- The best gold prospecting tool for every season is the one that will find you the most gold! In this case, the water levels are just right for me to gold dredge an area of bedrock that I have been eyeing for years. For this, we pull out the suction nozzle since it performs very well in low water situations.
Let's find more gold!

love a true Colorado Miner.
Thanks James🙌
Have that same highbanker combo and love it,well done!👍👍
Awesome, that Keene 3" combo has been a really great tool for me over the years! Heavy pans guys!
Deadly video buddy!! Love it!
Slayin bedrock! Thanks GGH, heavy pans!
Very satisfying to watch you clean up the bedrock. Thank you for sharing with us
I really went to town on that bedrock. Next time, I will get down n personal and do my best to show it. It i so rewarding to see flakes of gold wedged down in a tiny bedrock crack!
Just found your channel and glad I did, last year me and my brother took a trip up to Colorado and ended up going thru Leadville, got to say their mineral museum is awesomely amazing, saw all sorts of stuff native and exotic mineral specimens and awesome history too
Great video....love the way you have the dredge set up. Lots of pretty color in that pan. Thanks for sharing!
Nice spot
Right on! back to dredging and a good start. Hope you kill it this year!
It was a great start indeed JSG! I still have a few more days to clean out that entire ledge. Hope you have a phenomenal year as well!!!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp Thank you sir! My next stop is Tim's gold nugget hunt on the Yuba. I haven't even gotten wet yet this year! Love your show!
WOW I can't believe that I won twice, that's amazing. Thank you bro, I appreciate all that you do and congratulations to all the other winners.
Yeeehaaaaaw! Way to go Cory. The gold Gods were favoring you today!
Just recieved the nugget and bag of paydirt yesterday and I gotta say EUREKA! The Australian nugget is beautiful and the bag of paydirt was phenomenal, I had so much fun panning it out and seeing all of that spectacular AU. Keep up the good work and I will help keep the dream alive. Thank you so much.
Eureeekaaa! I am so glad that your Nugget Club package arrived quickly and golden! Thank you so much for the support Cory, you are a true gold nugget🙌
Sweet! Congratulations
Awesome video! Man, that water looks tasty! Nice work prospecting brother!
Sometimes we get lucky but usually we have to work for it! Prospecting in clean, clear rivers can be quite refreshing indeed! Get it Brother🙌
Wow I got your Pay Dirt! A complete Surprise! Thanks So Much ! I has So Much Fun Panning this out!
Fantastic! Soo good to hear. May you have many more heavy pans to come GT🙌
Nice video, I love watching and living vicariously through youtube lol...I bet that water was chilly huh....
It sure looks cold!
The water was quite chilly but manageable JD. I'm gonna go hop in again tomorrow!
I like to see all of the effort you put into mining. Many people think that gold just jumps into the gold pan.
The difficult nature of mining is what makes it so very rewarding! Not many people have the necessary mindset that is required to be a successful miner. Heavy Pans Au!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp Truth!
Great work Great Gold and Great river looks super beautiful out there
Best view of any office I have ever seen! Cheers Mandy!
Nice video. Suction nozzle looks like the right choice there.
It certainly was Rick.
Great day out fam. Keep on having fun getting that au and living the dream fam. Your doing great work. Gold Squad Out!!!
Shazam! Hope you are have a great season GS!
Man, that Australia gold is definitely 23kt looking. Beautiful gold
Super shiny
It sure is NHRA! I really have to get down to OZ one of these days!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp indeed! Some of that mariposa crystalline gold we were pulling was also 23kt. It's so bright and buttery. But oz is definitely a place that has some very pure placer... and large at that! Bucket list trip.
@@nhragold1922 Bucket list trip indeed! Gotta get there before it gets hunted out! Was the bright n buttery gold you were pulling straight from the lode?
@@ColoradoGoldCamp indeed it was lode ! Typical mariposa formation in the slate/ granodiorite contacts. The tertiary / quaternary deposit in the area usually runs 20kt but obviously there's a little 23kt mixed in. Absolutely beautiful specimens there !!
Congratulations to the winners 🤠
Wish we could use dredges over here.
Me too Boss! If and when the day comes, let me know n I'll fly down with a dredge in tow!
come for a holiday and I’ll show you around mate.

Awesome stuff Dude..I didn't win this time, but I will next month :) Love what you do..Thanks
My pleasure Chris! You definitely have the attitude to win and I think that next month, I will have the biggest yet nugget in the drawing. Best of luck and thank you for your support🙌
Well sir , you are living your dreams in an inspirational and educational way , especially towards other people's similar interests . You're packing the box with huge black sands . I've never seen such large grains , in B C it's been pulverized by the Fraser River just like most of the mountains fast water passes . You're off to great start with the dredging . Great content CGC . Love your vids . Cheers my friend
Oooh, I would love to prospect the Fraser one of these days! This particular area has quite large blacks sands along with some bigger gold. Fist sized magnetite is common. Go 1/4 mile downstream and there is virtually no magnetite over pea gravel sized and a crazy abundance of heavy, dense, fine b.s.
Found your channel last week. LOVE IT! Spent 2 months camping around Eagle County, blm areas, 10 years ago. Never made it up to Leadville, though. 2 of the best months of my life. I'm itching to get back and do some exploring again.
Absolutely Ian, the mountains are calling! Spring is there and the gold is just waiting to be found🙌 Have a great summer!
I would use a hydroforce nozzle in that area if allowed, Great video as always.
I use both, currently I'm using the straight suction nozzle with secondary blaster.
@@ColoradoGoldCamp Nice im going to get a 4 inch hydro force nozzle and build my own box for it 16x96 with 4lb expanded with miners moss and deep V matting not sure if i will build a solid box or make it in 2 pcs problably 2 pcs.
@@s.d.iprospecting4359 Awesome! I have a 4" drylander. They work work well so long you have enough pump to power it. I run a 8hp honda with a proline 500 pump. The biggest drawback with a larger suction nozzle setup is that it can be quite challenging to maneuver the nozzle with 2 heavy hoses attached.
😎👍super nice day looks like an awesome time thank you for sharing
So love your (office) trying to make that my day job also. But stuck in Texarkana.
There has got to be some sort of treasure to find down there Paul. Best of luck, you can do it!
1.5” high pressure? My nozzle is for a 2” pressure i’m worried that it’s going to be really hard to work with because of how stiff the hose gets
Yes, this 3" nozzle has a 1.5" hp hose. The 3" is much more maneuverable than the 4". I wanted to use my 4" drylander here but pre testing showed that my hoses were too stiff to work the nozzle. The 4" suction nozzle really needs some sort of swivel feature to be an effective tool. So long your 4" hoses are new and flexible, you'll be ok. Once they start getting stiff, working bedrock or in areas where you have to move/twist the nozzle frequently (most areas) you will begin to curse the nozzle.
even though keene is in california. and they make dredges. there is no dredging in california. been to the keene shop many many times 60 miles from me. have a good day.
Keene gear is top notch! It is hard to believe that the anti dredging misinformation is still running rampant even though it has been scientifically proven to cause ZERO net harm to waterways....
I really really need to learn to keep my mouth shut until the videos over and then comment cuz I comment every 30 seconds on every video for most part
Hehe, it's all good Larry. Keeps things interesting!
How far does the bedrock extend into the river?
The bedrock extends all the way across the river but it does get deeper and harder to reach.
Nice...
Thanks Teresa🙌
Is a suction nozzle the same as dry land nozzle?
They are very similar. The dryland nozzle has a blaster nozzle attached while the suction nozzle does not have a blaster attached. With the suction nozzle, I use a secondary blaster that runs directly off of the pump.
@@ColoradoGoldCamp hmm ok
Looks like it works well thanks
It's going good for you any all those winners. Realistically, how much time does this set up take from beginning to end, set up to clean up?
Mining is a quite complicated process. This particular run took: a carb clean on the engine, fuel, fixing suction nozzle, patching holes in blaster hose, ordering new 3" hose, retrofitting the sluice extension, diligently watching the water flows, prepping hole, drive time, dive gear, human fuel, other planning and actual work/dive time. Once everything is set n ready to go, I dedicate the entire day to mining. It is work.
Thank
🙌
I would suggest gumboots.... LOL
I don't know my man if I wanted that water level to come up I wouldn't be throwing them rocks so far but it really all depends on your plan are you planning on dredging further towards the center of the water flow
I was diverting the flow and managed to get water over a whole lot of previously dry ground!
Super bro 👍
🙌
keep going, we're waiting. Beautiful.
Man, great insight every time I watch!
Moving out there next month I can’t wait jeez
THAT WAS SOME GREAT DREGGING GOOD JOB
It sure was refreshing, thanks Bertha!
too far down river. Need to find the mount Elbert stuff. see you in the fall
There is some chunky gold to be found ;)
축하드립니다 👏 👏 👏
Great video good information
Thanks Jordan, keep me posted on your hardrock endeavors.
Awesome brother. I have always wanted to try sluicing. I was a commercial diver in my younger years never got to give it a shot. One day I will try it. Great content keep them coming. Catch you on the next one.
I think you would definitely enjoy! Dredging with a mask and snorkel or a hookah air system is very fun and rewarding!
You almost fell in there hard work
Definitely. Without the prep work, I would not have been able to dredge this spot.
@@ColoradoGoldCamp I see that
Nice
Not bad
good video
🙌
Is it possible to do a dedgre with a 12-24-48v electric pump? If anyone knows anything please let me know, thank you!
I was waiting for to see feet last I thought you was going in
Harika parçalar👍👏👏🇹🇷
👊
Nice set up! I'm in Southwestern Colorado, Did you have to get a permit? Notice of Intent for that size nozzle? Keep it up!
Enjoy it while it lasts....Colorado and Montana will be next.
There is absolutely no valid argument for banning this type of gold dredging. I have worked as a Fisheries Biologist and know for a fact that this activity causes ZERO harm to the health of a waterway. All of the hoopla is based off of disinformation regarding spawning salmon in California.
@@ColoradoGoldCamp Should be common knowledge, but tell CA, WA, OR and most of Idaho. Sierra Club Suzy doesn't know shit about prospecting equipment, she just knows it's all bad and my gold pan is basically the same as a hydraulic monitor. There are rivers here in Idaho where I can't even use a pan and shovel. And they just banned highbanking in Washington. It's nuts really.
I’ll be visiting Colorado at the end of this month for about 2 week and plan on bringing my highbanker/dredge with me.
But I really have no idea where I can go…do you have any tips on legal places I can go without a permit?
You pretty much only have 2 places to: Clear Creek Canyon, do your research or www.coloradogoldcamp.com/
I used to do go after gold like that.
Great memories I am sure!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp yes, and have something to show for it! Around Dahlonega in late 80s.
Is one allowed to mine for gold on the Colorado river?
Yes, there are a few areas where it is legal to prospect.
hey everyone how are you? just now stumbled across this channel I think we all hit gold excellent! how do you enter your giveaways? be safe out there everyone!!
