Oh boy, so for those in the comments section talking about how awesome and manly barney and his apartment are, as something to be emulated, you're missing the point. Barney is written very deliberately as a caricature of fragile masculinity. His "manliness" is played for laughs, and his empathetic moments centre around his fragility and his need to hide behind this veil of confidence. His character growth is all about him figuring out how to become more emotionally honest, without throwing away the parts of his identity that don't cause him harm. You shouldn't aspire to be Barney in the earlier seasons, you should aspire to his growth over time.
The 501st is exclusively Stormtroopers. Not all Clone Troopers went on to become Stormtroopers. Most of the Stormtroopers were recruited from the general populace and were not clones at all.
Honestly, season 9 was fairly decent with a few great episodes. The final two episode ruined everything. I just consider season 9 episode 20 to be the finale.
