You will compromise the digestion system of the chicks. Chicks eat special feeds to prepare and strengthen digestion system to enable the chicks be ready to eat all kind of feeds.

Yes please they are. In fact mortality rate is lowered when using hydroponic fodder.
You can feed them once every day.

If your experiment with 20 birds was successful why would more birds fail. The results should be the same.

For layers the much you can go is 30%. Indeginous chicken can be given above 30%.
