Oh, you gotta check System of a down - Chop Suey, and System of a down Aerials. More interesting from a singers standpoint. Such great harmonies. And I think more interesting songwriting, less goofy, still extremely creative and unique. I wouldn't have recommended this one first.

I like your interpretation of what the changes in the song represent. Our leaders would rather have us believe that everything is groovy and that we're all vibing to the beat of our simple lives. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, politics and life for many people are utter chaos. If people could express their opinions and discuss politics the same, respectful way we share our interpretation of music, we wouldn't be so hostile towards people who disagree with us. Afterall, politics are just differences in opinion. Most of us want the same results. We just disagree on the best way to achieve those results.
I share your view that this song is about the message and that the musical choices were made to give emphasis to the message. It's not a song I keep on my fav playlist of soad. I think you'll enjoy a lot more songs like "Question!", "Spiders" or "Aerials"
I think Daron *has* technique. You can definitely see it in some of their other songs where his harmonies with Serj are more... beautiful? This one is more about getting that rage, that betrayal to the forefront. I don't believe you're reading too much into the song. My understanding is it's very much a pointed discussion of how the "powers that be" are telling you to look over here, while they commit attrocities in the name of "freedom".
You nailed the meaning of the song. Basically, while we're inside having a good time at the party. Just right outside of the party, there's a warzone and people are dying.
I watch alot of reactions and I've only seen one person get the chorus. In the USA the military uses lots of promises when recruiting cadets. The party, you'll have a great time you might get stationed in Hawaii next thing you're in a desert blowing up the sunshine.
I think BYOB is an alright representation of the band, but not necessarily the best representation of Serj. I've always been a fan of their song Forest, though everyone probably wants to see you react to Aerials. Personally, I would love to see you do something by Protest the Hero. They're one of my favourites and I think you can really hear Rody grow as a vocalist between albums
It's gotta be "Spiders" for me. That one was my first SOAD song. Or "Hypnotize." No.....DEFINITELY "Hypnotize." Because holy shit those melodies with Daryn. Think I spelled the name right. My brain is broken.
My ex-gf found 'em. Liked 'em. Now: we used to carry around lots of folks in our car. (It was their album toxicity) Soon was named: "That awful music!". HAHA! Many years later: I had to change trains on the main railroad junction in Hamburg, coming back from work. The junction slowly became crowded by mostly dark-cladden younger folks. People where talking in english, in spanish, in ??? A guy (speaking spanish, before) asked me: "How do we get to Itzehoe?" It was early august. W:O:A (Wacken open air) was arond the corner!! I invited them to join me on my ride to Pinneberg. Half an hour on the train. We talked: "And you guys have come up all the way from Spain?" "Nope! Me, and this guy over there (pointing at one of his friends) are from Mexico. The other 3 are from Honduras." Sheeech! We talked about that I was familiar with Marcela Bovio. We talked about SOAD. Like they lived in a village, next to mine. Talking political statements, I wanna ask you to listen to a song of old, sunshine: Iron Butterfly. Slower than guns. Pls mind the time, this song was released. How political hard rock music always was. I,myself, got introduced to hard rock with "Into The Void" by Black Sabbath at the age of 15. SciFi fan, since I was 14: perfect for me! Great message! There is actually a lot of political statements from that time: the album Salisbury from Uriah Heep. (Even: Come away, Melinda, from their 1st album Very heavy, very humble) as well as Gamma Ray from the german band Birthcontrol. Pls add these songs to your bucket list. They will make sense, when you listen to them, thinking of then they where released. The war in "Nam" was not over, yet. It was a big deal for many bands. Greetings from the far north of Germany!
Yeah for sure I understand there is a really important message which is why I’ll be returning to the band even though this song wasn’t really my cup of tea. Thanks for watching my dude 😊
Got it in one, the more chaotic part is the wake up message Chop Suey, Toxicity or Aerials is another good listen Every S.O.A.D song sounds different from the previous one
I'm a simple man, I see SoaD and I hit like before the reaction even starts. I know it's going to be good. I had the pleasure of seeing SoaD with Slipknot back in 2000/2001. Was right up front and center for SoaD.
So, I know at this point you must have a flood of recommendations, but after watching this video I'll toss my hat in and say I think you'd be interested in the band Ashenspire. They are a progressive/black metal group from Glasgow and are overtly political in themes. Their last album "Hostile Architecture" was a very highly acclaimed album in the metal community despite being a relatively unknown band at the time, focusing heavily on the idea that capitalism sustains itself on cruelty to the poor, misogyny, drug dependency, liberal complacency, and the threat of violence against anyone who criticizes it. So, if you are not looking to discuss political content on a video, then this might not be the best band to make a video about. However, I still think you should give "The Law of Asbestos" a shot and the reason is vocalist Alasdair Dunn's performance embodies the themes so well. Dunn has a classic hardcore punk manic belt as he sings from the perspective of a homeless person, simply looking for basic shelter but constantly running into cruelly designed spaces intended to cause the most amount of discomfort. The lyrics themselves are very poetic which is nice considering its overt political tones and even the moments that are on the nose are so pointed. I think you'd enjoy the performance.
Thanks for this Mikey! I will definitely check it out. I hope this is something really interesting in the relationship between rock and metal music and politics in general. There’s also super interesting. Thank you my dude 😊
Good and honest reaction! SOAD is a hard to put a label on, they use so many influences interior music. I mostly know them from their popular songs (never bothered to listen to their albums) and I can say that there are better songs to hear Sarjs excellent vocal qualities. This is a good song but lacks a bit for a vocal analysis (I think).
If you’d like to hear a couple unique and slightly jarring vocalists try out Dead Kennedys and Rancid. American punk can have some very interesting singers. Checkout “Moon Over Marin” by Dead Kennedys and “1998” by Rancid If you want to hear some of the most beautiful punk vocals please listen to Bad Religion. Almost all their songs are melodically captivating, even the simple ones. Try “Do What You Want” and “Flat Earth Society”. Both songs combined clock in under 3 minutes.
oh wow feeling like i was 17 for 21 years when system of a down where really big and wie listened all the time to them with a lot of beer, caipirinias or whiskey cola. Thanks for this flashback to my teen period in my live. Have to listen t them again. because they are fucking fun.
Serj Tankian has his own channel where he schares many differents musics of his own. His voice is one of my prefered one in the wolrd (and I'm not young, I've heard many ones ^^) Thanks for digging in this world
2:47 Soooooooooo... oddly enough SOAD does, in fact, have a song titled "Fuck the System," which contains the notable lyrics "fuck the system, fuck the system." And I kinda love it! It's so fun. 😬
That video was filmed in Clifton’s cafeteria In Los Angeles- a really good night out- 3 levels of music, swing dancing on the top floor and free to get in! Great reaction- was wondering when you’d get around to Serj and the boys
@@SoulSingerDiscovers Awesome! Do you plan on doing any Alice In Chains or Soundgarden? I think you’d really appreciate the vocals (plus they ‘kin rule!) if you don’t know them already. Really enjoying your journey so far, regardless!
If I could make a suggestion regarding topics no one else will touch, band Bloodywood and the song Dana Dan. Very very touchy subject, but amazing song.
Thanks for reacting to this; you're right, I believe, how it has a totally annoying "everybody..." but that's the mainstream music/voices for you of todays society. Blend, boring - sounds terrible! lol Please try for example "Toxicity" "Chop suey". Serje has an amazing voice; he can sing all sorts if genres. Just found your channel today. Subscribed and looking forward to hear from you. Saludos desde Valencia España ✌️
Classic club track. Can't go wrong with it to get a feel for SoaD. Aaaand, an awesome assessment of what they are trying to do with the poppy sound and heavy sound. Serj is the main singer Dar9n isn't the best singer, and IMHO, when they let him write and sing songs, they are not thier best material. When the main volume of singing is Serj, that's thier greatest work.
If you haven't yet, I would highly recommend adding Electric Callboy to your lists of bands to react to. I would suggest Hypa Hypa, We Got The Moves, or Pump It, as these are the big hitters of thierw, and give a great feel of what they are about.
Really enjoyed the video, and just subbed! 😁👍 Like some other comments said, this song doesn’t showcase much of Serj’s singing abilities; his range is insane, but the message behind the song is very important, so it’s great that it became as popular as it is. The juxtaposition of the poppy chorus and the chaotic sharp turns in the rest of the song was definitely intentional for the message. Don’t feel bad for not liking the song overall, it’s very jarring and took me a few listens for it to grow on me. Awesome you took a peek at the lyrics and understood they were saying more than just “stick it to the man”, though Jack Black is America’s sweetheart 😂 I was wondering if you could do a “Soul Singer Discovers” video for Insane Clown Posse. With your background, I think one of the best songs of theirs to start with would be “Homies” (preferably the uncensored music video). It’s pretty melodic and has some singing in the chorus. The vibe of it is similar to the “feel good” portion of this track. Can’t wait to check out more of your videos 🔥🤘🤘🔥
Oh I haven’t been suggested them yet, Ill put that on my list! Thank you so much for subbing! I really appreciate it. 😊 Jack Black must be protected at all costs! Definitely returning to System at some point though, I think there’s just loads to discover and I really enjoy Serj’s voice. Let me know what you think, and if you remember any other bands you think should be a discover! 😊🌸
You should absolutely listen to more SOAD songs, there's so much in their catalogue that is unique and strikingly beautiful. I'd recommend checking more of their hits as well as deep cuts to get a fuller sense of their depth. BYOB is a very well written song, not just because of its political commentary, but because of it's structure, I think it does a perfect job at mixing the heavier portions of the track with the more pop sounding chorus, it's not easy to pull off that contrast.
Oh I definitely will be returning! I completely agree the song is important and well written, I guess I am a bit of a sucker for more melodies I enjoy but I will be back to SOAD for more even if I never find something I really life as they are an amazing band! 😊
You're one of the few I have subscribed to on the first listen. I am with you on your thoughts that people should listen, whether they like the music or not.
Totally agree. This song was one of the first I'd heard from them and it (unfairly) negatively effected my veiw of the band for years. Also, what government isn't, essentially, fascist? Wait, wait! Don't shoot. I'm just askin' questions here.
Kenneth! We have a lot in common you and I. I think this negatively effected my view of them, and I’ll need to go back again….but all government. Kenneth started it!!! I just agreed 😂😂
SOAD has two singers. Serj is the main though. You want wo hear MAD harmonies, check out "Hypnotize." Just as political, but the tune is beautiful, and the melodies. The melodies are of Alice in Chains qualities. That is high praise. Hairs standing on ends.
Sending in the poor to fight isn't a political thing... it's a historical one. The poor did the bidding of the wealthy land owners. It's been that way for thousands and thousands of years unfortunately.
Oh my dude! I wish this was something I didn’t understand. Unfortunately being Scottish, the English have done everything from sending poor Scots to the frontlines of war, to ethnically cleansing us and burning are villages to the ground. Personally I view it as political and historical but we’re still fighting for independence so it definitely feels more modern to me 😤😔
@Melisa Kelly in ya'lls case.. ya the Scots got shafted hard by the British! And I fully agree that as this point it is a political thing. And I hope yall can finally get your independence finally!
"Im a bitter working class Scottish woman" i choke on coffee and it flys out my nose im a bitter worki g class guy for belfast noth of ireland (bit of politics there hehe)
You totally got it about the "party" part, that you did not like. Totally intentional. The song is about the Iraq war. The "party in the desert" stands for the picture that the government drew about the war. The American forces were so much better technically equipped, that the most casualties of them were friendly fire due to communication problems, and at times the biggest problem was, that they ran out of gas, because their tanks were faster, than their support, so that they had to buy gas regularly at Iraqi gas stations (dafuq???). Still, of course, they only send the poor, like in every war, and no war is fun for those, who are sent, and for the Iraqi for sure even less. So yes, this is an anti-war song that especially aims at the American war propaganda of that time with darkest sarkasm. I guess, you intuitively got the intention. Their discography is very short, so you will probably like everything of them, if you already got the good parts in this song. They were extremely successful for a good reason. They are very original and unique, also with implementing parts of Armenian musical elements, not that much in this song, but in others for sure. (Speaking of interesting scales and phrasing, that might grab your attention positively, I guess). They were always very clear about their heritage in a kind of proud way and integrated parts of Armenian music, and so, it is not hard to understand, how their feelings about the American military interventions and their intentions in the Middle East were (and are) ... Personally, I love, when people use arts to express how they feel about things and are not shy to talk about politics, even if their opinion is not popular. And they don't give a shit about how this affects their popularity and possibly even their income. I think, they were/are a great band. The song is maybe not the best to get their style, but for sure it had an impact at it's time and was important. And is probably timeless enough to be understood also 25 yrs later. I suggest "Aearials" as your next try on this band. I have the feelings that you love it. Best regards. This was a fun reaction, my dudette!
Hey Martin!! Yeah it’s a really complex one. Like a didnt musically enjoy parts but because I now know the message I’m like, it doesn’t matter we should still all listen. I do love that they are very proud of their Armenian heritage and incorporate it into their music and I’m looking forward to hearing it more as I do love a lot of the modes that are used in that type of music. I avoid being political here because I know I will not have enough time in the edit 😂 thank you again for a great comment. Glad you enjoyed it my dude 💪🌸
@@SoulSingerDiscovers 😎 I hear you about the politics. I am old and mental enough to not care about editing my comments in this regard. As a huge SOAD fan i get a bit worried when B.Y.O.B is someones first introduction to the band since its so jarring. Sadly i rarely se someone reacting to songs like Forest, Science or Deer Dance witch in my mind is their best work both in terms of lyrics and instrumentals.
Fear not, I will be returning to them soon, as I know that there is a huge back to catalogue and I don’t wanna judge them based purely on this song. Thanks for watching my dude 😊
For me, the "pop-ish" section is meant to be sarcastic.. I had a similar reaction to the song when I first heard it, I'm a pretty big fan of the band and I was just like, why are they doing thaatt?!?! . i think "the party" they're referring to is war.. governments' willingness to go to war, and kinda being like, don't worry, it's fine, just keep buying things and pay no mind we're all having a goood tiimme hahah.. kinda thing... The song Ghosts is a good song to really hear their vocal capabilities. Soldier side is another song of theirs that I really like. :D
Yeah, I feel like it’s one of those moments where I’m not feeling the music for such a really important reason. I did listen to a couple more times and it did grow on me, but more than that. I think it’s just a really fantastic song. I’ll check that out. Thank you so much my dude. 😊

nice reaction to a band that had some important messages at that point in time. Another band that I listened a lot to (and saw live 1985) was your own Scottish Prog Masters Marillion. Here is a nice one from 1984 "Fugazi" (which by the way comes from the US slang "Fucked up") ruclips.net/video/1QWvbpc3C-Q/видео.html
Serj is an amazing singer - Darin, yeah I am not much a fan at least compared to Serj. I believe you are right about the "pop" part. I love that its such jarring changes, really gets your attention.
Yeah. Whoever labelled SOAD as Heavy Metal and - oh the boundless skies - Thrash Metal did not have any idea as to what they were taking about. Melisa, I highly recommend you to watch a series called "A Rough Guide to Metal Subgenres" by pergproductions here on RUclips. A couple of those videos have gove unavailable in my country since then, but maybe you will be more lucky. Can not give you a direct link because of that =( But those should give you some 'Metal subgenres and why would you ever care about them' 101 and I think that you will be able to appreciate the humor.
System is a very politically motivated band, however they are also equally sarcastic. I remember Serj in and interview when the reporter asked about the new album he said there's a great tune about pajamas on it...
I think in a waythere is a technique in his screaming . He must be able to do it consistently without losing his voice when touring. I have no idea what that technique might be, but it can't be just reckless screaming.
Oh yeah, it’s completely possible to scream consistently and with good technique. I’m still working at myself if I’m completely honest. Thank you so much for watching. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. 😊
Hey! Great video and reaction! For more metal stuff, I would totally recommend checking out the newest Darko US live session to hear their vocalist Tom Barber in the studio. His voice is one of the most powerful and unique ones in metal, in my opinion. Darko is one of the hottest bands in Deathcore right now; I'd say they're pushing metal to its limits! Would highly highly recommend checking it out! Their music videos are very spooky, so maybe hear them live first lmao
You might like the song Ariels better: ruclips.net/video/L-iepu3EtyE/видео.html It still maintains the tonality / timbre of the vocalist, but is less jarring rhythmically.
For me this is post peak System. The first three albums are absolute monsters. Try Sugar or Spiders off the first album for them at their most sonically brutal. Then maybe Ariels and Toxicity from the second album. Steal This was a bit of a throw away album but there's some gems on there.
It's probably my favourite song from SOTD. You definitely targeted their persuasion of musical process to impact. I basically got into metal because it represented the best musical impact with message. Hard rock/ Metal bands have always been labled as a certain topic to not favour in music...so the message is not delivered to the mass listeners. Black Sabbath is a classic example!... probably the first Hardrock/Metal band to be labelled "Taboo" because of their bands label which they had taken on cos of seeing Boris Carlof movie...and saw crowds of people drawn to an event that scared the shit of them...and they thought...well...that's a winner..let's do that. The song Black Sabbath was written on an event that a band member experienced and put that to music. They also wrote songs about the Vietnam war ( Funeral Fire, Warpigs) and songs questions about the structure of the direction of society ( Spiral Architect) and Spirital subjects (National Acrobat) and many more song subjects. All this was lost to the masses because who controlled airplay and famdom knew this band was asking questions of truth...but the Money Wrought makers of this society dosn't want that to come to light!.
Rock is always personal feelings like pain and/or critic against a particular social problem or against the system. What about ONE by Metallica or Why not reacting to DADDY by Korn.
Wow the Scottish accent is really amazing i can listen to you all day Mel Gibson should have take more lessons he didnt make it justice but braveheart was still a great movie. Yeah System of a down is a strange band cant decide if i like them or not heard some songs i liked bought two albums, but they was not so good maybe i bought wrong albums i dont know
I think a band should be authentic. If that means being political, then be political. If that is who they are and that is what comes out through their art authentically, then it is what it is. They should be as true and authentic to themselves and what they are trying to say with their art as possible. I don't have to like it, I don't have to agree with it, but if I can tell they are being authentic, I will most of the time respect it. There are always exceptions and I don't need to get into them, but they do exist where I just go, no thank you, you can stay in whatever hole you were in. In general though I am fine with a band being authentically them.
Serj has a fantastic voice, you barely get a glimpse of it on this song.

It's gotta be "Spiders" for me. That one was my first SOAD song. Or "Hypnotize." No.....DEFINITELY "Hypnotize." Because holy shit those melodies with Daryn. Think I spelled the name right. My brain is broken.
@@SoulSingerDiscovers "Forest" is the BEST!!
Hello to my fellow Forest appreciator.
Hey my beautiful sister. I celebrated 2 years clean and sober on Monday. That sounds like me before my first cigarette and my first cup of coffee.
Aw it made me laugh so much! It is an accurate representation of morning Melisa 😂
Really loving your channel so far. New here, but keep up the great work and keep being YOU.
Thank you Jarrod! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the channel. I’m having a blast learning new things 😊💪
It's an anti-war song - BYOB means Bring Your Own Bombs
Excellent work. This was great.
Thank you again my dude 😊❤️
Metal with political lyrics, grindcore, thrash and crossover thrash , are my favorite types of metal. (for instance ...Nuclear Assault - Brainwashed)
A guy (speaking spanish, before) asked me: "How do we get to Itzehoe?"
It was early august.
Talking political statements, I wanna ask you to listen to a song of old, sunshine:
Iron Butterfly.
You are very funny! I didnt even start the reaction part, and you had me rolling.. "DO YOU LIKE RAP MUSIC?!"
And my only hope is at least one person finds me funny and it’s not my mum 😆
Toxicity and Aerials re great tracks to check out, im sure you'd love them. Another fab video. you're fast becoming my fave music reactor xx
Yeah I am definitely returning to SOAD. I think I’ll go for Aerials next time round. Thank you my dude I really appreciate it 😊🌸
You won't regret it!
You don't have to like System of a Down as long as you recognize the importance and that there's a message.
Yeah for sure I understand there is a really important message which is why I’ll be returning to the band even though this song wasn’t really my cup of tea. Thanks for watching my dude 😊
Got it in one, the more chaotic part is the wake up message
Chop Suey, Toxicity or Aerials is another good listen
Every S.O.A.D song sounds different from the previous one
People need to wake up and realise both sides of politics are corrupt.
Their transitions are so smooth
I'm a simple man, I see SoaD and I hit like before the reaction even starts. I know it's going to be good. I had the pleasure of seeing SoaD with Slipknot back in 2000/2001. Was right up front and center for SoaD.
Also, I've always wanted a full length song in the style of the "Everybody's going to the party have a real good time" section. It's such a groove.
Thanks for watching my dude! Returning to System to do some more digging soon! 😊
Perfectly imperfect. =)
This girl is cool and funny. Wishing you RUclips success
Thank you my dude 😊
You're right about intentionally throwing out the technique on purpose. Daron's trying to sound like an unhinged maniac, not a singer
I would argue that System Of A Down was the last great Punk band to get radio play. 10/10 :D
Yeah it was a hard one to get into. Took me a while. But definitely gonna do more SOAD as I don’t think this one was for me 😆
@@SoulSingerDiscovers Next Aerials plis.
My faves are Sugar, Bounce, Toxicity, Chop Suey, and of course Aerials.
If you’d like to hear a couple unique and slightly jarring vocalists try out Dead Kennedys and Rancid.
American punk can have some very interesting singers.
Checkout “Moon Over Marin” by Dead Kennedys and “1998” by Rancid
If you want to hear some of the most beautiful punk vocals please listen to Bad Religion.
You’re very welcome my dude 😊🌸
Atwa by System of a Down is amazing
Serj Tankian has his own channel where he schares many differents musics of his own. His voice is one of my prefered one in the wolrd (and I'm not young, I've heard many ones ^^)
Thanks for digging in this world
Aw cool! I’ll check it out. I’m looking forward to doing more SOAD too. Thanks for watching my dude 😊🌸
2:47 Soooooooooo... oddly enough SOAD does, in fact, have a song titled "Fuck the System," which contains the notable lyrics "fuck the system, fuck the system." And I kinda love it! It's so fun. 😬
I’ll check it out! I’m not above it 😂 thank you for the suggestion Jason 😊💪
That video was filmed in Clifton’s cafeteria In Los Angeles- a really good night out- 3 levels of music, swing dancing on the top floor and free to get in! Great reaction- was wondering when you’d get around to Serj and the boys
Thanks Anthony! Planning on going back to do more 😊
@@SoulSingerDiscovers Awesome! Do you plan on doing any Alice In Chains or Soundgarden? I think you’d really appreciate the vocals (plus they ‘kin rule!) if you don’t know them already. Really enjoying your journey so far, regardless!
My favorite album is the first one. It's just so raw, crazy, interesting and funny. It's a masterpiece.
Please do Aerials I love his voice in this one. Toxicity is awesome also.
2:41 - They literally have a song called “Fuck The System” too. 😂
Aw! I didn’t know ahah! :)
Blend, boring - sounds terrible! lol
Please try for example "Toxicity" "Chop suey".
Serje has an amazing voice; he can sing all sorts if genres.
Just found your channel today. Subscribed and looking forward to hear from you.
Saludos desde Valencia España ✌️
I will definitely return to do more SOAD. Thanks for watching my dude, and I’m glad you enjoyed it 😊💪
Classic club track.
I’ll add it on. Thank you Dave! 😊💪
I love watching your video. Aerials would be a good song from system of a down I would like to see you do.
Thank you Eli! 😊💪
very good! do "Aerials" "Chop Suey" "Hypnotize"...
Aerials should be next. You will like it more .
Thank you Michael, I really appreciate it. Yeah Im looking forward to discovering more SOAD but everyone should listen to songs like this 🤯
@@SoulSingerDiscovers the ginger in me loves your bluntness
There’s more where that came from 😂
heres hoping you get to any of Mike Patton's Bands. Faith No More, Mr Bungle, Fantomas, Peepeing Tom, Tomahawk etc.
Daron (the little one) can actually sing for reals
Totally agree. This song was one of the first I'd heard from them and it (unfairly) negatively effected my veiw of the band for years. Also, what government isn't, essentially, fascist?
Wait, wait! Don't shoot. I'm just askin' questions here.
Kenneth! We have a lot in common you and I. I think this negatively effected my view of them, and I’ll need to go back again….but all government.
Kenneth started it!!! I just agreed 😂😂
Sure, but the "dancing/desert" vocals are plural
SOAD has two singers. Serj is the main though. You want wo hear MAD harmonies, check out "Hypnotize." Just as political, but the tune is beautiful, and the melodies. The melodies are of Alice in Chains qualities. That is high praise. Hairs standing on ends.
I will do Peter! 😊💪
"Korn - Daddy" is probably the king of important songs that are hard to listen too.
I’ve got Korn on the list and I cannot wait because I’m convinced I’m gonna love it 🥰
@@SoulSingerDiscovers this is probably not the best song to start with if you want to get s good impression 😅
Wanna hear Polka Metal? Listen to their song Radio/Video
You had me at polka metal 😂
@@SoulSingerDiscoversyou want polka metal??? You HAVE to listen to Balrog Boogie by Diablo Swing Orchestra 🖤🖤🖤🖤 seriously weird I love it
If you want an experience with another band who goes between chaos and order, I would suggest looking into The Mars Volta.
Oh I don’t have that one! I’ll pop it down 😊💪
"Im a bitter working class Scottish woman" i choke on coffee and it flys out my nose im a bitter worki g class guy for belfast noth of ireland (bit of politics there hehe)
And I am pretty aware, that I will never pass homeland security at an American airport, LOL.
Have a great evening and a good week. I am happy that your channel develops so well. Looking forward to your live stream! Finally a RUclips channel that I follow, that is in my timezone! :-D
I loved the reaction, I recommend you react to alice in chains, it's a grunge band from the 90s
I have AIC on my list to react to 😊💪
As a huge SOAD fan i get a bit worried when B.Y.O.B is someones first introduction to the band since its so jarring.
@@SoulSingerDiscovers you're very welcome! I look forward to your reactions! :D
nice reaction to a band that had some important messages at that point in time.
Oh nice! Any excuse to listen to a Scottish band 😊💪🏴
Serj is an amazing singer - Darin, yeah I am not much a fan at least compared to Serj. I believe you are right about the "pop" part. I love that its such jarring changes, really gets your attention.
He’s so good I am definitely going back for another System song soon! Thank you for watching Alicia 😊
Check out their song Hypnotize
Can not give you a direct link because of that =(
But those should give you some 'Metal subgenres and why would you ever care about them' 101 and I think that you will be able to appreciate the humor.
Listen to Serj Tankian (the lead singer) do Rains of Castamere. It is phenomenal.
System is a very politically motivated band, however they are also equally sarcastic. I remember Serj in and interview when the reporter asked about the new album he said there's a great tune about pajamas on it...
You're such a goofball! My kind of people.
You’re in the right place Chris! 😊
I think in a waythere is a technique in his screaming . He must be able to do it consistently without losing his voice when touring. I have no idea what that technique might be, but it can't be just reckless screaming.
Loving your reactions btw!
Thanks Julius! Ill check that out 😊
Listen to "Spiders" off their self titled album
Please do Tonight We Ride by Unleash the Archers
Got it on the list 😊💪
Recommendation, "AERIALS"
You might like the song Ariels better: ruclips.net/video/L-iepu3EtyE/видео.html
It still maintains the tonality / timbre of the vocalist, but is less jarring rhythmically.
I’ll check it out l. Thanks you my dude 😊
Sorry, I can’t listen to System Of A Down without thinking of Ace Ventura pet Detective😂
For me this is post peak System. The first three albums are absolute monsters. Try Sugar or Spiders off the first album for them at their most sonically brutal. Then maybe Ariels and Toxicity from the second album. Steal This was a bit of a throw away album but there's some gems on there.
No, I'm not discovering anything but your reaction
I hope that’s a good thing 😂
@@SoulSingerDiscovers it is, I'm fascinated by people reacting to new things, no matter what it is
Oh good 😊💪
It's probably my favourite song from SOTD.
What a great comment. thanks for this Darren! 😊
Rock is always personal feelings like pain and/or critic against a particular social problem or against the system. What about ONE by Metallica or
Why not reacting to DADDY by Korn.
Oh Koran is on the list don’t you worry, looking forward to it too 😊
Question is the next soad song you need to review
React to Aerials, this Is More for you and better for vocal analyse
Toxicity is my favourite SOAD track
do yourself a favour
ruclips.net/video/iywaBOMvYLI/видео.html
Aerials and Toxicity though 💫
Definitely gonna add them to my lists! I think SOAD are fantastic even if this one wasn’t my fav ✨
Wow the Scottish accent is really amazing i can listen to you all day Mel Gibson should have take more lessons he didnt make it justice but braveheart was still a great movie.
Yeah System of a down is a strange band cant decide if i like them or not heard some songs i liked bought two albums, but they was not so good maybe i bought wrong albums i dont know
You’re right! Mel Gibsons accent was a hate crime but also SOAD are a strange band 😂
