Yes they still need to watch the clone war movie witch takes place in between attack of the clones and revenge of the sith, Solo which shows the backstory of Han Solo and how he made the kessel run and how he won the falcon. Last but not least they need to watch episode 7, 8 and 9 aka the sequels that take place after return of the Jedi.
Just a quick note, Carrie Fisher did in fact see this movie when it premiered. She was genuinely surprised and thought that they had reused footage filmed from A New Hope that she had forgotten about. It was reported that she got excited and squealed like a little girl when she saw the ending. She passed away one week after she got to see the movie. May our General and Princess always be one with the Force.
I worked at ILM when the Leia scene was being worked on. Some people criticise the CG but they don't realise deep fake technology wasn't available then and they had to make a CG head and animate and light it. It's incredibly hard to do that and make it look 100% real. I saw early iterations of it and it was way more Polar Express lol, they managed to get it looking pretty good.
Friend, sister, and I were watching this in the theater and only a few minutes before her (CGI) appearance, I was checking my cell phone and a message popped up that Carrie Fisher died. That was a freak coincidence
o7 Like, it wasn't perfect, but it was only on the screen for like 3 seconds, so that's okay. It's not like with Tarkin, where they gave him more screen time than he had when he was alive. But they did a better job on him, so that's okay too.
Those of us who saw this movie in theatres know just how unreal the Vader scene was on the big screen. That one scene is better than anything the sequel trilogy ever did.
Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie after the first Star Wars trilogy. It was fun watching y'all realize the time line and getting your goods on with the revelation of Lord Vader
Being 50 years old, and growing up with the original trilogy, I went into this moving wondering where this was going to end up. I knew the general time line, but not the specific. So when we finally arrive at the Vader hallway scene. I was really trying to adjust in my head where I was in the overall story. But the moment I saw the white hallway, I heard that klaxon It was dawning on me. And once the rebel soldier yelled LAUNCH!! Well I immediately recognized for sure the Tantive VI. I looked over to my wife who is kind of a fan, and told her that we were moments away from going home and rewatching A New Hope. She asked why, then she saw Leia. . . . . Yeah, we watched the original trilogy deep into the morning :)
The best part about this film is how well it ties in with the beginning of Episode 4 and in particular Vader's bad mood. You've gotta admire the brazenness of Princess Leia's lying. "I'm a member of the Imperial Senate on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan." "I literally watched you blow up an Imperial base 20 minutes ago young lady."
One of the greatest Star Wars movie ever. Even though Rogue One was never directly mentioned in Star Wars IV to VI (mainly because the movie was made after), but was part of the Rebel Alliance, they were mentioned in some of the TV series. It would have been cooler if their sacrifice was more mentioned in the movies. I really need to watch Andor.
So, it was sort of mentioned in The Empire Strikes Back. Luke was "Rogue Leader" of the Rogue Squadron each with a number starting with 2. Luke was Rogue Leader rather than Rogue 1 because that name was held in an honored position due to the sacrifice they made.
@@SteffensColby that was in Return of The Jedi and she was talking about another group who stole the intelligence for the 2nd Death Star. “many Bothans died” And they didnt steal plans, they stole the intelligence that let the Rebellion know the Emperor would be on the 2nd incomplete Death Star.
That last scene with Darth Vader single-handedly slaughtering an entire platoon of Rebel soldiers was one of the best moments in Star Wars history! That just shows how powerful he is. Even though he had very little screen time, they certainly did him justice.
It was a really cool seen but he didn’t exhibit any greater power than other force wheedlers. George Lucas said Vader was more powerful before he got messed up by Obi. Force power is diminished by armor and mechanics, so Anakin was his most powerful at the end of episodes 3. He was basically taking out low level goons even though it was fun to watch
If you were to take this scene, remove all the sounds from it, and replace the sound with any horror theme, from any of about a dozen classic horror films, it makes the whole scene even more crazy. Like... Just play this scene while the screeching murder-theme from the movie "Psycho" is playing, and it will give you chills!! lol
Only the re imagined scene that was done for new hope is better than this Vader scene. It was the first time you saw Vader being a bad ass and why people feared him. Imagine trapped in a hallway, heavy breathing, and a red light come on! Maddd!!
The ending of this movie puts us right at the start of episode 4. This ending explains why Darth Vader knew Leia was absolutely full of it when she said she was part of the Imperial Senate on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan. The same type of pointing Vader does to Leia is also the exact same thing Anakin did in episode 3 when Padme talked about bringing up a more diplomatic solution to the war.
The Vader hallway scene will always be one of my favorites. I’d say it’s equal to that of a coyote getting into a chicken coop. Those guys stood no chance. I also love the scene where they ram the star destroyer into another star destroyer, it’s just creative and awesome! It’s really cool to see how creative the rebels can be, especially in the face of terrible odds with limited resources and numbers. Desperation can sometimes breed really creative innovation.
Shoving a Star Destroyer into a second Star Destroyer to destroy them both, and specifically aim it to fall and destroy the shield gate. It's my favorite "Rebels" scene in all of live action Star Wars
It is confirmed in the Star Wars Canon comic Darth Vader when he had his castle built on Mustafar and then in the Vader Immortal vr game. Vader/Anakin tried to revive Padme from the end of episode 3 Revenge of the Sith, but he couldn't see it because Luke and Leya were already born. Because he thought they died in her womb. So when he tried to revive her, he couldn't see them because they were already born. And then when he found out that he had a son, he wanted to be sure Darth Vader 2020 comic period between Star Wars episode 5 and 6. And some time after that, this cinematic Fallen Angel takes place.
I remember watching this opening night, the entire crowd was cheering at the top of their lungs with vaders hallway scene. Then followed by everybody gasping and being speechless when the door opened to reveal it was Princess Leia and the opening of a new hope. Loved this movie so much!
The musical score for this movie is so, so good. Heres a straight insane fact. The guy who scored it, Michael Giacchino (look him up, he's done tons of super famous scores) wrote the entire thing in roughly two weeks. The original composer backed out at the las5 minute for some unrevealed reason, and Giacchino was brought in as an emergency, and in the two weeks before the deadline, he wrote an entire score that is equally as strong as all of John Williams' original scores. Giacchino is easily one of the best composers active today and he's painfully under-known
Thank you so much for this. I had no idea. He's scored so many amazing films and shows! His scores for the Kelvin timeline Star Trek films AND, one of my favorite TV shows of all time: Fringe. The guy is genius. He manages to nail the music, while having it compliment the film/shows in a super seamless way.
So excited for this one! 😊 This is, in my opinion, some of the best Disney "Star Wars" content that we've gotten so far, along with some of the shows. No matter how many times I watch this movie, that last moment with Jyn and Cassian always brings a few tears to my eyes. Love the cameo appearances by Bail Organa(Leia's adopted father), Mon Mothma, Princess Leia(played by a different actress and with cgi), and of course Darth Vader. And a blink, and you'll miss them cameo by C-3PO and R2-D2. That last hallway scene with Vader is by far one of the best "Star Wars" moments. I love how this movie leads directly into "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope". Fun, but Sad Fact: Carrie Fisher(Princess Leia)passed away 11 days after this movie was released in the theaters. Looking forward to the next reaction. 😊
The ONLY Star Wars product that puts story, character-work and narrative above fan-service. Rogue One and Andor are absolutely the best things to come out of the Disney Star Wars productions, and Andor might even be some of the best television out there.
Man I found out about Carrie passing literal minutes after watching this a 2nd time! I had already seen it once opening night as I always do being rhe movie buff I am, then I'll see something a few more times after usually with family. I took my mother and niece my usual viewing *partners in cinema* we watched it loved it and there's a gas station across the street from the theater, I was filling up looked at my phone and went "MA SHE DIED!!" Now that I'm thinking about it I'm sure that put some fear into them me just blurting that out like so😂😂😂 she goes "who?!?" I didn't even say Carrie I said "Princess Leia!" I mean what are the odds of that? We go into movies sometimes knowing a cast member passed or see soon after releases but a film that quite literally ends with her face smiling up at us and the very next information I learn is that? We weren't even done discussing the movie yet. Even sadder her mother legend Debbie Reynolds was so grief stricken 1 of her last words were "I don't want to live w/o Carrie" and she herself died the VERY next day! Reasons like that are why death by "broken heart" were legitimate "causes of death" even more eerily like Padme's "she lost the will to live." Moment. Aside I wonder how Carries brother felt that his mother didn't find him as reason enough to want to live 🤔 but I'm rambling on now.
Chirrut Imwe's death scene always gets me to tears, just because he was such a "bro" the entire movie, and he goes out like a true hero, in spite of his blindness!
I love the last scene with Jyn and Cassian. The fact they didn't do a dumb stereotypical kiss and just held each other instead makes the scene so much more powerful
Vader lighting his red saber at the end is the second best Star Wars scene. And I love how people get into this movie so much that we forget we already KNOWS what's gonna happen
I always loved how the door was jammed until Vader easily opened it…in other words the door wasn’t broken, Vader was holding it closed with the force the whole time while dispatching the soldiers in the hallway.
Yes, I don't think he used the force on it at all, for if he did, why didn't he just seal it instead? And because he didn't, the plans got away. Do keep in mind that his lightsaber went through a man's chest, and through the door, and perhaps that's what opened it. As I like to look at it, the door was an accident that happened without Vader, and then when he gets to the door, he opens it with the saber through blind rage, so Vader benefitted twice because of the door, but unfortunate for him the door didn't get jammed after being completely shut. Thinking about it more, other than the last group of guys that were trapped in there with Vader, when the first door jammed, it wasn't because the rebel scum did it either. In fact, it probably would be more normal that the entire ship, at least through the hallways, were all open. You didn't even know Vader was there, so there was no chance they tried to close the door with all those guys inside, and then it happened to jam. So maybe it was Vader? The best I can come up with, is that it was Vader, but he did a poor job with it, where he used too much force and it got off the track, and that also kept him from shutting it completely. Perhaps he uses the force to get an ordinary shutting of the door, but one of the guys accidentally bumps into it as it's shutting, therefore getting it off track?
This is by far the best disney-era star wars movie, the best Standalone, and my favorite story in the entire Star Wars cinematic universe. I honestly find it better than any other star wars movie except MAYBE A New Hope...
@@cteal2018ngl I agree lol Don't get me wrong I like rots, but something about rogue one... Andor only makes rogue one better too The death star scene when krennic is killed by his own creation is one of the best scenes in sw don't @ me
8:27 It wasn't in the reaction video, but the slap that K2 inflicts on Cassian was improv-ed into the final cut of the film. It was because the makeup department had given Cassian a small cut/bruise below the lip but there was no scene filmed that explained how his character got that injury. So Diego Luna quickly brainstormed with Alan Tudyk and they quickly put together that small moment. You can even see after Cassian gets slapped, you can see Diego covering his face with his hand and see he's actually trying not to laugh at Alan's performance.
If y’all are going to check out the shows, I’d recommend watching the animated ones first. They are widely loved and serve the main story of Star Wars greatly! The Clone Wars dives so much deeper into Anakin and Obi-Wan’s characters as well as gives the clones some heavy character development. And it helps bridge the gap between episodes 1 and 2. Tales of the Jedi has 6 episodes, 3 that explain how Count Dooku fell to the dark side, and 3 about Ahsoka who is mostly the main character of the clone wars. The Bad Batch tells a great story about the fall of the clone troopers and how the empire turned to using storm troopers. The main characters are introduced in the final season of the clone wars and are pretty great! And lastly Rebels which shows the rise of the rebellion, and has a lot of fun characters that are heavily involved in the newer live action shows set after Return of the Jedi!
You were a bit confused because there were actually 2 deathstars. They made the first one and it was destroyed in A New Hope, then the second one they destroyed in Return of the Jedi
Yeah, I was kind of surprised on how they could have forgotten so much, at times in their reaction, I thought that this might have been the first Star Wars movie they've seen! There were SO many call-backs to Episode 4!
The black suited troopers are called death troopers. They were used as personal bodyguards for high ranking officers of the empire. There are several members in the 501st legion that have gone on to build the armor of the death trooper and go to various 501st events.
The Vader hallway fight had peoole at my theater showing screaming like they were in a horror movie! This is, hands down, one of the best Star Wars movies. (The Empire Strikes Back is my other favorite.) And now you need to watch Andor, which best demonstrates why the rebels of this era are so ruthless.
06:04 Peter Cushing plays an English Colonel in the movie "Biggles: Adventures in Time" (1986) being the British actor that he is and that was his last film. Does great as a protagonist and as an antagonist. Here he is CGI'd. A great actor who unfortunately passed away back in 1994 from cancer. 33:16 Death Star 1 was destroyed in the ORIGINAL Star Wars (before it became known as A New Hope). Death Star 2 was a new rebuild of it during Return of the Jedi.
When i saw Rogue One in theater, Carrie Fisher passed away only two weeks prior. When i saw a young her at the end, i bawled. Crazy trivia: watch Vader in the hallway scene again. To make himself more menacing, he shut down all of his chest and belt electronics, which powered his breathing apparatus. That means he held his breath during that entire fight. At the end, when he walked out after Leia's ship fled, his belt had turned back on, meaning the backup for his breathing unit had kicked on.
You were asking about the timeline of when this takes place. I'm late to the party and you have probably figured it out already, but it's right before A New Hope. When Leia's ship jumped into hyperspace, she was on the way to Tatooine to pick up Obi-Wan. As you know, those plans didn't go accordingly.
I think personally the fact that this movie pointedly did not have any Jedi in it or anything really to do with the whole Skywalker family drama and was about what the war was like for everyone else was one of its greatest narrative strengths.
What I loved the most about Rogue One is the sound design and scope Everything just sounds heavy, looks real The view of the star destroyer over the city, the death star covering a sun, the planet tearing up from the blast, etc. But of course all that pales to the Darth Vader hallway scene, mother of god what a scene, and then it perfectly guides you into Episode 4
Definitely one of the best star-wars movies, and the way they made it all connect together is awesome, believe it or Not they only decided to bring Darth-Vader in before they had nearly completed filming!. Which is crazy.. Great Reaction 👍
This is easily my favorite Star Wars film. I honestly like it more than the originals but not by much. The sense of scale and urgency is a lot deeper with this title. It was the best cinematic experience of my life. I saw it in theaters and when Vader appeared everyone went ballistic and I couldn’t hear the rest of the movie lol.
2:14 Imperial Death Troopers. The Imperial Naval Special Warfare Development Group, or Imperial DEVGRU. Like our own DEVGRU (SEAL Team 6). These are Tier 1 Imperial special forces. Specialized in asymmetric warfare, counter insurgency, destabilization tactics, espionage, counter intelligence, and combat. These troopers would also be assigned as personal protection details for high ranking Imperial officers, like Krennic. Vader also had a detachment of Death Troopers at his disposal.
I like the Vader scene at the end. Finally you can see what a Sith or even a Jedi can do when their fighting and Force abilities are unleashed. I like how they show the Rebellion being not so clear cut good guys. They get their hands dirty and can be ruthless when they have to be, which adds some realism. And the blind hero, forgot his name, he's a Force sensitive. Which are people who can use the Force in a limited way but they can't become a full Jedi because they don't have the full abilities to become one, the best way I can describe it. If you played the Knights of the Old Republic video game, you'll recognize that hammer head ship that crashed into one of the Star Destroyers to push it into the other Star Destroyer
Those are the same hammerhead cruisers that are captured by the crew of the Ghost in Rebels. (Chopper can be seen on Yavin IV, the Ghost arrives with the fleet at Scariff, and Hera is paged in the background audio.)
"I don't remember the rebels being this ruthless." This director is not a Star Wars fan, but he has a deep understanding of real rebellions and the oppressive regimes they fight against. The heroes of the original trilogy were able to be all noble precisely because people like Cassian Andor were willing to get their hands very dirty. 9:10 Where is this in the timeline? As you'll see from the end of this movie, this happened just before A New Hope. This is how Leia got those Death Star plans. All of the squadrons are named for colors except for Rogue Squadron. Among other things, this movie explains how Rogue Squadron got its name.
If you really liked the whole normal people in the Star Wars universe aspect of this, at some point you should really check out Andor, a tv show that starts about 5 years earlier. It shows the background of Cassian Andor, how he got radicalized into becoming part of the Rebellion, and does more than any other Star Wars property to show the daily life of people under the Empire, and its oppression.
Rule#1: Never piss off a Skywalker. Rule#2: Never face a Skywalker in a hallway. Ever. Rule#3: You don't beat Vader, you just try to stay alive. Rule #4: If you see Vader...run! Rule#5: Anything further...refer to rules 1-4.
The Phantom Menace - 32 BBY (32 Years *Before* A New Hope) Attack of the Clones - 22 BBY Revenge of the Sith - 19 BBY *Rogue One* - 0 BBY (Ending leads *Straight* into A New Hope) A New Hope - 0 BBY Empire Strikes Back - 3 ABY Return of the Jedi - 4 ABY The Force Awakens - 34 ABY The Last Jedi - 34 ABY The Rise of Skywalker - 35 ABY (35 Years *After* A New Hope)
I love the original trilogy. We wore the VHS tape of Star Wars out & I saw Return of the Jedi in the cinema, so I want you to know my full meaning, when I say that this is my personal favourite out of all the Star Wars films. The story in itself is awe-inspiring, but to have that ending lead directly into the start of Episode 4/A New Hope = 👨🏻🍳😙👌🏻
I absolutely love this movie, and it is one of my most memorable trips to the cinema ever. I loved the movie from beginning to end, but that Vader scene turned an already great movie into a legendary one. It was just that final holy crap this is amazing moment that is true movie magic. To bad that one year later I had the exact opposite experience with The Last Jedi. Going from one of my favorite movie going experiences to one of the absolute worst.
This one is tied with Empire Strikes Back for my favorite Star Wars movie. One of the things I like is that it does show the darker side of the Rebellion. In reality, those kinds of armed resistance movements cannot work without certain groups getting their hands dirty and blurring the lines.
Andor is one of the most interesting protagonists in Star Wars. He's a rebel willing to do almost anything, even it it means the deaths of people on his side, even if that means he has to pull the trigger on those people himself.
One of the moments of showing how terrifying Darth Vader was and is. The only guy in that boarding room that had the right idea was the guy screaming to let him out. You can't beat Vader, just being near him is a quick ticket to Unalive Central
Its one of the best Star Wars films ever, despite the fact that it has no Jedi at all, and very few Force users beside Chirrut and Vader. This was the story I knew of from a long while ago playing the old West End Games Star Wars tabletop RPG stories, and Id always wanted to see it on film. Gareth Edwards became one of my favorite directors after this premiered. I loved this film.
I've seen every Star Wars movie in the theater on its release date (episode 4 3 weeks after release) and to this day, this is still my favorite Star Wars movie of all time. It is Star Wars. Not that it's the initial trilogy, but this is actual war. In the original trilogy, we pretty much knew the main characters were going to survive, this one, no one did which happens in war. Yes that "every day people fighting the war" that you mention.
Fact that this movie took place just b4 Ep 4 really tied everything together. Luke blew up Death Star in Ep4, Lando & Wedge in Ep 6. Rogue One felt the most "war like" to me of all SW movies cuz (as u said) it seemed more like "regular people" fighting & dying. I also liked Rogue One cuz I felt they depicted the Rebellion more realistically (not squeaky clean good guy boy scouts, but desperate underdogs doing what needs to be done, even if not so nice). Rogue One was a home run, so was surprised u both rated it where u did. But, many of your audience hv advantage of having watched all these movies many times. This was both your 1st time, so stuff still needs to sink in. And, as w/all movies, you'll catch more on re-watch.
So this puts it right before the first movie, "Star Wars IV: A New Hope." If you watch the start of that, it's funny because Leia is like "this is a peaceful diplomatic mission" and Vader is like "BITCH, I JUST SAW YOU TAKE OFF WITH THE PLANS!" It puts that scene in a whole new light. The first time, you're like "this guy is being a total asshole," but now if you watch it again, he's 100% obviously right, and her excuse is stupidly transparent. The Death Star was destroyed in episode 4. They tried to build a new one in episode 6, but that got destroyed too.
16:38 This is the same planet where Anakin and Obi fought, where he burned. Planet's name is Mustafar. This planet also happens to be a strong siphon of the Dark side of the Force. So Vader made his HQ on this planet.
6:47 Fun fact: Donnie Yen was the one who suggested that his character be blind. They loved the idea so much that his character was written with that change into the script. "Are you kidding me, I'm blind!" was improvised by him as well. Years from now, he would bring another badass blind character to the big screen again in John Wick 4. ;)
Saw Garera was a character from the Clone Wars. Years of fighting and the death of his sister radicalized him. If you knew him from the Clone Wars, this version of the character is almost unrecognizable, but hardly an unexpected character path. This movie led to the Andor TV show, which explains how Cassian came to be who he is. It is simply one of the most amazing Star Wars anything ever.
What you said at the end about this being the regular people fighting- yes, absolutely. That is something the original trilogy did really well since only Luke, Obi-Wan, and Yoda were jedi. Everyone else that you see fighting are just regular people. You should really check out Andor. It is fantastic and really carries on that theme. It is less really about Cassian Andor, the guy you see here, and much more about the formation of the rebellion from the oppressed peoples. It is fantastic.
now you have to go back and watch "A New Hope" and catch all of the easter eggs that Rogue One had in it. like the two guys they ran into on Jedha (the moth looking guy and the one with the messed up face) are the two guys from the Cantina in A New Hope that Obi Wan killed.
Rogue One takes place 2 weeks prior to the beginning of Episode IV. In Episode IV, Rogue Squadron was the group of X-Wings that went after the Death Star. Rogue Squadron was renamed in honor of the Rogue One Rebels who died getting the plans for the Death Star. Luke said "Red 5" because that was the squadron's original designation. Red is for X-Wings Gold is for Y-Wings Green is for A-Wings Blue is for B-Wings The Millennium Falcon is a Corellian YT-1000 model freighter Most of the rebel capital ships were built by the Mon Calamari The Empire's capital ships were built on Corellia, which was originally a Republic shipyard. Just a little info on the types of ships.
I do have mixed feelings about Rogue One, but that Darth Vader hallway scene was spine chilling. Great portrayal of the sheer power and terror he commands just by existing.
That feeling when you realize who has holding the door not opening :D And after that now I understand how he was so ruthless and pissed off in Star Wars: New Hope. He was this close to actually getting the plans.
@@Amh088 Oh yeah. Plus his suit is designed after ancient Sith tech, it constantly stabs him with needles to piss him off even more. Bro really said "Where you going?"
In the rebel attack to Scarif, the red five pilot unfortunately died. And the rebellion chose later a new red five pilot... Luke Skywalker as we saw in ep IV and the rest.
On opening night, the Vader slaughter scene was not what we expected. You could hear a pin drop. We could not believe what we were seeing. I will never forget it.
In case y’all watch Andor (the prequel series to Rogue One), the season is broken up into 3 story arcs. Ep. 1-3 is the first, 4-6 second, and 7-10 is the third. If it seems slow to start, that’s why. I hope you guys do watch it though. It’s some of the best Star Wars out there
This movie explains why Vader was so pissed in A New Hope, not only did he witness the ship escape before his very own eyes Leia also dead ass looks him in the face and says "not got a clue mate" when questioned about the missing plans lol
You guys have to watch Andor. It’s also from Tony Gilroy, who did the screenplay for this movie, but he and his brother had a major part in writing Andor….another phenomenally told Star Wars story
This is one of my favorites! I took my son to see this when he was around 10. I remember as it ended he looked up at me with waterer eyes and said”well Dad, that sucked. They all died “. I said not all movies have a happy ending.
You have my follow, guys. I'm watching your reactions for a while, I'm not giving a follow to anybody just like that, but your reactions are from a heart, on point, you are a beautiful couple and I wish you all the best in the future and many followers on your channel. Greatings from Czech Republic 🇨🇿 May the Force be with you! 🙏🏻
This is considered the episode before a new Hope. You may recall the general told others these plans came at great cost. This movie is what he was talking about.
Anakin and his Dramatic ass... Turning OFF his life support so he could sneak into that hallway unseen.. Yes.. his chest has lights on it. AND THEN... when he is IN SPACE his cape is flowing... this Drama queen... used the force.. to make his cape flow for dramatic effect xD
The black stormtroopers are Death Troopers. They’re supposed to be undead. There were a failed experiment of Palpatine’s to gain immortality. Their comms are encoded and can only be understood by each other. The Rebels in this are at the beginning of the rebellion so they haven’t truly formed how things work. They did a great job casting the actor to play Tarkin in this one. He does look like Peter Cushing so they didn’t have to do much on the cgi. K2SO is like 3PO without the protocol/manners feature. Chirrut believes in the force but isn’t a Jedi or force user. It’s interesting they mention the Whills cause that is how Lucas started with a group of people called the Whills that were telling this story. His idea for the sequel trilogy was to bring them into the series. The slap that K2 gave Cassian if you watch Cassian closely he’s covering his face to cover his laughing cause he thought it was funny. Jyn was going to stop Cassian but went the wrong way. This happens between Episodes 3&4 and after Solo. Movies in timeline order are Episodes 1,2,3,Solo,Rogue One,Episodes 4,5,6,7,8,9. There’s a bunch of tv series that fall into the timeline in different spots.
Yeah they were good , That's why we need a full series focusing on his first few years as Vader , Think of the amount of cool shiz we could see :) @@theol10
@@theol10 yeah but a series ABOUT Vader. Some Breaking Bad ish, where the protagonist is the villain. That would be a DARK series. There's a lot of good material from the comics they could mine... a series about Vader's early apprenticeship to Palpatine, where a lot of the guys he kills are also bad guys, would be a good way to make us almost forget how evil he really is until he actually kills some GOOD guys (i.e., Jedi) at the series' conclusion.
Bruh, Star Wars is the series you're thinking of. We don't need any explanation for Vader and Disney would just fuck it up as they did with BOBF, Obi-Wan and now Ahsoka.
Ppl always forget (understandably) that in "A New Hope", I believe it's Leia that says to Han Solo..."A lot of people died to get these plans". Yeah, a lot.
I've been a casual+ SW fan probably about as long as you guys have been alive, and Rogue One is, imo, the 4th best SW film (obv the original trilogy are unbeatable). The prequels have a lot to love (I saw them all in original theater release), but when this movie dropped, I was blown away. Even the concept itself is fantastic, the story of how the Death Star plans got into the hands of the rebels in the first place, which kicks off Ep 4 New Hope. I enjoyed your reactions and it warms my heart to share joy in a magnificent work of art.
I liked how they brought Tarkin back, but as CGI. 6:43 Those 2 were the ones that harassed Luke in ANH. 7:37 The coolest people don't look back at their explosions. 😎 This film transitions directly into ANH, with only minutes separating them, if that. Jyn was going to try and stop Cassian, but she didn't know which path he took. It was weird seeing Mustafar again. 16:49 Wait a minute, is that the guy from Rebels, the old scientist at the end of S4? Vader is scary. This isn't really for the video. It's for any criticisms towards what I'm about to mention, but the "be careful not to chose on your aspirations...director" quote fits Anakin so perfectly. I've always been thinking just because Anakin became Vader, that doesn't mean that his cocky talk goes away. When I first watched Rogue One, I had no idea how many Rebels references there were. Hera was mentioned, Chopper was shown, Saw was from TCW and Rebels and now Andor too, and even the Ghost was shown in the Battle of Scarif. The 1st Death Star was destroyed in ANH and the 2nd was destroyed in RotJ.
Easily the best star wars movie under the Disney banner and definitely a top 3 of all time. I remember when i left the theater (seconds after seeing princess leia) and saw that Carrie Fisher had passed on my phone. Twas so crazzzy. This film ends seconds before the ORIGINAL movie begins.
It was a privilege to see this scene in theaters. Bro walked in like the Mf devil himself. Closest thing I’ve seen to a horror flick in any Star Wars movie.

Y’all should watch Star Wars the Clone Wars animated movie
Yes they still need to watch the clone war movie witch takes place in between attack of the clones and revenge of the sith, Solo which shows the backstory of Han Solo and how he made the kessel run and how he won the falcon. Last but not least they need to watch episode 7, 8 and 9 aka the sequels that take place after return of the Jedi.
Now obi won series
I have never laughed so hard seeing people watching Rogue One. Their faces when Vader is slaughtering the rebels in the hall room scene is priceless
Bravo @@aaronbarlow4376 I thought it was well done.
She's one with the coke nail.
Friend, sister, and I were watching this in the theater and only a few minutes before her (CGI) appearance, I was checking my cell phone and a message popped up that Carrie Fisher died. That was a freak coincidence
o7
Like, it wasn't perfect, but it was only on the screen for like 3 seconds, so that's okay.
I went twice. IT WAS INSANE.
I totally agree 👍
Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie after the first Star Wars trilogy.
It was fun watching y'all realize the time line and getting your goods on with the revelation of Lord Vader
And the Prequels.
@@williammobley9634nope
Perfect night for sure.
The best part about this film is how well it ties in with the beginning of Episode 4 and in particular Vader's bad mood.
You've gotta admire the brazenness of Princess Leia's lying.
"I'm a member of the Imperial Senate on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan."
"I literally watched you blow up an Imperial base 20 minutes ago young lady."
It actually does fit right in with him immediately answering her back with, "You are part of the rebel alliance and a traitor!"
darth vader "dont fuking gaslight me senator organa. I saw you!!!"
It's like with this in mind, she KNOWS that he already knows she's lying to his face, and probably can't legally do anything about it right then.
vader "bish i seen't it"
Also, add in the fact that she's his daughter, and he doesn't even realize it until much later. He had her... right there, and she got away.
Damn you haven't seen Andor? If you loved this movie you will absolutely LOVE Andor. Same writer too. (Tony Gilroy)
So, it was sort of mentioned in The Empire Strikes Back. Luke was "Rogue Leader" of the Rogue Squadron each with a number starting with 2. Luke was Rogue Leader rather than Rogue 1 because that name was held in an honored position due to the sacrifice they made.
I think in in A New Hope, Mon Mothma said that a gorup of brave rebels sacrificed their lives for the plans
@@SteffensColby that was in Return of The Jedi and she was talking about another group who stole the intelligence for the 2nd Death Star.
“many Bothans died”
And they didnt steal plans, they stole the intelligence that let the Rebellion know the Emperor would be on the 2nd incomplete Death Star.
@@obibyn oh yeah, I knew it was one of them, but I couldn’t remember
That last scene with Darth Vader single-handedly slaughtering an entire platoon of Rebel soldiers was one of the best moments in Star Wars history! That just shows how powerful he is. Even though he had very little screen time, they certainly did him justice.
honestly i was expecting him to choke them all at once.
@@maelguiraud3568it was way cooler watching him slice his way through tho
It was Michael myers level terror and carnage
Shoving a Star Destroyer into a second Star Destroyer to destroy them both, and specifically aim it to fall and destroy the shield gate. It's my favorite "Rebels" scene in all of live action Star Wars
Luke's squadron in the OT was "Rogue Squadron/Rogue Group" to honor the people who sacrificed their lives to get the death star plans.
Some of the reasons y'all loved this movie for are exactly part of what makes the Andor series so phenomenal. 💖
Vader really only appeared in 3 scenes in this movie, only one being with dialogue and still managed to be the best part of the movie
This is, in my opinion, some of the best Disney "Star Wars" content that we've gotten so far, along with some of the shows.
Some of = the only Disney star wars that's watchable. Mainly because it was from a story not from them.
I took my mother and niece my usual viewing *partners in cinema* we watched it loved it and there's a gas station across the street from the theater, I was filling up looked at my phone and went "MA SHE DIED!!" Now that I'm thinking about it I'm sure that put some fear into them me just blurting that out like so😂😂😂 she goes "who?!?" I didn't even say Carrie I said "Princess Leia!"
I mean what are the odds of that?
I always loved how the door was jammed until Vader easily opened it…in other words the door wasn’t broken, Vader was holding it closed with the force the whole time while dispatching the soldiers in the hallway.
or it was jammed...and he just used the force to rip it open
Not even close. Most overrated movie in SW. Just because of one scene
Best SW since Return of the Jedi. The entire scene on Scarif might be the best battle scene in the entire series.

It's tied for me with ROTS 😅 I can't decide which I love better
8:27 It wasn't in the reaction video, but the slap that K2 inflicts on Cassian was improv-ed into the final cut of the film. It was because the makeup department had given Cassian a small cut/bruise below the lip but there was no scene filmed that explained how his character got that injury. So Diego Luna quickly brainstormed with Alan Tudyk and they quickly put together that small moment.
You can even see after Cassian gets slapped, you can see Diego covering his face with his hand and see he's actually trying not to laugh at Alan's performance.
The deathstar was destroyed at the end of episode 4 a new hope. It was then being rebuilt during episode 5, and blown up again in episode 6.
My fav SW film. To me, it felt the most like a war movie. Thanks for the reaction.

(The Empire Strikes Back is my other favorite.)
And now you need to watch Andor, which best demonstrates why the rebels of this era are so ruthless.
Yet still bad
Love how she said "Hope" cuz that leads to the next movie. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope
They spent so much money on a digital double for Moff Tarkin and you didn't even notice him. :D
I think personally the fact that this movie pointedly did not have any Jedi in it or anything really to do with the whole Skywalker family drama and was about what the war was like for everyone else was one of its greatest narrative strengths.
What I loved the most about Rogue One is the sound design and scope
Everything just sounds heavy, looks real
The view of the star destroyer over the city, the death star covering a sun, the planet tearing up from the blast, etc.
The two guys Jen bumped into....were the same two guys that attacked Luke in the bar and Obi wan killed
I remember the entire theater losing their minds when Krennic landed on Mustifar, knowing exactly who lives there. 😂
"Can't even make this up," he said while watching a work of fiction 😅
"I don't remember the rebels being this ruthless."
This director is not a Star Wars fan, but he has a deep understanding of real rebellions and the oppressive regimes they fight against.
In the famous opening crawl in New Hope. The rebels they are talking about are these from Rogue One!!
Rogue One, Andor and Clone wars are the best things Disney has put out.

AGREED! WHAT A FEAKING TRAIN WRECK IT WAS. I FELT SO BAD FOR MARK HAMILL.
This one is tied with Empire Strikes Back for my favorite Star Wars movie. One of the things I like is that it does show the darker side of the Rebellion. In reality, those kinds of armed resistance movements cannot work without certain groups getting their hands dirty and blurring the lines.
YEP, EXACTLY!
Its even more terrifying when you realize the door at the end isn't jammed, Vader is holding it close.
Y'all need to see Andor, next. It's after EP III, and just before Rouge One.
Years from now, he would bring another badass blind character to the big screen again in John Wick 4. ;)
This movie takes place immediately before the events of Ep IV: A New Hope.
Saw Gerrera stayed on the planet I'm assuming because he was just tired at that point. He went thru a lot in Clone Wars and Rebels over the years.
This is in the top 3 star wars movies! So happy to see yalls reaction!
Red is for X-Wings
Gold is for Y-Wings
Green is for A-Wings
Blue is for B-Wings
The Millennium Falcon is a Corellian YT-1000 model freighter
Most of the rebel capital ships were built by the Mon Calamari
The Empire's capital ships were built on Corellia, which was originally a Republic shipyard.
Just a little info on the types of ships.
The rebels on the beach didnt stand a chance once the Death Troopers(black armor) showed up. They are like super soldiers.
I do have mixed feelings about Rogue One, but that Darth Vader hallway scene was spine chilling. Great portrayal of the sheer power and terror he commands just by existing.
Bro lives rent free in everyone's nightmares. He really is like that
That feeling when you realize who has holding the door not opening :D And after that now I understand how he was so ruthless and pissed off in Star Wars: New Hope.

Episode 8 Destroys episode 7, and episode 9 makes no sense and is completely CONVOLUTED
Dollars to donuts he doesn't give a crap about perfume.
This story is the yellow words before a new hope. That's why it's the only movie without scrolling words in the start.
So Star Wars: Solo has a text crawl?
Shushana has some legendary and sensitive reactions no cap her reaction is the best in whole youtube history save this lady at any cost ❤❤❤
If you're talking about the turtle ships from the Korean film, The Admiral: Roaring Currents, then great call! Great film, too.
Seeing prime Vader just slice his way through some rebel troopers and the fear he instilled was one of the greatest moments in all of Star Wars
We need to get a petition going for a Darth Vader series of him in his prime , And obviously cast Hayden in it.
his scenes in obi wan series are pretty good, and he's supposed to be at his prime
24:42 "I come from the land of the ice and snow..."
Every time I see the Vader hallway scene, I can’t help but think, “Tonight the part of Darth Vader will be played by Jason Voorhees.”
This movie takes place like a few days before episode 4: A New Hope
Ppl always forget (understandably) that in "A New Hope", I believe it's Leia that says to Han Solo..."A lot of people died to get these plans".
Yeah, a lot.
"Many bothans died bringing us this information."
Where are the bothans? When did Leia say that?
I'm 52 and for 30+ years, like most of my age, Empire was the best Star Wars movie ever. And then I saw this. Brilliant.
Banger till this day in movie theater it was godly masterpiece.
@18:30 Jyn: 'May the Force be with us!' Shoshana: 'The force is strong with that one.' She said the thing!! 😅🤗
Ends right where episode 4 a new hope starts.
I liked how they brought Tarkin back, but as CGI.
6:43 Those 2 were the ones that harassed Luke in ANH.
7:37 The coolest people don't look back at their explosions. 😎
This film transitions directly into ANH, with only minutes separating them, if that.
33:25 In the original trilogy, there were two Deathstar. The one destroyed in Episode 4 and the larger one destroyed in Episode 6.
crazy how they reshot 70% of this movie cause it was “too violent”. i’d love to see the OG rogue one takes
