I had this Rock Tour one growing up and have thought about it since. So was really cool to see this video and remember how it looked. I wish I still had it!

Had Dragon Master and Checkered Flag. I Just bought Dragon Master a italian Version, with rules, Google translate helped me a lot. I remembered having lots of fun whit that in the Late 80s. Greetings from Germany.

Oh man, this thumbnail unlocked an old, buried memory. I had the red one, which google says was "Checkered Flag" (and the board looks familiar, so I'm pretty sure it's that one).
As for rules, I'm pretty sure each player uses both pieces: One on the map, and one on the tracker. The goal is to hit each city in sequence, playing a gig at each one until you can finish your tour at New York. Red places a piece on London and on the red circle on the tracker on the top, while Green places a piece on Los Angeles and on the green circle on the top. Both need to go to Rio de Janeiro first (which is 5 spaces away for both players, so neither really has an advantage). When you get there, you advance the tracker token to that square, and your destination becomes Moscow, and so on. The lines to the left and right of the map show that you can go around the globe, between the unnamed spot in Alaska and the unnamed spot north of Tokyo. The music notes are all cities on the tracker, meaning they're a destination at least once.
Some things aren't clear without instructions, like what exactly Super Jet does, or whether you have to land exactly on the city in question or if you can stop your movement early. Chicago being the destination just before New York and only being one space away would suggest that you have to land exactly on a spot, or else there'd be little tension for the final victory. Super Jet is likely "take an extra turn", just to keep the rules simple.
