In this video I make a techno track from scratch using only Elektron Syntakt. I use many different techniques and explain my workflow in all the details. You can learn how I make techno and hopefully benefit from watching this video by learning a few new things.
If you join my Patreon you'll get access to the project "Ihor Collection for Syntakt" and will be able to try it out on your own Syntakt!

🌍 Hello World! My name is Ihor.
This is my channel where I share my experiences, ideas, reviews and tutorials related to Electronic Music Production. I focus mostly on Techno and House music. In my Studio on my Music Production Desk you will find a variety of different gear like: digital and analog synth, eurorack modular, drum machine, sampler, effect, mixer, guitar pedal, MIDI controller. Also software: DAW, Ableton, VST, plugins.
I am myself an engineer and I am quite obsessed with the Music Technology and Sound Design. I like making music without a computer. I like playing Electronic Music Live with my Minimal Dawless Setup. I love Eurorack Modular Techno and always keen to talk about the modular workflow.
I strongly believe that nothing can be better than a good Dawless Techno Jam!
I watched all the Techno Tutorials on RUclips! (I think)
📺 Thanks for watching! And have fun!
✌️ Peace.

Fun fact. 133bpm is the classic techno bpm used on many classic early 90s Detroit artists. Why? Because that’s the speed you need to cut a track to vinyl if you wish to make an endless playing lock groove loop. Accidental bonus also if you are a maniac DJ like Jeff Mills back in the day, if your records skip while mixing it won’t knock your kick drums too out of sync!
Interesting, I never knew that. Pretty cool
....Detroit Techno, Rotterdam Techno, Man Parrish, Steve silk Hurley, Juan Atkins and many others that have contributed to this genre...imo techno should be about bringing in new experimental sounds that takes people on a musical journey...if it's 133 BPM, change it, bring the journey to a different level...
Peace out 💕
@@jonnyd4nger I like to play melodic techno at 127 bpm. It just makes it vibe more, IMO. It's a more sustainable tempo for dancing as well. A lot of purists would scoff at that, as well as say that melodic techno is basically just trance, but I don't care. It sounds good to me.
@@dnbsoldier7259 As long as youre enjoying it m8 😁
Does it work on 45rpm vinyl?
Soooo clean video for understanding that piece of gear! We should populate this treasure channel. Well done Ihor!
Let's fill the comment section with little Ihors.
Easily the best showcase I've seen on this. I know I'm late to the party but I'm giving some serious consideration to getting one. Been using the Maschine + for a while. It's fun but I find myself taking a route that the NI sound packs take me. And it's not authentic, to me at least. You made the syntakt sound great. Fair play.
They better pay you to do this vid because this is perf advertising. Right up your alley it seems
No other video out there has made me want a Syntakt as much as this one has. Amazing, thorough video Ihor. Loving the bassface at 31:06
I was thinking the same! He made a face. 🙌
This is the Syntakt masterclass I was looking for. You’re awesome, Ihor. Thank you.
this video is a master class. your content just gets better and better sir
Thank you good sir!
I learn so much from this channel even though I don’t make techno!! It’s all very clear. Also yes to more syntakt!

Fantastic tutorial! You're so bringing it to the point, love this! 🤩 Animating the stereo spread of the delay is a fantastic modulation.
Thanks for feedback! ✌️
Sounds very Nice ❤
Thank you for the knowledge. It was a pleasure to see and hear every step what you modify to achieve the desired sound.
Thank you!
I like to see people explain / make music from hardware, it's fundamental, and we can get inspiration to apply it on any daw
Outstanding
Sounds great Ihor, love the style. Not owning a syntakt but still enough good ideas to work with.
Thank you Niek!

Cool 🕺 Think it will be my next Elektron after digitone 😄. So much sound designing features, wow.
Thanks to your video, I understand that i have to put a low pass filter on my bass sounds to not cover the sound of my kick ! thanks for this, and for the content ! very clear, more syntakt vids please ;)
A syntakt lover
Wow thanks so much Ihor, this is simply my favorite track from scratch for the Syntakt that I have seen. Gonna try and follow it. Please. Please do another track like this!

How you enjoying the Syntakt just got mine today.. what do you love about it .
Huge thanks man it helped me a lot to understand how to use the Syntakt!
I m playing techno also and I can say you are making good one 👊🏼
Thank you Marc! Very kind words ❤️
How you enjoying the Syntakt just got mine today.. what do you love about it .
Wow, so much in such a small box!
Very nice, I don't even have a Syntakt or Electron device, but I just enjoy watching the simplicity of creating and performing Techno on this machine. I might have to consider a Syntakt as a sound source.
You have me falling in love with how you play techno. Do you find there is so much space to explore by ourself with techno, free from the ego and the hype and only immersed in our spirit and a connection to our inner existence? I love how we can share our journey these days. I grew up in the bush in the 90's listening to AFX and only being able to dream about how it was created. Thanks very much for your insight, and inspiration.
Thx you! view in repeat
Very nice
Hi Ihor ! Always a pleasure to watch your videos ! Would love if you could take a time to make one with the analog heat ;)
Love my Syntakt. This is a great video. Would love a video just on getting some rumbles out of this.
Noted!
Syntakt coming this week. I’m super excited. I’m gonna copy this tutorial for myself first of all a) to learn the device and b) to create a banging techno track!
Nice work. Thanks so much!
Great! Hope it will be helpful!
My Syntakt just arrived today! Thanks so much for the video!!!!
How you enjoying the Syntakt just got mine today.. what do you love about it .
Great video)) thx 😊
this ist great :)
Just got a Syntakt. This was the best jump start video ever right here, thank you Ihor!
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
Very cool video! Learned a lot. I need to admit that my biggest problem with Techno on Syntakt was rumble, but you pointed me to a thing that is now so obvious, but I could not see it before - smart programming of kick/bass sounds. Really appreciate it! 🖤
Glad it was helpful!
You are such an inspirational teacher. 👍
Thank you! Great feedback!
This video decided that the Syntakt was for me. And after two days of owning the Syntakt, I've completed your tutorial. Thank you so much, my version of your jam is the most polished tune I've made after coming from Circuit Tracks, Ployend Tracker and Maschine MK3.
You're a natural teacher. Great work sir!
Hi Sean! I appreciate your feedback! Very pleased to be a teacher!
Thanks mate great video 🎉
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cool sounds! Peace...
thanks a lot man! lots of insights!! (:
techno masterclass right here!
Pro track on the takt!
Thanks
What a legend Ihor. Maybe ambient from scratch video with syntakt in the future? great work 5/5
Noted! Thanks for feedback! Do you have any ambient tracks to recommend as an inspiration? Would much appreciate it! ✌️
@@IhorMedia jon gaiser 😂💪🤣
@@IhorMedia I think Syntakt could perform and generate really good spacey ambient vibes, theres lot of youtube mixes with that genre when typing in Space Ambient music. Also great youtube channel called substan who creates lot of ambient music with Elektron gear, highly recommend to check the channel out
Thank you! Gonna explore that! I was actually thinking about this 😉
Игорь, спасибо за твои видео. Буквально в каждом джеме использую какие-то из твоих фишек. Крутой ты чувак)
Спасибо!
Excellent track and very informative video! I lost it when you saved at 29 minutes ;) A wise man learns from previous failures.
A wise man learns, but his fingers sometimes just randomly hit that FUNC + NO
Отлично, продолжай в том же духе, с тем же темпом)
it's canon to explain so simply. she makes me want this machine so much. I strongly hesitate between a groovebox roland tr8s + microfreak or elektron digitak!
This is LIVE JAMMING ❤❤❤
