I came across a hydrilla clump years ago out off the weed line maybe 15 yards and caught 16 of the biggest crappies of my life. That one clump was one packed hotel. Thanks for explaining how and why you fish. Knowledge is the best.

You know the fish are HUNGRY when they smack every color you throw at them like this! 🎣
Quick tip: They make a bottle of solution you add to your live well; after you catch a fish just dunk it in there for 15 seconds. The solution coats the fish and prevents/clears up skin conditions like that one. See it a lot with warm water fish 🤙tight lines

What was the plastic bait you were throwing when you converted to top hooking it? I think shad baits do well in most situations. That appears to be about 7” and weighted. Would to purchase a few in different shad colors.
Im pretty sure its either osprey line thru swim-bait or smash tech line thru those are the only really two that look like that bait but I know its either one but Im pretty sure its a osprey tho hope thats helps

Some of the bass crowd are as nutty as the fly guy crowd that we have out here. Find the fish, & present a decent bait correctly. That's 99% of it. If the bass doesn't notice 6 hooks & 30lb braid, its not gonna care that your uncle hand painted it

Hey man, really enjoy your videos! My interest in big swimbaits/glide baits has definitely been peaked but I was wondering if there is a reason you use such heavy equipment for these applications. Could you get by on more of a medium-heavy? Thanks again for the great videos and hope to hear back from you!
short answer? no. not unless it’s a medium heavy specifically designed to throw baits with those kind of weights. if you’re throwing sub 2oz baits, you could get by on standard flipping or frogging gear. a lot of those big swimbaits weigh anywhere between 2oz and 10oz. and then when you’re throwing big soft baits with stout hooks, like the owner beast 6/0, 8/0, 10/0, 12/0, etc, you need a rod that has enough back bone to drive those hooks home and keep them pinned. you’re not going to get that kind of penetration with a regular MH rod.

I recently got into big swimbaits , two months in now got a couple bigs on the s waver but my question is do you prefer flourocarbon? Or braid to leader for big baits ? I’m running braid to leader at the moment
The way I run my baits is braid with carbon leader 12inch IMO......
That's just how I run my baits, I've had better luck with line concealment if I use carbon leaders where I fish is all

Hey bro, how to you set your drag? I hear different guys say different things. Oliver Ngy says crank em all the way down when fishing big glides, so thats what I've been doing. With a 30# drag on my Tatula 300's I've yet to catch one big enough to challenge it, and I just crank em to the boat. I caught a 24 inch 7 1/2 lb spot in Arkansas this spring and horses it in. I don't know how big of a fish it would take before I'd need to use drag?

So should I use a snap swivel on flow glider 130 for it to swim right all the time? Seems only swims right when swam thru current. 6th sense never answered my email. Well I don’t think they answered it. Great company just want to know how to tune or what to use or do so it swims right. Line, no/yes on swivel, anything that helps?
