- Nature! Freedom! Being your own boss! Gold Prospecting is a way of life for me.
Being a gold miner has its perks. I get paid in gold and get to go on endless adventures!
For an entire month out of the year, I don a drysuit and spend my days underwater gold dredging.
Some years I make minimum wage and others are much better! You just never really know when that life changing gold nugget could appear. What I do know is this;
"If you never look, you're never gonna find it"!
There is a very thin like between "Best Job Ever" and "Most Difficult Job Ever". 9-5

Nice dredge spot! I like seeing your underwater footage. Crazy amounts of black sands down there.
Thanks Colter! This spot in particular has LARGE black sands! Just downstream the material has been pulverized, leaving mass quantities of small BS.
Great view from the end of a dredge nozzle! This guy really nailed it! He's got the Gold Fever
Hehe, the lure for gold is strong my friend!
Awesome adventure for sure. Keep living the dream. thanks for the great content
The dream is ALIVE!!! Thanks for the support Steve🙌
Really appreciate the view of a modern day prospector. Just amazing
The magnetite and the cracked bedroom is making me drool. Great looking spot.
It looks ripe doesn't it!? It will take me years to clean that spot out!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp I've come acrossed a few deposits where the magnetite is just jumping out at me. It's always so exciting when it happens. I bet it was awesome! The bedrock though, beautiful ridges and separates nicely! Congrats on finding that spot!
That was a brilliant underwater commentary, way better than gurgling noise.
The magnetite/quarts/green stone layering lesson, was really informative to a wannabe prospector like myself.
Cheers
Hehe, thanks D Goose! We all start somewere. Youuuuu caaan dooo iiiiitt!! Cheers
Beautiful spot, congratulations on your take! Haven't made it to the dredge level yet here in CO, alot of places we're not allowed to dredge as you know. All the best in the field, that definitely looks like a great time, the water will be colder soon, and it always stays pretty cool
The water stays cold even through the hottest days of summer! Hope you get a chance to get on the nozzle soon, it is quite the experience!!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp the only place we don't have cold, but cool is downstream from the Coors plant on Clear Creek lol, your right it's cold year round and it only gets colder the higher the altitude!
Is this part of your camp? I want to join the camp next year. And wondering if the places you prospect. Areas that I will be able to prospect next summer? I can’t wait to join.. I live in Florida and I’m chomping at the bit to strike a shovel in the ground!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp is this area part of the goal camp? I am joining the camp for next year. And was wondering if the places I see you go are areas that I will be able to prospect next summer? I’m chomping at the bit to get up there. I live in Florida and I can’t wait!!
You could try sniping for gold instead of dredging.
Awesome video. Great view with the narration. Beautiful spot!
I love this clip😊
Nice button. You simply are a very Nice person. God bless you Sir🌠
Wish I was your friend, I'd be right there with ya buddy. I love to watch your adventures. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the support Hush🙌
It's not an easy job, but I sure love it 2. That sure looks like a good spot also.
Oh man, nothing about dredging is easy! The challenge n hard work builds character right! ;) hehe. Even with all of the energy and focus exerted, I find being underwater working, a very peaceful and zen like environment.
THe quality of your video is fantastic. Very easy to see everything.
Why thank you Terry!
Nice I'd like to come and check out Colorado someday.
Your videos are really good. That talent is gold.
Thak you so much for the support Mike🙌
Very nice work. Thanks for showing it in such detail. I did notice you were tossing a lot of rotted quartz. Do you ever keep a bucket for that and break it up later for extraction?
I thought some of those ore chunks looked pretty good too.
Looking good fam. Great job all around fam. Load's of cool info. Keep on having fun & living the dream fam. Gold squad out!!!
The dream is ALIVE GS!
That was some delicious gravel.⛏️🇺🇲
Indeed🙌
NICE! Beautiful gold man! Excellent teachings through out the video explaining the geology and placements. Really enjoyed! That button is sick!
Yeeehaaaa Mayhem. Thanks man! That button still makes me smile!!
very nice underwater ASMR
It sure is peaceful down there!
Great video love the dredging!!😎
Thanks Tony. This was a few hundred yards upstream from where you and I dug.
@@ColoradoGoldCamp I have to get back and visit you would really like to try the suction dredge out looks like a blast!!
Fantastic footage, well done. Great to see the action right down in the water and how you use the different tools. Looks like tons of fun. Thanks man!!
Great video thanks
My pleasure Chuck!
@@ColoradoGoldCampdo you have any claims for 4 inch dredge. If so send details. Thanks chuck
Just found your channel...Love it!
Fantastic Leigh! I am happy to have you here🙌
Very ASMR!
Really, you think so? ASMR is some pretty wild stuff!
Nice work there. Great video and editing. Of course awesome take on the Au. Keep living the dream. Used to placer in Fairplay years ago before all the bs. Guess now the old name of foulplay would suite it better. :)
Haa, interesting take. I was in Fairplay the other day. In days of old, the prospectors left Como for Fairplay because of the open and free opportunities there. Not so much anymore. Even if you have ground, the community can be a challenge. If you don't mind me asking, what general area did you work?
Awesome 👌 video
Thank you good sir! I really gotta get out to Motherlode Country one of these days!
Ohh look magnatight. Must be the word of the day. I lost count of how many times buddy said that. Overall, good show. Nice
Like how you explain what and how your doing.
Cool man. Nice setup. I got a dang good creek on my claim that’s shallow enough not to need a diving setup. This makes me think here. Back in 1907. 2 miners that first came to the claim got 20 oz in 7 hours right out of the creek. Man in Alaska. Cold creek though
Pretty good take
Sounds like a great claim! When are we gonna work it? I got my highbanker ready!
So what they have a season there in Colorado for dredging cuz here we can go until everything freezes sometimes I'll dredge up to the end of December and part way into January
Some of the waterways have a season, and others do not. What state are you in?
awesome footage!! Keep up the good work my friend !
Yeehaaaa, thanks Barry!
Damn, that's a nice haul.
Gotta love that Shiney! Thanks Joey!
You need some help? Your a good man in my opinion. You and Jeff are the best in my opinion. Cougars den, lol I have to go check.
Hehe, sometimes I just can't help myself Paul. The lure for gold n adventure is strong!
Great job, looks like a good dredging spot !
There are not many places in Colorado where bedrock is attainable!
Great video! Always very informative.
Heavy Pans 510🙌
Rocks weight is less under water. Strange as it seems but true.
That's the real deal right there. You tear up that beckrock good, looks fun
The gold really likes to hide down in all of those cracks n crevices!
You always deliver god videos, salutes from sweden
try a catch trap at bottom , hate to see that hard work go to waste ! GOOD LUCK
Dude where is the GOLD I wish I was somewhere where you are. I love your videos Great job keep up the good work
Thanks for the support Eduardo🙌 Where do you live?
@@ColoradoGoldCamp I live in Albert Lea minnesota
My buddy and I will drive to Colorado and bring our twin engine 6". Just show us where to put it.
You have to make sure to mod the heck out of your 6" to catch fine gold, it's not easy but can be done.
Awesome looking results your getting
Well that's a good 1700 dollars for the day
Very kool
🙌
You sound like a highly intelligent surfer dude lol
Hehe, yea buddy!🌊
The melt process could be another video, my man
For sure, thanks Rob!
Nice 👍 gold
Cheers Jeff🙌
@@ColoradoGoldCamp thanks bud have a merry Christmas 🎄
Sweet sluice
Over Under is the way to go!!
Love your vibe dude! Keep pickin hahahahaaaa
I feel like thats pretty much your real voice. Im from boulder and grew up on sugarloaf mountain, you sound just like me and all my dipshit buddies 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Hehe, cheers Brother🙌 Nice, I spent a little time on Goat Barn Trail West of Boulder!
Pickers are nice
What area do you prospect in, just gotta ask!
You mean troy ounce correct because an actual ounce is between 28 and 29 grams🎉
Bruce Campbell has a you
tube channel about gold prospecting?
VERY COOL, NICE TO SEE SOMEONE MAKING WAGES?
Out of curiosity why do you do a nitric bath?
I hit some pockets of amalgam which covered all of my gold and needed to be cleaned up.
@@ColoradoGoldCamp Ahh! Yeah, figured it was something to do with that. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on some secret method to get rid of something. Thanks!
Why does everyone say 31 grams is an ounce???? WRONG!!!... I smoke pot... There is "8" 8ths in an OUNCE...
ONE 8TH WEIGHS 3.5
3.5 X 8 = 28 GRAMS
28 GRAMS = 1 OUNCE
1 ounce is Not 31 grams
Gold is measured in Troy ounces: Avoirdupois Ounce (oz): 28.3 grams Troy Ounce (Troy oz): 31.1 grams A troy ounce weighs about 10% more compared to an ounce, which makes a big difference when it comes to precious metals.
How often are you cleaning out your sluice
I cleanout this sluice roughly every 3-4 hours of nozzle time.
How long did it take to dredge that ounce? Great video btw 🙂
Thanks Alex! This run, I was averaging around 3.5g/day
How much does a setup like this cost?
One Million Dollars! This dredge is a pieced together, McGuyver Franken Dredge built for as little $ as possible!
I assume your in Colorado? Can you still use a dredge there ?
Isn't 30 grams more than an ounce?
Troy ounce = 31.103 Avoirdupois ounce =28.349 grams
Talk in your normal voice. We aren't a bunch of hicks that watch. Many gold videos to watch. Good clarity on the video. I always wonder how much is spent making a video as to what one would do not making one?.
Making decent videos/content is fairly complex. Camera, computer, time, software, expertise, travel, editing etc. The hardest part for me is gold lost due to time spent filming.
28.35 grams per Oz. &you have 30.0 grams... That's more than an Oz. 😄
Troy, Avoirdupois
An ounce for 2 days work plus machinery cost. That's abou 900/day for how many people plus transportation. So maybe. Say 2 people. 450 each minus machinery and fuel costs. Sounds like an average wage for a heck of a lot more trouble. More return on the video if you get more subscribers. The entertainment buis.
Working for yourself and finding gold is pretty darn satisfying. Something about being able to find gold with my own two hands keeps my soul happy!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp I see what you mean. You stay in good physical shape too. As you said it's a young man's game. Hard to imagine the work those guys did cutting those hole underground. That's even before moving the rocks out. Tough job to say yhe least.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😁
🙌
Will work for gold...hiring ?
Thats 2 grams over an ounce
