My friend, Mario, from Mexico, told me, "Tomás, if there is a solution to your problem, why worry?; and if there is not a solution to your problem, why worry"?
Made a lot of sense, and that did it for me. Great vid!

I’m ill, hubby just got a pay cut, I’m still in therapy for trauma, we just got evicted and had to move in a pandemic... we are still doing great and it comes down to one simple fact. Jesus is still on the throne. It’s good to think about worst case scenarios and add some protection but honestly I never saw me being in therapy for years dealing with stuff I never imagined was my reality because my brain had blocked it all out. I’ve learnt to pray and ask God what to do and often some years on I understand why He had me do what He asked. Even simple things like 6 weeks ago He told me to condense the contents of a bookcase into half. Now I’ve moved house I understand it was because that bookcase doesn’t fit in the new house and I could only get the half sized on it. He cares about even the smallest of details in our lives!

Thank you for sharing those thoughts. The method with the worst case scenario has one more benefit: with a lot of problems one realises that the worst case in reality is much less frightening than our imagination and our fear itself.

  • @julie1465
    @julie1465 4 года назад +1

Excellent! I had heard a piece of Strategy 2 before...the imagine the worst case scenario part...but never heard it carried out to "work on improving it." I love that.
Regarding comments about how we shouldn't give energy to worst case scenario (WCS) thoughts...I agree in general. But this is counsel to help a person who gets stuck there (WCS) to have a strategy to get out of that place. So, the result is the same - not camping out in WCS.
"Don't do the thing you can't seem to stop yourself from doing" is rarely helpful advice. Stuck is stuck. Strategy 2 in the video can help someone get unstuck.
Thanks for this, Joshua. Thank you, too, Kim for the transparency that led to this video. You guys are helping people.

Thank you! We can just be in the now and try to find the silver lining in the moment. When my thoughts start going down a negative path, I stay present. This is all we got!!! Oddly enough when the whole thing exploded with the Corona virus I was horrified with fear. I decided to write a letter, if I die due to Corona. Once I put it all in writing expressing my feelings to my family and how to carry my legacy, I slept well afterwards. To me that was the worst case scenario. Morbid but a breakthrough for sure.

That's so intresting. I was just thinking so do I. I start with the if there's nothing I can do to change something why worry about it as though I could. Then if I feel panicky I think what is the worst case scenario. What are the chances of it happening. Then I think if it does I will find the power and strength to handle it as I've done in the past with with help from the One that gives me power and strength.

I think this is something that we can all relate to. The pain of losing someone we love seems unbearable. One thing you (or they) can do is to make sure there is life insurance. It won't help with the pain but it can sure make things a little easier if they have it and they do die. I have a friend whose father-in-law died a few months ago just 10 days after he cancelled his life insurance policy. His widow is facing financial hardships. But to get back to your original thought, it is so tough to lose someone. Just one of many reasons to rely on your faith. Life is surely not fair. (hugs)

Sabrina, yes, the fear of losing a loved one, or the fear of dying and leaving my kids without a parent (they already lost one parent to cancer). To me, facing my worst fears doesn't bring any comfort, because I know all too well that these things can happen.

Best to live in the present. The
'What If Story' causes stress, but
is it worthwhile - I am not a 'What
    If' person. Feel minimalism and
    it's internal changes have been
beneficial to my way of thinking
    plus so much more.

First of all there is no worry gene.
Sorry but you shouldn’t vision worst case scenario and give it any energy to possibly create. Nope! 👎🏻 bad idea!
You focus your energies on what you are wanting to create and nothing else.

    • @kristidarby2017

It's not giving it energy. It's acknowledging it, or giving it a name. Once you understand the fear, you remove the power it has over you.
