- Monster Bass south of the border - Lake El Salto in Western Mexico. Dawn, floaded timber, islands, drop-offs, tons of shad and an army of Florida Strain Largemouth Bass creates a bass fisherman dream.
One of the greatest fishing fishing videos I have ever seen..... Great editing, people, lake, and fish. Wow. Amazing
the second time your reel came off, luckily that happened - was the first time that someone released a bass properly on this video
The guy with the orange cap is the only one who knows how to release a fish.
his last name is braid and he is using mono
awesome video!!!!!!!!
Or maybe a BASS-OLOGIST!!!!!!!!! Oh man. Great narrating.
Wish St. Paul MN, was like that..... Nothing but monsters
Thankyou Gail..Jan 30,2018..\Will be back next week for one last shot at the big one before going back to Canada>>>>>>>>>
"None of them under 5 pounds" bruh most of the ones we have seen have been 2-3 pounders
Great vid guys, Loved it!
what a great video it was cool when he got the ish without the pole
Believe it or not, he knew what he was doing. We have to do that with big bass here in East Texas in the summer months. When the surface temp on the lake is in the 80's, if you lightly put them in the water, they'll never get back down to cooler water, and they die. So you gotta do this torpedo act with the fish to get them back down. Looks heart less, but it's the only way to get them back down deep. We can't even use live-wells because the waters so hot, it kills the fish. Just a thought.
Thank You! Pros do this all the time and people who think their pros bitch about how they release a fish even thou they have no clue!
i think fishing videos are more interesting than hunting videos
Looks like Big Tony at the stern. Best mexican I ever knew in 1991.
Because when the fish are out of the water for a long time, their blood becomes less and less oxygenated. So when you drop them or throw then face first into the water, it rushes water through their gills and gives them a boost of air. Dropping them backwards is actually bad for them.
I've always heard that the gentle method is better for releasing fish. Even says it on the Texas Parks and Wildlife website.
i catch bass like that all the time
i still dont get why he throws the fish out the boat instead of holding them in water like he should???????
Does nobody realize he is releasing them good? He is getting them head first which gives them a jolt of energy to swim off good
"Over a hundred bass and not one under 5lbs". Bullshit. You can easily see 2-5 pounders being caught in this video
I was thinking the same thing
Yeah me too. I don't think the narrator is very educated. Either way, still an unbelievable day.
My Mistake I do Agree with that comment, thanks for explaining!
This dude needs to respect these fish they are creatures not just meat
They both seem succesful.
Tony is the Man!
The reel thing happens on trips where you removed the reels from the rods. In the excitement you don't clamp em down fully. Vibration is an excuse you use when it happens on DVR. (Sign of a seasoned pro)
Every true fishermen knows how to release and handle a fish with care. Zero reason to sling and throw fish like that or hold by jaw line when they are too big.
Looks like I'm going to Mexico
ok im 15 so i dont know much but from the people im thailand that thought me how to use a baitcaster also told me after you get the fish and about to release it you have to hold them in water and let them catch their breath or something them let them go i might be wrong though
Sorry, but the location on the map is incorrect, Mazatlán is located further north, facing the Sea of Cortez. Greetings from Mazatlan, Sinaloa.
I wish I could be more familiar with the spinning reel
I mean I put them back that way anyways but like you said they cant feel it so it technically shouldn't matter then? Plus throwing them puts them deeper in the water which is what you want.
I think it would funny if everyone slapped you in the face for the way you toss fish back! No warning, just "hey, Dennis! SLAP! Hope to see you soon....
salt water fishing!! snapper, barracuda, snook.... but no fresh water fishing
6:36. That happened to me once with a 4lber just when he ate my Ocho Worm. So I threw my reel down then brought him in like I was fly fishing. Luckily it seemed that he had put all his energy into attacking my bait because he had no fight in him whatsoever.
woow nice jumps
Just exactly why won't they go down?
@InfectiousFX Bass lose oxygen fast so when you release them you should set them in the water, grab their tail, and move them left and right until they take off on their own.
@bassallyear because he dosen't have the fish out for long and putting them in nose first from a little bit of height helps them get down and not get air in there belly
what's wrong with putting them back like that way?
i always put the fish with a splash back exept carp
I need to make my own video of my girlfriend catching bigger bass than them all day long here in NH. She even outfished me once :) And I'll be sure to video them on the scale!
VISIT LAKE EL SALTO THE BIG BASS THE BEST PLACE
Bass have no nerves in the edge of the mouth, and throwing the back without allowing them to adjust can cause injury to the air bladder.
thats is.....im going to mexico !
They never said how much that last fished weighed. Guessing around 15 pounds.
I've been to El Salto
all of these monsters aren't gonna make it back home being released like that lol
Damn I wanna go fishing in Mexico
7:38 BOOGER!!!!
Catch & Release.
actually, most fish do not a a nervous system, so they cant fell nothing but a pull in their mouth, but u should always put a fish back in nicley
go to texas we catch those all day long down here
the location on the map they showed is nowhere near where the lake is
you gotta show em some respect
how much did that big bass at the end weigh
That's where i wanna retire. damn
I want to go there. And fish.
6:15 that happened to me with a 5lb small mouth bass
No, he means the manner in which he is doing it....
I would do anything to fish here
Why is he throwing the bass like that back in the water????
Do you even fish? Fish jump to try and shake the hook lose, there are many species of fish that jump without forcing them. And thats why people like fishing for certain fish.
the reel only came off cause thats what he holds to pull the rod up not the rod
Oh Boy! you're a sending people to Acapulco, El Salto is 1000 miles north from your mark, minute 8:54 you have a crankbait... next seconds you have plastic... same fish??? keep it honest please. There´s no need to lie about El Salto IT'S GREAT!!!
You know 25 years of fishing and can't tell that you are catching fish under 5 pounds and those poor Florida strain largemouth everyone of their jaws are dislocated and don't you believe in reviving them before releasing?
The last one like a walleye but it was a bass
@7:18 the guide releases the bass incorrectly
I highly doubt you caught 160 bass over 5 pounds. No way...
That map at the begining its totally wrong, thats not Sinaloa, its the state of Guerrero.
here's a challenge for ya: I've seen bass Gods coming to Europe trying to prove they got it trying to catch asp (aspius aspius): they failed. I'd throw my hat (and heart) at the feet of any fisherman that will come up with a serious method of catching asp. No one ever did it yet. What do you say, pros? :) Best regards ...
Are you Matt Rhodes from Alpine, San Diego?
Which ones came to Europe to catch asp?
@alek zarco 80 oz all together so in pounds would be 80 divded by 16
What kind of bait do they use??
what months are good for fishing with shrimp in saltwater?
You just watched a bass fishing video and you ask that question? Lol 😭
hes using a lightning rod when hes reel comes off berkly ftw
Catching over 100 five pounders in a day, heck, I have caught three or four five pounders in my life
18 pounds 5 ounce lake record??? dude just last month someone caught and 18 pound 80 ounce fish her in cali at my local lake :P
I thougt this wasnt Bill Dance
Releasing a fish like that doesn't really matter! Everyone saying he doesn't know how to release a fish would probably be throwing the fish in the cooler. Not much different than the fish jumping
Oh NO, tossing the bass in that barbarian way........
why are you throwing fish back like that, very poor fish return for a tv guy
80 ounce? ounces only go upto 16
make the nxt bass masters clasic there
CURADOS!!!
I went fishing on this lake yesterday and these two guys was using this shiny fish that's about 5-7 inches and they were catching 5-7lbs bass with all day! The 7lb bass had swallowed the whole fish I was like fuck! My little breams and crappies look more like minnows compared to those fishes. I'm gonna try a jig soon. Tired of feeding bream crickets everyday
Why isn't Dennis Braid using braid?
what rod are you using?
how ? its just my opinion i just dont like it when he throws the big bass
Come anytime in FEB/MARCH WITHOUT A GUIDE.
@paintballingkyle I've never heard of anyone doing that
@xRelyT1 is that why he's paid to fish and you're watching his videos?
Should I throw my bass in harder or just as stupidly?
If you're going to throw them like that atleast have them land mouth-first like when you throw stripers off a bridge or a raised dock. I get that they're bass not trout and you can keep them out of the water / admire them but you wouldn't want someone to toss you in the water on your back or side lol...
I really dont like fishing with those shads...I dont know but i just dont like that plastic stuff that much...I dont catch much fish with it and when i caught fish on it mostly the shad is busted...After 2 pikes i can throw it away
@bassallyear What? They're Bass not Snook.
does he know how to release a bass????
How do you know that? You must be god.
Is that a Shimano Solara?
+Leonardo Fernandes looks like a curado to me
and the guide show him the CORRECT way to release a bass 7:18
