a nice beige leather interior, don't we?
@@lloydvehicleconsulting Exactly so!
We aim to please, sir!
