When you also factor in how readily available info is these days it absolutely blows my mind how lazy many people have gotten. The more readily available the info is the less people want to actually put in any effort to even find it. It does make you give up on humanity...
Love the Tony cameo haha. I like the idea of Coyote swapping the GT500 then just have the old engine on the side if you sell the car. Emailed you a possible topic/discussion idea for Sunday peasant chat. Take care!
The first thing I did when I bought my Manual GT was locate Ben Calimer.. Just in case.. My car is still stock so not there yet but within the next couple years I will be getting a blower and a Ben Cal stage 2 MT82.. I gotta get these credit cards paid off first! I hate being in Debt more than I love having nice things and there's a huge difference..
A 3-1-1 setup in the shelby with a predator blower would make the most sense to me. Gen 2 heads need to be trimmed to use that supercharger, not hard but it’s a little more work. You can also source a predator front cover tensioners pulleys and use oem parts to be 8 rib. There’s some vids on the blower swap but nothing as good as you put out. Eventually rebuild the 5.8 and have it looking pretty ready to sell with the car down the road.
The coyote is king Alex, look at yee yee cleeter, changed the crown vic to coyote and faster with zero issues, got rid of pos godzilla and went 6’s easily…. I love that Shelby you have man shes a keeper to me.
The only reason I'm here is because I saw the title of the video and thought "What kind of black magic bullshit is going on here to possibly make this work in an upside down world?!". I'm glad this video confirmed I'm not living in the matrix.
I wanted you to keep the GT500, but under good circumstances. That does sound cool though, gen2, predator blower and de-racecar it. Would be cool, and would be a good deal of content for sure. "Watch me make my race car, a street car, and love it more"
@@midnight347 I'd say it's making a "unique" car more unique. Although let's be real, specialty mustang or not, it's kind of hard to be unique when there are millions of mustangs, and thousands of them just like yours. It's not like it's a cobra R where there's only 103, 150 or 300.
Lmao. The "what's the best" questions have been answered non stop. There is no "best" there's what you need what you want and how much wiring you're willing to do.
My 2007 gt500 with a gen3r at 19 psi sure as hell dont need "rolling anti lag" even if it did exist lol. The reaponse basically feels na and there is NO lag. It blows my mind people even ask shit like this. They have such a low understanding overall on how vehicles work in general.
How hard is it to put a PD blower with lower numerical gears or a centri with higher numerical gears. Run a TVs for 3:31 or a centri with 373/410. As for the the gt500 if you want the money out of it I think your stuck with spending money, it's almost at the point where it wouldn't even be worth it to sell.
Hey Alex, I flashed my 23 gt back to the 91 tune from e85 with miles left of e85, filled up with 91 and the lt fuel trims were 1.25 lean af , and it's throwing po171 and po174 dtc... is it because of the ethanol inside the pump gas ?
Honestly I think the 5.8 vs coyote engine debate needs to be discussed with your accountant. Biting the bullet on a fresh shortblock might help you on the tax bracket
36:35 I know you would rather deal with kong as he’s a sponsor. But I got my gt500 blower from eBay for $1800 for Shelby America auctions .. tuned by you now that mf MOVES.
So the reason you’re talking about using a Gen 3 motor and locking the cams is strictly so it can be controlled with the Gen 1 control pack… correct? Otherwise I’m not sure I’m tracking the reason for locking the cams.
I have never been a Rah Rah type of person when it comes to Chevy, Dodge, or Ford.. I will say I have never been a Dodge guy at all.. Respect where respect is do they are making jam with the Hemi's but my God they are the biggest ugliest cars on the planet.. Anyway back to my point, I have always been impressed by what Ford has been able to do with their 302's since before the Foxbody's even.. Ford has been doing more with less for a very long time even back in the 289 days their engineer's found a way to make Jam with those little motor's or shelby did anyway.. Anyway I'll be 51 next month and I started out driving a 1976 Ford F250 trailer special 390 Big block it had a Nasty set of headers and it's funny how like 33 years later I back in a Ford again.. And Ford is still doing more with less..
They are. I like the coyote but hate the typical mindless coyote fanboy that jumped board after the s550 dropped...most of them came from the ricer world.
I think anyone who would buy your gt500 because of "shelby" motor probably wouldn't buy your car due to all the modifications..... that type of buyer is looking for a car with minimal mods
The 5.4 and 5.8 have WAY lower compression and they dont have the fancy tivct like coyotes the coyote is newer the 5.4./5.8 stuff is based on 2007 tech. Of course the gen 2 or 3 coyote is "better" its newer and has more tech. Since it has real high compression you can make alot of power on less boost they also have way more rpm. The 5.8 is stupid expensive to build. Way more than an iron 5.4 which gives you 95% of the results. Of course the coyote is better youre talking about newer engines with newer tech. It has real high compression...give a 5.4 high compression and forged rods just rev it to 7k dont even gotta rev to 8k itll make a shit load of power AND torque...it bugs me when guys compare older gt500 motors to newer coyotes. Compare it to s197 coyote and it shits on it. Its not that it has to be "shelby" its just back then one of the things that were cool about them was the unique engine and trans they had. It made it different coyotes are everywhere its a common motor that comes in dime a dozen gt they are way more readily available which is why theyre cheaper. The gt500 motors arent expensive becaise theyre shelby motors its because theyre alot more limited ecsp the overpriced 5.8. Im a 5.4 guy myself iron 5.4s are way cheaper to build for over 95% of the results vs a 5.8. Anyways yea compare to newer 15 up coyotes theyre better but not nearly as much as youre making it out. There was a guy who made 2500-3000 hp with a built teksid 4.6 4v and a 5.4 ford gt has also made over 2500 hp despite the "low tech". Theyre def capable of making power. I dont like putting coyotes in gt500s because it turns it into a basic gt pretty much. Its not about what is "better" sometimes theres things you just dont do.
Alex i hope you get a chance to read this and help me out brotha! Man im hoping to get some answers i just bought a vmp loki kit for my 16 f150 and ive asked 2 different people from vmp and got two different answers and hung up on great customer service 👍 but im only trying to figure out exactly what size belt and pulley to run at my elevation 5500 feet in Albuquerque NM the they sent an 85mm saying that should get me close then i spoke with ken and they said a 3.1 pulley should be my best bet which is around 78mm the confusing part is vmp has a video up about pulleys and suggest a 69mm pulley for 5k and up elevation i just need a solid accurate answer its unfortunate that I spent over 7k on a vmp supercharger and get hung up on trying to get a straight answer so i don't blow up my engine or it not get to its full potential im hoping Alex can clear things up!!
Are you tuning the car yourself? If not then your tuner should be able to get you right. If no answer I would get the 78mm as recommended to start then get it tuned and they will tell you if you can go up or not. Can do a dyno session in the environment you’re going to be racing in should give the best results. Go with what the manufacturer of the blower states usually it’s safe and if it’s not then it’s on them. Can go a bit bigger less boost won’t hurt anything.
Vmp is sending a tune, and I was gonna put it on a dyno to see where the boost is at. It's just ridiculous how they treated me honestly just asking questions and getting different answers then hung up on after spending 7k dollars just wanted to get it set up right the first time around and not have to buy different belts and pulleys but hey live and learn right thanks for the advice btw!
Tf would you coyote swap the gt500 for and be in the same amount of money to just fix it and be done. You’re in too deep now. Just fix it and cut your losses. Coyote swap it and you’ll never sell it for anywhere near what you need out of it. Nobody wants a pos dob setup.
The fact that this has to be a topic of discussion just makes me give up more on humanity.

Hello Alex, I'd like to get an Anti-lag tune for my Gen 3 Coyote equipped with a Gen 3 Kenne Bell.
How are you gonna pre wind up a unit attached to the crank by a belt?
My head hurts.
A 3-1-1 setup in the shelby with a predator blower would make the most sense to me. Gen 2 heads need to be trimmed to use that supercharger, not hard but it’s a little more work. Just sold my 14 Shelby to fix up the c7z ….
Ess guy here a none taken! Just common sense
the sombrero was to much i was crying bro you one funny mf 🤣😂
I know your pain with the 5.8. Im actually in your same situation. Getting my 5.8 rebuilt for the second time. Got RPG rebuilding it this time.
5.8 is expensive to build. An iron 5.4 build is way less expensive and you get 95+% of the results. .
Thumbs up
good video
I need to find these hookups for Gen 3 long blocks in about two months.

I wouldn't put a coyote into a gt500...it has nothing to do with what is "better" it's simply turning your unique gt500 into a dime a dozen gt.
@@midnight347 I'd say it's making a "unique" car more unique. Although let's be real, specialty mustang or not, it's kind of hard to be unique when there are millions of mustangs, and thousands of them just like yours. It's not like it's a cobra R where there's only 103, 150 or 300.
GM can run flex fuel on the stock computer and seem to have better maf sensors
Looking to get a better 60 foot on my 6sp manual. What's the best trans brake set up?
Lmao.

Lol no need man I am patient.
Orale Holmes !
Let me build boost on a power adder that already gives me boost in an instant 💀💀💀.

Why did you refuel before it was empty?
@@midnight347 It wasn't the fuel. I found a gap under the clamp and the air filter the jlt was leaking

Why not do both 😁?

someone is going to ask for a Brake Boost Tune and you have to make a video about that. Lol.

Gt500 computer. Not gen 1 control pack
Im sure turvi will take the job! 🤣
