    I received one of these with a 58mm f1.4 that I wanted to buy. The 50 is amazing. I prefer its IQ to that of the 58.

      I've heard the 58 is good but I haven't tried it yet. This little 50, though, is really solid!

    Great pictures Marco. Yesterday, I've spent an hour shooting this lens with my X-Pro1. It was the first time I shot with this lens. My initial impression is that this lens is tricky to focus at longer distances. The focus adjustment is so touchy at that point. In fact unlike other 50mm lenses, this one I needed to open up to f2 just to focus, then stop it down back to intended f8 to take a picture. Such was the faintness of focus peaking and touchyness of focus ring rotation. The overall results are positive, pictures look good if you take the time to focus. I suspect at closer distances, the focusing action will be correspondingly better, but I had not tested it to verify. Overall, this lens is quite cheap and allows taking good photos.

      Odd, mine didn't have such issues. Maybe the focusing helicoid got a little loose in yours...

    A fantastic review, very clearly shows the benefits of this lens that in my opinion and comparing it with other lenses of the time and some much more modern, its value for money does not have much competition.. Thank you very much

    I picked up one of these about a month ago. Haven't had a chance to take it for a spin yet... been thinking of using it primarily for video.

    I nearly bought one of these recently but then noticed some fungus. But now you've reminded me of it, I may seek one out again.

      Eh, if you find a cheap and clean one it might be worth trying, but I wouldn't say it's a must have

    I just picked up one recently. Looking for an MD RF adapter.... but think I might need to get a 3D printed one!

    • @MarcoAries
      @MarcoAries  Год назад +1

      RF mount doesn't have many adapters yet, hopefully we'll see more in the near future!

      @@MarcoAries I received the m42 and FD adapters for RF today. Here in South Africa it always takes a bit longer for it to become avaialble, so am really glad I got those 2. Most of my vintage lensss are FD and M42, and especially going through a m42-EF-EF-RF adapter chain is not great for the quality.

      It would seem that's the common way to do it, but it is quite a pain in the back...

    Io questa lente la adoro! Anche se ho sbagliato acquisto perché puntavo alla f1.7 non me ne penso e la uso ogni volta che posso sia lato video che foto!

      @@MarcoAries ma infatti io ne sono innamorato di questo 50! Oltretutto per essere una lente di 40 anni fa è si morbida ma non eccessivamente e non ha grandi dominanti di colore.. ha un suo carattere ma senza essere invadente! Non so quante lenti vintage possano avere le stesse performance! Ora sto cercando il 28 e il 35!😊

      No, that adapter is for the A mount, this lens uses the Minolta MD mount, there's a link in the description to the adapter I used on my Sony
