I met a lady at a women's conference a few weeks ago, she's in her 50s and just graduated as a doctor. You can do anything you set your heart to. Age is just a number. I've just turned 30 too and changing career

Crystal Bailey Hey crystal :) I just started MD this year at age 27 and couldn’t be happier about it. I also have a channel if that’s something you’re interested in watching :)

"I don't think you ever do stop doubting yourself, but I think you learn to believe in yourself more to counteract that"
woah, I didn't know how much I needed to hear that! I've been in a total slump recently because I'm so afraid of putting my hopes and dreams on the line and actually trying to get into med when I don't feel like I'm "good enough". Trying to break through the mindset of 'if you don't try you won't be disappointed when you fail' has been really hard. It can be really difficult working towards something that seems so unreachable, whilst watching what seems to be everyone else around me feeling super confident. It's reassuring to know I'm not alone and that it's worth giving it my all, even if I doubt myself.
Thank you for your videos, I've found them super interesting and helpful. Happy birthday and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying Sydney :)

Hi Luke, I'm so glad to hear my videos have been helping you to get through that self-doubting mindset we're all so familiar with! Good-luck with your journey and I hope it all works out for you :)

Hi Tess, Great to read your comments and your videos are inspiring. Like you I am a Physio and have been for many years. Finally at the grand age of 56 have decided life is too short and returning this year to Grad Med.. A big challenge with many people saying 'why?' and 'at your age'....but we are here once and once only and with my family all grown up and having had a wonderful career in professional sport and private practice, I thought well why not!!...The school has been encouraging and don't see its an issue so I am so looking forward to a later life challenge again!..Wish me luck...

hey ive been thinking of doing physio because i feel it would be really satisfying and think it'd be something im interested in everyday. I've been wondering however how much someone in private practice (starting their own company) could earn. Would you know the answer to this?

This is a fantastic insight. I’m back at uni studying biomed with the intention of taking the GAMSTAT and hopefully doing med. although I am now 30, it still feels like I’m a big kid in pursuit of another challenge. age is just a number!

Thanks for the videos Tess. I’ve just turned 29 and have been working as a civil engineer the past few years. I’m currently in the process of deciding the direction I want to go with my career and med is on the cards. Your videos are providing more clarity around what’s involved and encouraging that it’s not too late! Today I’ve decided to give the GAMSAT a go in March! I’ve probably left study too late (only 3 months) but will be good to experience one as I hear it’s quite common to sit a couple of times. Anyway - thank you!

Raj Naveen no you’re not dreaming... I was relentless at trying to get a place and it took me 2 years from 54 to convince them. However I eventually found the right people who embraced the other things as a mature adult, I could bring to the course and I start this year.. just keep going if your heart and passion is there you can succeed. Best of luck

@@mastermindnaveen Actually 57 today... happy birthday to me! and yes it took two years but my family are all grown up, I have so much support and I am extremely young at heart so for me age is just something that is the preverbial number. Means nothing to me!...Okay I wont be in a position to head off into a specialist training programme long term as time will be against me, however I will see where it takes me and 1. enjoy the train ride of being a student again!. 2. fulfil my dreams.. One time living and I am not one for wasting....Best of luck my friend.

Do you do much chemistry or physics in medical school? In other words, did they expand on part 3 of the GAMSAT during med school? Thanks x
