Fishing the World's #1 Lake that You've Probably NEVER Heard of...

  • I first heard of this unbelievable secluded mountain lake about a year ago, with trophy fish specimens that transcend ANYTHING we've ever seen in the sport. I hit the water with Joey the MF'er and Coleslaw with a legitimate chance to land a World Record Bass.

    Would never say where u are bud,but i know! In about 1988-89 my grandpa and i went with a old timer that lived close to the lake.we caught instantly huge dolly's, rainbows and last day caught 4 or 5 lake trout that were over 25lbs.we caught a few huge smallies while trout fishing. They were in like friggin 200ft of water.killer lake though!

    That Dolly Varden was HUGE compared to the ones I used to catch when I was stationed
    on Adak Island up in Alaska. Pretty fish and fun to catch. Not a great reputation. They are known for raiding the beds and feeding on eggs of other trout species.

Really wish more outdoors people would focus on the overall human impact on our natural resources rather than crying about other people fishing their "spot". Sounds like this is a reservoir in Northern California. One google search and two clicks says this might be Pardee reservoir. Good luck!

    • @colobisman6132
      @colobisman6132 2 года назад +2

      @@christophershelton1735 They're very sensitive and should be handled gently. You can't be jerking them from the water and dumping them on the boat deck multiple times. When I catch trout I rarely even handle them because they have a slime coating that protects them and I don't want to disturb that. You can but I just don't. I'll net them and free the hook and release them or just grab the jig or lure I'm using and pop them loose. It's usually a small, barbless hook so it comes out easy.

    People are mixed on this. I fished a lake in the early 90's that ,when conditions were right, often produced 50 fish per person with 5 and 6's common daily. I had caught two bass over 8 and my wife had caught one monster bass that I thought could have beat the current lake record of 9 plus #'s. I let it go as I do with all others. At that point the lake had been open for about 10 yrs to the public. Round about yr 2000 there was a write up in a VA fishing magazine saying it was one of the best lakes in the USA for large mouth. Never did it say to respect the lake...No one did either. Infact people would keep bass in their live wells to take home and release in THEIR lakes.The lake was flooded with bass boats every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We had been gas engine free from the start. Even though they don't run they still pollute the water. Plus the lake could not hold the traffic. It took 10yrs to recover the added foot traffic on the lake and property. There was zero profit made by the influx of people. This was not lake Kerr or Gaston but a small community reservoir.To this day the lake has not recovered to the point that it is considered good fishing. Please don't come now, as we are allowing the lake to rest. Instead you could build your own local lake and when you can respect your lake you are welcome back to visit.

    I can't believe this dude wanted that jighead and little swimbait bad enough to touch that deer corpse with his bare hands 🤮
    I'd pay you 20 bucks to not have to touch that nastiness, and if I really wanted my bait back I'd at least try with some pliers first.
